I have found my people! Especially those who can't really bake but who love GBBO.

squoosh I loved John so didn't begrudge him the win, but my all time favourite GBBO moment was the gingerbread construction round...the others all having traumas, were any of them going to finish, James having to turn his into a ruined barn to have something to present, much wailing and stress...then the camera cut to Brendan, calmly piping eyelashes onto a marzipan bluebird.

IHaveBrilloHair · 19/08/2016 13:11

I can't bake at all, even though I'm a really good cook and I own a kitchenaid.

JudyCoolibar · 20/08/2016 10:25

I dislike the biscuit rounds that are more about construction than baking. I hope they cut them down or, better still, cut them out altogether this year.

emotionsecho · 20/08/2016 19:54

I am not a huge fan of the 'construction' rounds whatever foodstuff is being used for the construction I'd far rather they concentrated on baking and the contestants having to produce things with different flavours to the norm.

My favourite Brendan moment was in the bread making round when he did Stone Baked Bread Rolls using special river washed stones in the cooking process, it was just genius!

megletthesecond · 20/08/2016 20:01

So Olympics rolls into GBBO which will roll into Strictly. Family TV tastic Smile .

Passmethecrisps · 20/08/2016 20:46

I absolutely cannot wait!!

Also not a fan of the architectural stuff. I am sure if tastes fabulous but frankly they get more ridiculous and I want to see cakes

ppeatfruit · 21/08/2016 19:49

I'm surprised that they still do the architectural stuff. Mary always seems to dislike it esp. if they bring in ready made props. I bet it's Paul who loves it; .men and their erections eh!! Grin

SapphireStrange · 22/08/2016 10:43

I don't like the architectural ones either. The sheer amount of food produced seems rather obscene to me.

ElodieS · 22/08/2016 10:51

Settles in for Wednesday - very excited!

Settling in for Wednesday - very excited!

Womenareliketeabags · 22/08/2016 10:53

So excited!

ppeatfruit · 22/08/2016 12:43

Annoyingly we 're away and I didn't set the recorder for it! I might send dh back to do it Grin It's usually repeated though.

MiddleClassProblem · 22/08/2016 13:18

There's always iplayer/catch up. I'm not sure how we coped not watching the to programme we wanted when whenever we liked. My VHS ate tapes...

ppeatfruit · 22/08/2016 20:05

Yes but I'm in Fr. Middle and the catch up doesn't work Sad I'm not sure about the i player.

We used to wait for the repeats I suppose! They do sell them to Food I think, I've been watching repeats of some of them on there.

Womenareliketeabags · 22/08/2016 20:12

Ppeat do you have sky? They have an app you can download onto your smart phone and you can set programmes to record on your box from there. Could you do that?

ppeatfruit · 22/08/2016 20:28

Oooh we do have sky, I'll research that thank you Womenare Sorry where did your name come from? Grin it's an unusual one Grin.

I am a bit of a technophobe though and I have an i pad not an i phone Blush

MiddleClassProblem · 22/08/2016 20:51

If you have an idevice you can use an app called Tunnel Bear that anchors it to the uk so you can us uk apps as if you are at home. You can use BBC iplayer to catch up or watch live.

I set it up whilst in Sri Lanka on hol you get a set amount free but you can get unlimited for £2.99 a month and cancel when ever you want. I just paid £2.99 for the 2 weeks we were away x

fourquenelles · 22/08/2016 21:22

Oh the irony! GBBO clashes with my Fat Club. A quick weigh in for me then scamper back for my dose of buttery, sugary, creamy, chocolaty, caramelly porn.

Womenareliketeabags · 22/08/2016 21:43

It's a take on the quote
'A woman is like a tea bag; you never know how strong it is until it's in hot water' by Eleanor Roosevelt

I like it and think it's very very true!

SingaSong12 · 22/08/2016 22:02

I generally don't like the construction tasks, though the bread lion was incredible.

JolieColombe · 22/08/2016 23:19

Only just found out it starts this week, can't wait! Although we're going to parents evening at school that night, hope it doesn't go on too late Confused

ppeatfruit · 23/08/2016 12:04

Thank you MiddleClass I'll look into that it sounds very promising.

Yes that's a good quote from an intelligent woman Womenarelike I always liked her portrayal in The Albert Finney film version of Annie. Sorry to lower the tone Grin.

3luckystars · 24/08/2016 09:18

Only a few more hours to wait! Woohoo!

PageStillNotFound404 · 24/08/2016 09:23

Blatantly place marking for tonight!

Cake
Shannaratiger · 24/08/2016 09:28

Love it and so does Dd, lovely watching programmes together. DJ and Ds say they don't but they're still glued to it!
