(After our antenatal thread became somewhat hijacked with talk of Doctor Who)

Hello,

My name's (usually) MsMoss and I've been a Doctor Who Geek for over twenty years now. I grew up with McCoy, stood by it through its years in the wilderness and now watch, proud but slightly bemused, as it is no longer shameful to admit you're a fan.

Anyone else with me? You love the new series but don't want the old to be forgotten?

Join me, stand up and be counted!

I loved it! DS did, too, although most of it went over his head. I'm worried though... did I actually miss John Barrowman in tonight's? Was I too busy drooling over DT?

MrsWho · 05/05/2007 22:33

He was just in the 'rest of series' trailer

Smutti · 05/05/2007 22:36

Oh phew! It was a long wait, to ogle him on Joseph. Didn't want to think I'd bizarrely sat through him for 45 mins!

UnquietDad · 06/05/2007 11:51

The episode was OK, but the TRAILER! Woo!!

Some people on Outpost Gallifrey have been looking at close-up freeze-frames of John Simm's ring. I'm just saying...

Was it me, or did Tish say "He's been BIDING us time", instead of BUYING?

MrsWho · 06/05/2007 20:10

Why doesn't Marthas family like the Doctor?(before the SAxon info)

(rewatching on BBC3 now )

MrsWho · 06/05/2007 20:35

and the bloke who tells Marthas mother about the Doctor is he thevoice of the trailer 'he burns at the centre of time ....'etc

Also did anyone manage to read his lips of what he actually told her?

MrsWho · 06/05/2007 20:47

Just had an interesting conversation with dd2 (5) she has decided 'the monsters are people dresssed up and the DR, Rose,MArtha, jack are all real and live in the TV'
And she wants to know where the toilet is on the TARDIS

Didn't DT look fab at the end of the trailer

MrsWho · 06/05/2007 20:48

Sorry one more , MArtha didn't take any bloody clothes again, the Dr better lend her some this time!

Fubsy · 06/05/2007 21:00

Why, did Rose take a suitcase? I always thought the Dr just conveniently had a range of womwns clothing in her size in his wardrobe! Didnt he give her the punk stuff when they were going back to 1978?

By the way I am frankly disturbed at the thought of people on OG studying John Simm's ring

MrsWho · 06/05/2007 21:17

Yeah she did pack a bag at some point, but so far Martha has worn the same clothes for 3 trips even thought the Dr got changed.

Fubsy · 06/05/2007 21:32

Lazy cow, she could at least have grabbed a handful of those knickers as she got into the tardis!

MrsWho · 06/05/2007 21:35

dd2 was PHSL at this

MrsWho · 06/05/2007 21:55

and LEGO who?

TheDuchessOfNorksBride · 06/05/2007 22:02

DD1 aged 5yo has just watched this weeks episode on video. She had to fast-forward through bits when Mark Gatiss was talking in case he turned into the monster. When he was the monster, that was fine!? So she's OK with scares but not with the suspense And she's bloody furious about ESC.

Looking forward to John Simm but can't believe that Captain Shite is going to ruin so many episodes.

I'm in full agreement with your 10yo, MB.

TheDuchessOfNorksBride · 06/05/2007 22:03

Mrs Who - loved the outtakes. Thanks xx

sphil · 06/05/2007 22:56

Have bookmarked the outtakes for DS1 in the morning - thanks! He'll LOVE the Cybermen in the park. As did I ...

He was exactly the same as DofN's DD on Sat - had to stand just outside the door when Mark Gatiss was on as himself then came back in and sat down when he became the monster .

Mossie · 07/05/2007 10:56

Oh bugger missed the key bits in last night's episode because I was too busy trying to sooth a bawling baby! If I don't have the same issue again tonight will try and watch on BBC3...

... this is a series I'm deffo going to have to rewatch when it's repeated and ds is a bit older and stops crying for more than five seconds!!!

sphil · 07/05/2007 19:31

Poor you Mossie - it's bad enough with DS1 asking 'What's he doing?' and 'Why's he doing that?' every five seconds. You've got that to look forward to

MrsWho · 07/05/2007 21:09

Poor you Mossie!

did everyone see DT on Parkinson? and the trailer for 42?

Mossie · 08/05/2007 11:02

Well, I've decided that on Saturdays I'm going to arrange it so he's feeding while Dr Who is on, that way at least I get some peace & quiet!

Still gutted I missed most of last week's episode - am a huge TS Eliot fan too and I understand he was quoted quite a lot?

UnquietDad · 08/05/2007 11:08

mrswho - my DD also asked where the toilet was in the TARDIS!

They missed a great opportunity - Jackie Tyler would have been the ideal characetr to ask about it. "Blimey, Doctor, I'm bustin' fer a wee, scuse me. Where's yer lav? You got one in this place?"

MrsWho · 08/05/2007 12:22

LOL that would been good!

she also wants to see how many monsters are in the loft!

Fubsy · 09/05/2007 21:54

saw a car with this number plate today:
D1 WHO with a small blackscrew head making the 1 look like an r!

MrsWho · 09/05/2007 22:27

LOL

Fillyjonk · 10/05/2007 07:22

saddo that i am , i am trying to work out WHERE those houses are in the trailer

they look EXACTLY like the houses in my street. I mean, EXACTLY (seeing as how i am in cardiff this is not TOO unlikely). But I'd have noticed, surely?

(mind you i didn't notice last time filmed at the bottom of my road...not til the water went off and i had to go and investigate)
