Although I'm old enough to remember it first time round, I've just ploughed my way through all five series on sky box sets. I'd forgotten how good it was, I'm looking forward to watching the new series when it starts again in the autumn.

The cast list for next week shows Art Malik, but not Angela.

loinnir · 19/10/2016 12:19

*placeonthecouch" I agree. It was disgraceful behaviour. Tina said she chose a married man so she could have a "no strings" relationship - not so great for the wife. Tina would get a right earful on MN relationships.

southeastdweller · 19/10/2016 13:00

I find it refreshing seeing on TV an otherwise nice woman being unapologetic about seeing a married man.

IhatchedaSnorlax · 19/10/2016 13:02

I also agree place, was very disappointed with Adam doing that.

Another lover of Karen's kitchen here!

Yeah, because what people need to see more of is the normalising of cheating, the rosy-coloured view of infidelity where the wife is some crazy paranoid person and the OW is happy and desirable. There's not enough of married women being treated like idiots in RL or on TV. Oh, wait . . .Hmm

southeastdweller · 19/10/2016 15:23

You're not getting my point Confused

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 19/10/2016 17:14

What is your point?

southeastdweller · 19/10/2016 17:39

That seeing an unapologetic OW represented on TV as solvent, attractive, successful and intelligent is unusual and I like it.

AnnieNoMouse · 19/10/2016 19:57

Where is Adam getting his money from? He was working in Singapore and only came to UK initially to get married and then to stay on with his son for a few months. Now he's buying a house and showing no signs of working.

Oh, and anyone think Karen's daughter (the one who was staying in bed and being grumpy) is pregnant by Adam's son? Or was it the other daughter he slept with?

MargotLovedTom · 20/10/2016 13:43

I don't like seeing an unapologetic OW tbh. Was glad when she felt shit after realising the wife is an actual human being.

Half of the scenes in the apartments and houses look like they're filmed through a thick fog. It's very atmospheric lighting etc, but is a bit distracting.

Anyone who is wondering about songs on the soundtrack - if you're watching on Sky or somewhere where you can rewind, then rewind to a couple of scenes before the song starts, put the subtitles on and it will come up with the artist and track name when the song starts. Then you can turn off subtitles again.

What's wrong with Center Parcs? My nieces that age love it so why wouldn't it be a good treat for them? And their spas are fantastic I'm sure even miserable Jenny would cheer up there.

I think Adam should have been honest with lying mans wife. I would have felt awful to be lied to like that.

Squeegle · 21/10/2016 10:01

Also the scene in the car park with the boss was deeply unconvincing. Still enjoying it though!

Dozer · 21/10/2016 15:01

Expect david's weasly boss will think david has the recording and charges will be dropped.

Dozer · 21/10/2016 15:03

Not impressed with the implied excuse of widowhood for Tina being an OW. Also inconsistent for the character's kindness and intelligence not to have considered the wife.

Blondeshavemorefun · 22/10/2016 17:20

Trust David do cock up the recording. But hopefully the bluff will work

Agree where /how does ADAM get his money from

Think money has always been a struggle for PETE and jennje so kids prob have never been to centre parks

Tho it's bloody exp

Be cheaper to go abroad .....

Glad neighbour felt bad for being ow and ended it

Kinda thought davids lawyer wife might represent him

As if he goes away he won't be giving her any money

I did wonder if karen's daughter was preg by Adam

LadyConstanceDeCoverlet · 23/10/2016 09:47

Robyn is a family lawyer, isn't she? So she couldn't deal with a corporate fraud case.

Dozer · 23/10/2016 20:18

Yes, she's a divorce lawyer, and anyway she didn't think david was innocent and had (understandably, the bloke's a dick a lot of the time) got fed up of being married to him. Karen appealing to her concern for her step DC might make her think twice about making things worse for him though.

Squeegle · 23/10/2016 20:29

I don't think she cares at all about step DC though. She's a very cold character

Dozer · 24/10/2016 08:10

The writing has ruined her character and made her a stereotype Sad

APlaceOnTheCouch · 24/10/2016 09:43

I think she's just been completely underwritten in this series. The fact that her step-DD did go to her office for work experience hinted that she isn't a cold fish and does have a relationship with the girls. I think she is just frustrated beyond endurance by being married to David and tbh I think that's understandable. Lovely character though he is to watch, he would be awful as a husband.

IhatchedaSnorlax · 24/10/2016 10:28

I completely agree Couch, I think she has been underwritten this series. I thought it was a nice touch to have her in this series (nice additional continuity) & also true to David's character that he'd marry his divorce lawyer as he's quite lazy & would seem to follow the 'easy' road to me of marrying the first person who'll have him after Karen!

I thought she did seem like she cared about the girls however as a divorce lawyer will want to appear to 'win' in her own divorce as otherwise that could damage her reputation!

I can imagine being married to David would be very hard work & they're both as snobby as each other so would bring out the worst in each other (rather than with Karen who brings him back down to earth & makes him a nicer person).

I've loved this series & very glad there's going to be another. I liked Angela though so disappointed & confused as to why she was in the show & then out of it?

Blondeshavemorefun · 24/10/2016 14:00

Last one tonight
