What do people expect? You take a bunch of desperate idiots and cram them into a house full of cameras, then sit goggling in front of it, analysing every sordid remark and personal act, then complain that you don't like what you see? Either she's as dim and directionless as the rest of them, or she's devious and greedy. Either way it's a pretty degraded existence.

But from the coverage it seems as though some of the tensions are from Shilpa not only being gorgeous but also that she is a GENUINE star with huge talent as opposed to a footballers girlfriend or washed up singer. It's like putting Catherine Zeta Jones in there surely?

And cbb got an extra million viewers last night - what a surprise! C4 are rubbing their hands in glea.

If people don't like it, then why the hell are they watching it. If people boycotted the programme, then c4 would get the message that way and ultimately it would be removed, not this time, but next time, the time after maybe. But where there's demand there's supply, so while people tune in c4 will continue to make the programmes. And tbh I think that the fact that people actually tune in to watch this crap says a lot more about them than it does about the programme.

Anyway, I agree people shouldn't watch. As I said I watched one episode on Tuesday after reading about it and have now complained and haven't watched anymore.

When Jade woke up & was telling the 2 fugly sisters about her dream, I thought it was made up... she told them the 3 cousins were attacking them as they thought they had been picking on Shilpa... which was exactly what they were doing But did anyone notice that when she was telling Shilpa about the dream she left the bit out that the cousins thought they were picking on her.. Jade is such a slabber!!!!

Sorry but Shilpa is obviously more intelligent than the other three, being in the house doesn't make her an idiot.

Germaine Greer is one of the most thoughtful and intelligent commentators in the media (whether you agree with the stuff she says or not) and she too went into the house.

yes of course she can be upset but she knew exactly what she was getting into. And she's from bollywood where this kind of bullying and bitchery is apparently common place so she's already used to it.

These people don't just decide on a wim to go into big brother, maybe the first season, but then that was all quite inteligent with jack dee etc, apart from vanessa phelps losing the plot, but they, or their agents, know what kind of publicity it will give them, that's why you never ever see decent celebrities in there because they have too much self respect to degrade themselves like that.

Channel4 should be editing out this bitching, it's one thing it happening but it's quite another condoning it being played live on television, but they don't edit it out because if they did they wouldn't get the viewers.

I think Vanessa Feltz collapsing on the first BB was a warning to all other celebs about how the effects of the claustrobia, the lack of privacy etc., could affect people genuinely.

Hence the dearth of real celebs ever since.
