Although I'm old enough to remember it first time round, I've just ploughed my way through all five series on sky box sets. I'd forgotten how good it was, I'm looking forward to watching the new series when it starts again in the autumn.

I wonder how Jenny and Pete's relationship panned out and if he brought up her daughter?

OutToGetYou · 26/08/2016 14:06

Agree re Fay Ripley, very odd, always sounds drunk.

Ooh. I loved cold feet! Tempted to rewatch before the new series is on...still got the box set in my garage somewhere.

Diamogs · 27/08/2016 13:05

OMG I loved CF - XH and I were at exactly the same life stage through this.

Thanks for the link above i've just lined up the pilot to watch

AnneEyhtMeyer · 27/08/2016 13:09

Looking forward to this - especially as there will be no Wooden Rachel.

Yes, very slurry.

witchofzog · 27/08/2016 14:58

Squeeeeee!! I love Cold Feet and am super excited about it coming back. I watched it again recently and I miss the 90's too. The scenes in the pub. They all actually TALKED to each other as there were no internet phones. I loved Pete's mum. I loved the old fashions. I loved Ramona. I just loved it all Smile

honeyroar · 27/08/2016 20:12

I adored Cold Feet, but am slightly nervous about how they're going to bring it back. I hope they don't ruin it.

Blondeshavemorefun · 27/08/2016 23:21

Can't believe I forgot how they were unfaithful to each other :(

Jenny /fay accent is appalling !!! Sounds drunk and reminds me of the daughter (RIP) from the royal family in her speech

Guess that's meant to be Manchester 😂

Nativitylobster · 27/08/2016 23:43

I'm really excited!! I need to find the time to rewatch it!

CalmItKermitt · 27/08/2016 23:50

Loved it! Can't wait!

I really liked all the characters except Rachel but probably just because Helen Baxendale is such a dreadful actress.

Gwenhwyfar · 28/08/2016 02:06

Rachel was a bit too perfect, but I really didn't like the Australian one and Ramona was very stereotypical - I don't think they'd make a Spanish character like that these days.

hollinhurst84 · 28/08/2016 03:12

I've just bought the box set on Amazon for £15 so I can watch again! I was 14 when it started so I remember watching it but it will be good to watch it again as an adult

NorfolkEnchantsToday · 28/08/2016 11:02

Oh I've found a home! I never watched this but I'm working my way through the series box set, currently on series one! I'm addicted

Gwenhwyfar · 28/08/2016 11:18

hollinhurst - did I miss where you said you don't have access to itv player/itv hub. If you're in the UK you can watch it online for free.

Gwenhwyfar · 28/08/2016 11:20

After I watched the boxset on ITV player recently I spent some time thinking what it was actually about or what it was trying to say and came up with a theory. I then read in a magazine or something that the author said it wasn't 'about anything'. What a disappointment!

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 28/08/2016 11:33

I didnt ever think it was 'about' anything but a group of friends. What was your theory?

Gwenhwyfar · 28/08/2016 11:44

I was probably overthinking - you get a bit obsessed when you're watching two a day. I thought it was about divorce and separation becoming more common and less of a big deal than in previous generations and people splitting up quite easily though they sometimes still loved each other (Jenny and Pete, David and Karen) and also about one partner's infidelity triggering another one's (those two couples again and also Adam's two temptations after Rachel's reunion with her first husband). I just thought the relationships mirrored each other a bit.

I also thought it was unlikely that Adam and Pete would really have become such good friends with David.

hollinhurst84 · 28/08/2016 12:06

I don't have anything to watch it on (except an iPhone!) hence the DVD Smile

OutOfAces · 28/08/2016 23:03

And baby ADAM in his own cot in own room from day one

Yes, I commented to DH on how different the childcare advice seemed to be. With baby Matthew, Adam tells Rachel he's too old to be in their room and he should be in his own room, even though he's only a few months old. And then she starts to worry so decides the safest thing is to tuck him up in bed with them!

MakeItStopNeville · 28/08/2016 23:22

OK, now I'm confused. If you don't have the baby in your bed or in their own bed, where the Hell do babies sleep nowadays?!

EachandEveryone · 29/08/2016 08:51

What happened to Helen Baxendale and how did she ever get that friends gig?

Blondeshavemorefun · 29/08/2016 12:12

Baby should be in own Moses basket in parents bedroom

ShiroiKoibito · 29/08/2016 13:36

Helen Baxendale - She currently stars in Cuckoo as Lorna, the mother in-law of the titular Dale 'Cuckoo' Ashbrick.

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 29/08/2016 15:46

I've just seen the trailer!!!!
