(After our antenatal thread became somewhat hijacked with talk of Doctor Who)

Hello,

My name's (usually) MsMoss and I've been a Doctor Who Geek for over twenty years now. I grew up with McCoy, stood by it through its years in the wilderness and now watch, proud but slightly bemused, as it is no longer shameful to admit you're a fan.

Anyone else with me? You love the new series but don't want the old to be forgotten?

Join me, stand up and be counted!

UD, i stand corrected - I knew someone on here would know!

UnquietDad · 08/03/2007 09:15

It means that for the first time since The Green Death (when I wasn't watching) I get an episode on my birthday! And so does DD!

Mossie · 08/03/2007 12:08

So the 31st is yours and your dd's birthday? And you still have to go to the wedding of some random people you hardly know? I think at the very least then you should be allowed to take a mini telly with you!

Nikkie I really liked Ghost Light the first time around (I would have been twelve I think) but I have to admit that watching it as an adult, John Hallam (Light) does look like David Dickinson!

ImaWurzel, yes he's back... can I borrow that fan?

UnquietDad · 09/03/2007 09:55

No, the wedding is episode 1, DD's birthday is ep 8 and mine is ep 11!

UnquietDad · 20/03/2007 10:31

Radio Times listings are saying 7.55-8.40 pm, which surely can't be right? I've heard other sources saying 7pm as last year.

Mossie · 20/03/2007 11:45

Oh how strange when I click on the link it just says, "to be announced". Does seem a little late especially for the younger children that watch it.

UnquietDad · 20/03/2007 12:35

you're right, it has changed now! I think it will be 7pm - don't think they'll mess with a winning conjunction.

nikkie · 20/03/2007 21:53

If they changed it think there would be a lot of fuss, with all the kids that watch it.I don't fancy telling dd2 that the Dr is on too late for her!

UnquietDad · 21/03/2007 16:58

Enjoy - tribute to the companions

Brilliantly edited!

nikkie · 21/03/2007 20:10

TA!

UnquietDad · 21/03/2007 23:36

The press event was tonight - some sort of news embargo may be lifted at midnight!

RainbowWalker · 21/03/2007 23:45

Just seen Tribute to the Companions.

One word.

Brilliant!

UnquietDad · 22/03/2007 09:22

Serious Four is confirmed!!
They're staying tight-lipped on whether Tennant will return for it, though... I feel a big cliffhanger ending this year coming on...

UnquietDad · 22/03/2007 13:21

that would be SERIES 4 then.

foxinsocks · 22/03/2007 13:23

they have been showing clips on breakfast in the morning - dd is very excited!

Mossie · 22/03/2007 16:00

LOVED the tribute to the companions, excellent! Pmsl at "dragonfly out in the sun..." just as we had the scene from - iirc - The Green Death!

UnquietDad you're the one with the "inside sources", do you know if DT is going to return from series four?

Foxinsocks I saw the trailer on BBC news this morning; he's such a tart that Doctor, snogging another assistant!

nikkie · 22/03/2007 21:22

spoilers? about Capt Jack if what I think happens does IYSWIM

UnquietDad · 23/03/2007 09:30

Rumours are than he has singned a deal to return, yes.

Mossie · 23/03/2007 15:57

Nikkie what do you think happens? Do tell!

nikkie · 23/03/2007 20:54

Have you watched it? think it involves Jack just before he returns to Torchwood.

UnquietDad · 23/03/2007 21:05

Knew he was back, but I don't know the context.

nikkie · 23/03/2007 21:11

Think that is Jacks last scene (at the end he is descending into Torchwood (according to Freemas website there is a line'he goes all the way down '(or something like that)
Think it looks like the Doctor 'fixes' Jack

nikkie · 23/03/2007 21:19

All three of them are on TV/Radio all week.
Well John Barrowman is on even more than usual

Mossie · 24/03/2007 09:29

Aha! Now the clip makes sense!

Nikkie what are you trying to say about John Barrowman... I don't think it's possible for there to be too much of him on the telly!

FairyEdwards · 24/03/2007 09:33

I know Jack comes back - but don't want to know much more!
