The Fall is back on RTE 1 in Sunday at 9.30
Jamie Dornan survives I think.
Looking forward to it.

Will Gillian Anderson still be wearing those lush silk blouses?
Anyone know where they are from?

Thanks Oleanna O/T are you up to date on the GOT latest? Wink

Blondeshavemorefun · 28/10/2016 01:43

Think tonight's was one of the best episodes tho if shooting was 2weeks ago Spector has seemed to recover very quickly ,,,,,...

They spoke about sperm stains. So the whole children's home was abused ?

Think the last line proves that he is pretending about memory loss as catching him out by asking about something that happened in 2002

And I didn't know Jamie wasn't playing Spector anymore :(

Out tomorrow so will have to watch over the weekend and then come back here

Not sure how it can end tomorrow without lots of loose ends

OlennasWimple · 28/10/2016 02:00

Oh oh Every - do tell?!

Blimey just caught up with last nights episode. Jeez. That bit at the end about the police being very clever - to right they have!

Think the last line proves that he is pretending about memory loss as catching him out by asking about something that happened in 2002

His memory loss pertains to a certain time frame so he could remember 2002 but not remember for e.g. 2010 to 2016.

Im worried about Inspector? Burns.

pklme · 28/10/2016 07:35

I can't get over how exciting it is, given that very little is happening. So suspenseful I have to keep reminding myself to breathe. Someone earlier talked about it being immersive... That's exactly it. Once you let go of your expectation that stuff will happen, that serial killers in hospital are not solely supervised by a single 'victim look alike' nurse, and that a high ranking policewoman will have tension in her voice....it's compelling!

HuckleberryGin · 28/10/2016 08:18

Best episode of the series so far, but still nowhere near the edge of seat series one. I struggled to understand Wallander too.

Blondes Inspector Burns said they would take all the boys to the dining room every day for 'assembly' and make them masturbate for the entertainment of the staff.

ohdearme1958 · 28/10/2016 08:51

Does anyone else think the young lad in the clinic with Spector might be the one to kill him?

Or is that too obvious?

LadyConstanceDeCoverlet · 28/10/2016 08:53

Where do people get the idea that this series has only covered around 2-3 weeks? It must be much more than that, given the extent to which Spector has healed, the further investigations that have been made, the time the Defence have been working on the case etc.

pklme · 28/10/2016 08:55

And if we're speculating... Dodgy nurse's death fetish has been triggered, and she will be the killer of the next series. Hopefully Katie will be her first victim Maybe they will suspect Katie at first... Spector has an alter ego suppressed then triggered by a car crash six years ago.
Stella definitely has a trauma history of some sort (and has lasted a series with out any inappropriate liaisons, so far).

FoxesOnSocks · 28/10/2016 09:20

I thought Burns was acting as if he'd been abused himself. He was so upset it was as if he'd had personal experience.

I also felt the psychiatric nurse was being deliberately provoking. Goading Spector to kill the red headed patient; Spector is quite protective of children (women not so much). Nurse mentioned rape, knowing Spector was raped at 12.

Ulysses · 28/10/2016 10:38

LadyConstance When Paul's charges were read out Rose Stagg had been kidnapped at the beginning of May and was found some days later. The interview at the end there was on the 16th May so only a couple of weeks.

Rrross1ges · 28/10/2016 10:40

I know this is probably wrong but I just want some shagging and a teeny tiny murder. A scary teeny tiny murder.

I wonder if the next series will be a complete break with this storyline and we'll have Stella back at the Met.

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 28/10/2016 11:28

I think I might've nodded off last night as it was sooooo dull! Did I miss anything major or do I need to watch it again ?

Ulysses · 28/10/2016 12:13

Not sure what you're expecting from the show? There were a couple of long conversations about Paul's childhood and Spector gets interviewed by Stella and Anderson on what's been uncovered in London.

While the stuff about his past was harrowing I'm not sure it was anything new. I knew his mother had killed herself and he was in a home. It turns out he was sexually abused, which wasn't a surprise since he was in the care of the priest who was convicted for paedophilia who was in the last series.

I felt manipulated into feeling sorry for this monster who has raped and killed many times because of his awful childhood. The backstory to his voyeurism was that he wanted to look at people warm in their homes... It made me think that this was all actually be supposed to be his mother's fault for hanging herself, which in turn resulted in him being abused systematically. It feels like a total kop out to be honest.

We also now know Spector must know that he has murdered, regardless of what happened with his memory loss, but even with the interview with the psychiatrist this wasn't hinted at by him so he is at this point continuing his deception, amnesia or not.

The young red-headed guy is obviously building up to some sort of part in Spector's demise. Feels like Spector will manipulate him into doing something that will instigate his death.

I think this whole series has been dull tbh and I LOVED the first two.

I'll watch it again this afternoon...

Maudlinmaud · 28/10/2016 12:33

Not going to lie. I will feel very cheated if PS dies tonight especially as that seems to be his intent.

Pike why is Gerard McCarthy representing Katie when he was personally involved with one of Spectors victims?
Do you know?

There is no way they're going to fit in the trial etc in the final episode. He's going to die. I reckon Katie will attack Stella in some way.

Re:the stuff about his childhood - I don't think the character was ever meant to be one dimensional 'evil' and the fact is, many rapists and murderers have had abusive childhoods themselves. I'm not sure it's being manipulated into feeling sorry for him, it's just a common theme.
