OP posts:
wannaBeWhateverIWannaBe · 17/01/2007 11:01

even the live shows are broadcast on a delay, so it's entirely possible for c4 to switch to a different part of the house/edit out the bitching etc.

LieselVentouse · 17/01/2007 11:02

Did anybody watchlive feed last night? I lost my live feed - Danielle and Jo were in the double bed and Danielle wascalledto the Diary Room, Jocame outto have a fag and Jade followedasking why Danielle had been calledand Jo was saying I hope its not cause of what we did andJade said what did you do and Jo said I cant tellyou in case its not but have a guess. Doesanybody know what happenedand what Jo & Danieele did.

nearlymybeetrootday · 17/01/2007 11:04

what time wasthis lv

brandy7 · 17/01/2007 11:05

so does anyone know why danniele went inthe diary late last night and why jo/jade were sitting on the sofa shitting themselves with worry?

LieselVentouse · 17/01/2007 11:09

Thats what I just asked Brandy butgladyou summed it up in one line for me.

LieselVentouse · 17/01/2007 11:10

It was about 11pm

SnafuOutOfHiding · 17/01/2007 11:14

Agree with greeny.

Can't believe people actually watch this mindless shit.

brandy7 · 17/01/2007 11:17

oh yea lvt cross posts!

ive looked on the bb site and all it says is that they didnt go to bed because they are worried that bb is up to something and they were trying to figure out if someone was goingto be surprise evicted tonight. hope oneof them is

nearlymybeetrootday · 17/01/2007 11:18

They had all been to bed though

AitchTwoOh · 17/01/2007 11:33

hang on, this mindless shit is actually prompting our newspapers and media (including the tabs) to discuss the ease with which otherwise functional, normal Brits (yes, yes, i realise i'm stretching the point there with Jade) relax into bullying and racism. i think to dismiss it is tooo easy, and shows a lack of understanding of what passes for our culture.
i spoke to a woman from India yesterday who said of the furore 'i don't understand why people think it would be any different in there to out here...' i'm not happy to relax and accept that it's okay in this country to bully people, and in particular people from different countries. Because it's just bloody rude, as much as anything else. So who knows, perhaps it's got people talking?

and it's so boring to say that this makes Ch4 happy and gets more viewers and sells more papers... yawn, yawn. if we have a downgraded culture it's because we haven't cared enough to upgrade it. BB attracts big audiences and for once might just be communicating a bigger idea than people picking their feet for four weeks... it's maybe not a bad thing.

VeniVidiVickiQV · 17/01/2007 11:39

Quite aitch.

The fact that you lot are discussing this shower of shite in nearly 500 posts just goes to show how much people are happy to go along with the downgrading.

It's interesting, because these same newspapers and journalists that have picked up on this topic are quite often the ones that perpetuate the stereotypes of 'foreigners/immigrants "coming over here" and doing x y z'.

SnafuOutOfHiding · 17/01/2007 11:45

Aitch, if this is what passes for our culture then actually I'm happy not to understand it, or have any part of it. Unfortunately I can't because it's bloody everywhere whether you watch the programme or not.

I agree that our culture has been cheapened because we've allowed it to be. I don't agree that this is stimulating proper debate on racism etc - the whole point is that no-one will actually give a damn about anything that's happened in that house two days after precisely because our culture is so debased and our attention spans so minute now. This won't change anything, except to make us even less sensitive to the shite we're fed everyday in the name of 'entertainment' and 'culture'.

TenaLady · 17/01/2007 11:46

Jade is mixed race herself! I think its is more like school toilet bullying. The girlie gang altogether. If you split them up they dont say anything to her remotely offensive.

They are a bunch of not very bright girls who are feeding of each others insecurities to have a bit of nasty fun at Shilpas expense.

Nasty nasty bitches

AitchTwoOh · 17/01/2007 11:48

ah well, vvv, i also participated in the previous thousand on another thread, so if that makes me a particpant then so be it.
i do like BB, really i do. (less and less so as the format is tiring but i've never not found it interesting).
my point is that the people moaning that it's all just rubbish (i'm looking at you, greeny) are missing a point that this rubbish has turned a spotlight on behaviour that takes place every day on every street, and that at least it's sparking debate.
my other point is that it might end jade goody's career, which can only be a good thing for the culture.

TenaLady · 17/01/2007 11:50

Im confused why every finger is pointing to Jade as I think the worse comments have been said by Danielle and Jo

AitchTwoOh · 17/01/2007 11:50

but obviously i hope you're wrong, snafu.
and i really, really, really don't see how being mixed race means that you can't possibly be racist, tenalady.

AitchTwoOh · 17/01/2007 11:52

jade is more famous, that's all. and her mother was the one who started the atmosphere of 'it's okay to bully shilpa' and jade supported her mother in that.

TenaLady · 17/01/2007 11:52

Well wouldnt she be more sensitive to the situation. If mixed race folk arent then nobody has got a cat in hells chance.

In some ways it must be more difficult not being white but not being black.

TenaLady · 17/01/2007 11:53

Aitch, Jade had a go at her mum for talking too much, too loudly and responding when a response wasnt really needed.

LieselVentouse · 17/01/2007 11:54

Look at Cheryl Tweedy.

TenaLady · 17/01/2007 11:56

Im no fan of Jades, thats for sure but I have been watching closely (not sleeping) and it has most definately been Daneille and Jo

Mercy · 17/01/2007 11:57

I agree with a lot of what Caligula has said, and Aitch too.

I've only watched a bit of CBB, but going on what I've seen here it is racism. Doesn't matter if it's casual, unintentional, whatever - racism is racism. And it's everywhere, believe me.

TenaLady · 17/01/2007 11:59

I dont think you can sound bite this programme and make your decision from that. Its all been hyped as racism and from where I have been sitting I cant see that at all but sadly I have been watching too much of it

LieselVentouse · 17/01/2007 12:01

Thats what I thought its more like girlie jealousy and bullying - not quite racism- yet.

AitchTwoOh · 17/01/2007 12:02

i don't get you, tena.
Jade also said that shilpa wasn't being unreasonable in wanting to be called her own name, but didn't then follow through with any further censure once she'd decided she didn't like Shilpa.
as i said before, being of mixed parentage is no bar to feeling innately superior to people of other cultures, and should you decide not to like that person and to bully them and bitch about their cultural background then yes, you are a racist bully.
jade's in charge in that house, she controls the tone. she could stop the other two with a word if she wanted to.
