(After our antenatal thread became somewhat hijacked with talk of Doctor Who)

Hello,

My name's (usually) MsMoss and I've been a Doctor Who Geek for over twenty years now. I grew up with McCoy, stood by it through its years in the wilderness and now watch, proud but slightly bemused, as it is no longer shameful to admit you're a fan.

Anyone else with me? You love the new series but don't want the old to be forgotten?

Join me, stand up and be counted!

Oh just read down. 3 more weeks to go?

foxinsocks · 26/05/2007 14:50

yeah, monster scarecrows (sorry, I actually wrote my last post as if I was talking to the kids. All baddies in their eyes fall under the generic term of monster. I meant the scarecrows ).

foxinsocks · 26/05/2007 14:51

aitch, the storyline does sound fantastic (so who do you write for m'dear or do you want to stay incognito?!)

lyrabelacqua · 26/05/2007 15:03

Do you think Dr Who is too scary for an almost three-year-old? other parents have been shocked that we let him watch it but he loves it and knows it's not real.
He and DS1 call Saturday Dr Who Day.

DumbledoresGirl · 26/05/2007 16:59

My 4 yo watches it avidly too lyrabelacqua, though I have to say he has had the odd nightmare after certain episodes . I always think it goes completely over his head and so it is safe for him to watch but I know many would feel differently.

cupcakes · 26/05/2007 19:59

so, tonights episode. Wasn't that Jessica Stephenson? It said Jessica Hynes in the credits.

And if he has babies is that how they get to continue the time lord franchise??

cupcakes · 26/05/2007 20:02

to answer own questio see here

she got married and changed her name.

WK007 · 26/05/2007 20:02

cupcakes - same woman, don't know whether she's got married or what. And think the kids doesn't actually happened, think he glimpses his future and has to choose, or something like that.

I WANT TO SEE THE NEXT EP NOW!!!!

lyrabelacqua · 26/05/2007 20:04

That kid who took the watch was the same one from Love Actually wasnt he?

NuttyMuffins · 26/05/2007 20:05

I'd enjoy it 100 times more if my kids didn't seem to think that I know whats going on when i don't. The amount of times I said 'well if you be quiet and watch you will find out'.

Can't wait for next weeks.

mygirllollipop · 26/05/2007 20:05

I couldn't stop DD3 watching Dr Who (she is 25m) if I wanted.
So will the Dr have kids?

NuttyMuffins · 26/05/2007 20:05

and Nanny Mcphee as Dd2 pointed out

WK007 · 26/05/2007 20:05

Yep, and Nanny McPhee, think he's so sweet!

I think it was the actor from Love Actually. He's grown up a bit since then!

Fantastic episode, made better by both dds being in bed on time for once!

belgo · 26/05/2007 20:08

Nutty - maybe use the subtitles? That's what I do if the kids are still up.

Katymac · 26/05/2007 20:14

Was the younger boy - in Five Children & it

And was he in an earlier episode?

foxinsocks · 26/05/2007 21:28

he was in an earlier episode wasn't he?

nutty, my kids talk throughout it too. Well until DT snogged the nurse and that shut them up .

munz · 26/05/2007 22:34

yes he was in love actually, and also finding neverland think he was in something else with jonny depp as well but can't think what - ooh no it was nanny mcphee.

not sure on this weeks episode. in theory if he has kids won't they be humans cos of the change in his bio/dna?

Ripeberry · 27/05/2007 10:02

Changing the subject of the thread somewhat.
Glad to see they have used part of the "Museum of Welsh Life" in St Fagans, Cardiff.
They had the "Gwalia Stores" sign hidden by a tree, would be difficult to explain why the shop sign was Welsh!
It looks like most of it could have been filmed around there, apart from the school scenes which were filmed in that manor house near Brecon Beacons involved in the story about the Werewolf and Queen Victoria.

Mister Saxon = Master No Six!

It's The Master making a re-appearance.

akaJamiesMum · 27/05/2007 10:09

... or at the very least has nicked his body.

munz · 27/05/2007 11:36

who's master no six?

Aitch · 27/05/2007 13:35

WRONG!

motherinferior · 27/05/2007 13:48

Do you think it is significant that this episode started with Bunyan's 'To be a Pilgrim' which, I'm sure you remember, contains the lines

'Let him in constancy/Follow the master'

???
