(After our antenatal thread became somewhat hijacked with talk of Doctor Who)

Hello,

My name's (usually) MsMoss and I've been a Doctor Who Geek for over twenty years now. I grew up with McCoy, stood by it through its years in the wilderness and now watch, proud but slightly bemused, as it is no longer shameful to admit you're a fan.

Anyone else with me? You love the new series but don't want the old to be forgotten?

Join me, stand up and be counted!

There are a lot of houses similar round her but we are in Cumbria so not likely to be

Filly quite likely if they have filmed there before.(Do you mean the windows blowing out ones? MArthas flat????)

Fillyjonk · 10/05/2007 20:00

oh i dunno, yes i think so

ok have walked down and round about and i think it might be

its going to be a street round here, i expect, I don't think there are any other houses like that in cardiff

what is really distinctive is the small flowery type things in the porch. That is, i think, unique to our street. Also the cambre of the road is just right

oooh how EXCITING if true. AND wtf was I? Jesus!

I do like dr who, and torchwood, i have yet to see them use a location i didn't recognise (esp since am londoner by birth...)

Fillyjonk · 10/05/2007 20:01

oh BLOODY hell

have just remembered

We nearly bought that sodding house

but then bought 6 doors up

aaargh

SueBaroo · 10/05/2007 20:16

wouldn't worry about it, Fillyjonk, they prolly green-screened it anyway

Fillyjonk · 10/05/2007 20:19

lol

you mean it ISN'T my road?

no, don't go there, please

MY ROAD IS FAMOUS!

SueBaroo · 10/05/2007 21:13

Of course it's your road

But they probably didn't blow up the upper room of a house on your street. Reckon you'd have noticed, lol.

slalomsuki · 11/05/2007 12:18

Is Dr Who still Sh*ing Madamme De Pompadoor in real life?

SueBaroo · 11/05/2007 14:46

yeah, think so. Although the door always open if he wants to get a bit of class.

MrsWho · 11/05/2007 19:31

Heh-hem I am MARRIED to the Dr don't-ya-know

foxinsocks · 11/05/2007 19:35

cor, how annoying that it's not on tomorrow. I have started really looking forward to it - I think it's the only programme the children and I get to cuddle up with popcorn and watch together!

SueBaroo · 11/05/2007 20:31

MrsWho, aye, all the squee-squad are

MrsWho · 11/05/2007 20:58

We are going out tomorrow night now so at tleast am not sat there waiting BUT the week after the kids are at their Dads and the next week we are away so no Doctor Who and chocolate cake nights for a while

MrsWho · 11/05/2007 21:26

Anyone seen the 42 Trailer? The man says 'burn with me' dd1 said that the Plasmavore said the same , think this is relevant? especially with the voice over on the main series trailer?

MrsWho · 11/05/2007 21:33

'burns at the centre of time' and I think it is said by the creepy bloke in suit from Lazarus experiement

MrsWho · 11/05/2007 21:44

I love the Drs look at the end of the trailer too !

Fubsy · 11/05/2007 22:35

The Plasmavore said "Burn with me" just before she went up in the MRI I think. I read somewhere that this is relevent!

UnquietDad · 12/05/2007 00:07

My DD has emailed Points of View to complain about it not being on tomorrow. She started her email "Dear BBC, why oh WHY....?"

thequeenofcontradiction · 12/05/2007 11:49

In protest at the lack of Who, tonight we are having a Who-fest of classic episodes on DVD and a dalek-shaped cake from M&S.

For his birthday DH got 'The Beginnings' and 'New Beginnings' boxsets so we shall be sorted.

Eurovision be damned! (it's on at 8pm so why does Doctor Who need to be sacrificed?)

Fubsy · 12/05/2007 13:11

Exactly. Surely Joseph could have waited a week or been moved to bbc2 for a night?

SueBaroo · 12/05/2007 13:30

It's not Eurovision that's the problem really, it's the stupid 'Any old crap kareoke will do'.

It's a live show with phone-ins and all that, and logistically, it's a lot easier to postpone a pre-recorded drama.

I think it's as pants as can be, and I'll be watching something better and scoffing a big curry. bliss.

MrsWho · 18/05/2007 22:56

OOOH Less than 24 h to go

BUT I have just made the mistake of reading digital spy and the it gives too many spoilers about the episode (assuming they are true)

MrsWho · 19/05/2007 16:00

3H to go!!!!!!!!!

SueBaroo · 19/05/2007 16:36

mrsWho, I did the spoilers, too, but I'm glad I did - looks like an emotioanl rollercoaster, and I'm a complete sap about this sort of thing if I'm not prepared.

MrsWho · 19/05/2007 17:21

don't know whether I want it to be true though, was hoping for just M rather than R too

Did you see the Utopia/Jack clip?

MrsWho · 19/05/2007 17:25

just watching the dinosaur one (taped off UK gold ages ago) and just realised it starts Black and HWite and goes into colour!
