The Fall is back on RTE 1 in Sunday at 9.30
Jamie Dornan survives I think.
Looking forward to it.

Will Gillian Anderson still be wearing those lush silk blouses?
Anyone know where they are from?

I've just re watched it, I hadnt fallen asleep for very long last night as it's as dull as I remember it.

What is it with Gibson whispering it's beyond ridiculous and the Hannibal wannabe isn't much better!

Thank goodness it finishes tonightGrin

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 28/10/2016 15:58

I don't care about any of the characters now! ShockSad

Maudlinmaud · 28/10/2016 16:31

No need to apologise Pike
Im looking forward to this evenings episode already.

Ulysses · 28/10/2016 17:13

It's a very common theme Bronte. It's almost always the way as well. I think I was hoping for a more original explanation of why he does the awful things he does.

LadyConstanceDeCoverlet · 28/10/2016 17:53

Another one here who will be pissed off if Spector dies. If that happens we won't really be any further forward than we were at the end of the last series when he seemed to be on the brink of death.

Brontebiscuits · 28/10/2016 18:07

That's true LadyConstance- it won't advance anything much in terms of plot if he died buy I can't see what else they can do with him!
I'm still enjoying it though, it's very tense and well acted and I'm not finding it boring at all!

OlennasWimple · 28/10/2016 19:32

It almost feels a bit "first two series we got stick for gratuitous violence against women, better show that men can be victims too in this series"

ThursdayLastWeek · 28/10/2016 20:25

Just marking my place for tonight's episode.
I'm watching last nights now.

Spookle · 28/10/2016 20:38

Delurking as I can't bear the tension of waiting!

I think last night's episode was brilliant. I was really enthralled for the first time this series.

I thought that the nurse was a figment of Spector's imagination for ages as no one else ever seemed to acknowledge her.

Agree with a PP about feeling very disconcerted at my compassion for a killer. The childhood stuff is heartrending. As a traumatised child I also would long to live in the brief glimpses of warm and cosy homes that I saw occasionally.

Has anyone else had the thought that the 8yr old PB killed his mother? He said they shared a bed more after Baldwin left so could he have strangled her in her sleep?

He talks about how his mother told him Baldwin wasn't his father on his birthday. He says bitterly 'That was her birthday gift to me. 10 days later she was dead.' He later says 'My last memory of her is that she was very angry with me. For something. I don't know what'.

If I recall correctly he would initially grab hold of his victims while they were sleeping in their beds?

I went back to S3 ep1 today to recap on something and the first words of the episode are being sung- 'Mama, bring me my walking cane. I said Mama, bring me my walking cane. I'm leaving on that midnight train.' Spector is driving in the tunnel, crashes, and then later he hears his mother? calling him towards the light. I thought it was the nurse's voice!

Sorry, I just sem to be rambling now.

I do think the other patient, Mark?, will be involved in PS's death.

Ah that rambling's killed 30 minutes, only 22 to go!

Ulysses · 28/10/2016 20:38

Agreed Oleanna. At this point we're even left wondering if Burns is a survivor of abuse who's just hanging on by a thread as old wounds have been reopened.

MrsFring · 28/10/2016 20:44

I do wish that Burns could portray the drink problem in a slightly less music-hall way. Presumably he'll be candidly swigging from the bottle in this episode. ( I'm a recovering alcoholic so am allowed to make these judgements).

Ulysses · 28/10/2016 20:51

Argh, there's only 10 mins to go and I offered to have my friends kids after school. She's a nurse so finished at 8pm but I've a feeling she's going to get back after 9 and we'll have to have a polite conversation while I'm champing at the bit to watch the telly. Of all nights as well!

Ulysses · 28/10/2016 20:54

Yeah, Burns is chomping at the scenery stage. At first I thought he was drunk dialling Tom Anderson to warn him that he knew about him and Stella and to back off!

Missanneshirley · 28/10/2016 20:58

I had the thought that he'd killed his mum too.

I think they're almost trying to bring his character full circle the way they alternated the interview scenes last night - talking about his childhood in these institutions then showing him becoming institutionalised again. Abuse in the boys home and hints of something grim about to happen in the secure unit. It's like he's back where he started

Spookle · 28/10/2016 21:02

Missanneshirley Gosh that's insightful. I got a painful pang when I read that. Confused

Here we go.

MrsFring · 28/10/2016 21:09

I want to snog Merlin.

Spookle · 28/10/2016 21:17

Fuck!!

MumboNumber5 · 28/10/2016 21:18

well fuck me, I wasn't expecting that!

Maudlinmaud · 28/10/2016 21:18

I HATE HIM!

Honeyandfizz · 28/10/2016 21:18

Holy schmoley!!!

ThursdayLastWeek · 28/10/2016 21:18

HOLY SHIT

ThursdayLastWeek · 28/10/2016 21:19

Wtf is up with that Burns idiot?
How on gods green earth is he in such a position of responsibility?

ohdearme1958 · 28/10/2016 21:21

Oh dear god.

Spookle · 28/10/2016 21:21

I was just about to post about the brilliant acting of GA and JD as that happened. Talk about simmering tension. JD's eyes and jaw just got harder and harder building up to that.
