I think thats what they said they were called yes. The one they showed was definitely a laundry.

Yes it was a Magdalene laundry. Basically the work house with added religion and cruelty and abuse perpetrated in the name of God . The last one in Ireland only closed in 1996!

The programme could not find their Mother I wonder if she was buried in an unaked paupers grave.

The film 'Philomena' is worth a watch as it tells the story of a girl in one of these Magdalene laundries.

In those days you wouldn't be able to adopt unless you had a bit of money - the mum had to stay at home, at least.

It's almost as though the daughter is mothering the mother.

I am not convinced Ken is telling the truth.

I think the daughter will find that her adopted family is her real family. I think the man will be let down by his father.

I feel that episode was a bit of a let down. I do not feel close bonds will be forged. I agree Imperial. They're too different the Mother and Daughter.

I saw this tonight for the first time. I'd like to know what happened to the father of the woman from Richmond. I hope he wasn't a predator preying on a young girl
