(After our antenatal thread became somewhat hijacked with talk of Doctor Who)

Hello,

My name's (usually) MsMoss and I've been a Doctor Who Geek for over twenty years now. I grew up with McCoy, stood by it through its years in the wilderness and now watch, proud but slightly bemused, as it is no longer shameful to admit you're a fan.

Anyone else with me? You love the new series but don't want the old to be forgotten?

Join me, stand up and be counted!

don't know, haven't really got to that era , my dvd collection is still quite limited!

serenity · 16/04/2007 00:47

oh god, John Simms as the Master (has the heebie jeebies and has to have a lay down) The Master was my first ever crush and has shaped my taste in disreputable goatee'd men ever since.

UnquietDad · 16/04/2007 23:04

Seen the new Radio Times cover??

I could link to it, but it is a bit of a spoiler! And a bit YEUCH as well! (Hate to think what my mum will make of it...)

lemonaid · 16/04/2007 23:15

I looked on the website, which initially had a picture of Matthew Macfadyen, and I was . Then I clicked through and thought "Aha! That's what UD was on about!"

UnquietDad · 16/04/2007 23:33

Ok, so:

here it is

But don't say I didn't warn you.....

UnquietDad · 16/04/2007 23:35

Is that working?
It was when I tested but isn't now.

MrsWho · 17/04/2007 19:47

MrsWho · 17/04/2007 19:49

Oh and 'we' have started on the sticker book

MrsWho · 17/04/2007 21:31

Found the quoet on OG- Rose says similar in Parting of the ways (think that was what I was thinking of) and S-j says it in school reunion and also the Dr in'End of the world'

MrsWho · 17/04/2007 21:33

am I the only one here tonight

serenity · 17/04/2007 22:20

yes...

We got the sticker book free in this months SFX, but as it only came this morning we haven't actually got any stickers yet. When we do finally get some (bad time of the month - get paid next week) I shall join you on the sapsies thread

serenity · 17/04/2007 22:20

or even swapsies thread......

emmatomATO · 17/04/2007 22:27

Fantastic, you lot will be able to help me. My son's comic has this competition question ( and please don't shoot me for not knowing the answer!) - "What do daleks say before they fly?"

Now the only word I know that they say is the obvious 'Exterminate", but is this said befoe they fly?

MrsWho · 17/04/2007 22:30

no idea!

serenity-there is now a thread in the swap section !

serenity · 17/04/2007 22:33

Dh says the Daleks said 'Elevate' (which just sounds like the punchline to some really cheesy joke!)

Will see you on the swap thread at some stage then Mrs Who.

MrsWho · 17/04/2007 22:38

Of course its when the dalek chases Rose and Adam but I don't remember it doing it again.

emmatomATO · 17/04/2007 22:38

Thanks serenity. Is DH sure - there is a lot riding on this!!!!

serenity · 17/04/2007 22:41

DH is sure, and it also confirms it \link{http://uk.answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20070331120803AAeS1oM\here) hth

UnquietDad · 17/04/2007 22:42

Definitely "Elevate."

serenity · 17/04/2007 22:42

crap. here

emmatomATO · 17/04/2007 22:42

Thank you. DS will be ecstatic in the morning!!

carlypen · 18/04/2007 09:50

Oh thank you now i don't feel like a freak as all my friends think i am for totally fancying DT and John Barrowman and being scifi nut. Can't believe so many postings! Anyone no when the new series of torchwood is? Think my kids are a bit wee for Dr Who yet - stilll manages to scare me witless - as for some episodes of torchwood... (and sea of souls last night - i was terrified going to bed
Anyway my crush on gorgeous Dt just got worse when heard his real accent - drool (sounds so like Ewan Macgregor - another sexpot if anyone seen long way round).

UnquietDad · 18/04/2007 12:53

Tis true about the 1988 story where they first flew up stairs.

Before that, we saw them float up on hover-pads in a Jon Pertwee story.

Aufish · 18/04/2007 18:36

I need some Dr Who help please, when is Saturday's episode repeated? Have been told that I have to attend a surprise party whether I like it or not! So me and the kids miss out on the episode.

UnquietDad · 18/04/2007 19:21
