Ah ok, so it's Dougal and Billy Elliott's dad who are Jamie's uncles? That rings a bell now. Isn't BE's dad meant to be older but, because he's disabled, Dougal was appointed head of the family? Or am I now just making up random shit?

Colum is head of the clan and because of his disability has nominated his younger brother Dougal to War Chieftan.

hudyerwheesht · 14/04/2016 14:12

I quite fancy Dougal too.

Be careful of that wiki site, non book readers, spoilers aplenty. I speak from experience.

hudyerwheesht · 14/04/2016 14:14

I like when Colum loses his shit, him putting people in their place is priceless.
Anger must run in that family!

Drywhitethanks · 14/04/2016 17:59

Do we think Jamie is currently on an intensive wine tasting course ready to run the business on Sunday? Grin

OP posts:
hudyerwheesht · 14/04/2016 18:51
Grin I did think Jared was a bit quick to hand over the running of the business!
Drywhitethanks · 14/04/2016 19:42

But he has a goid head for figures so I'm sure it will be. Ok..anyone notice how uch Claire drinks, season 1 had a glass in her hand almost permanently, think hubby running wine co could be a problem for her Grin

RR has beautiful eyes - he is perfect to play Roger! Who is playing B?

OohMavis · 14/04/2016 21:13

Attitcus Sophie Skelton.

Drywhitethanks · 14/04/2016 21:54

Can someone PM me and tell me whether Jamie goes at the end of series 2?? This talk of R and B is making me uneasy. Have only just got over J Snow's death, I need to prepare myself.....if he goes I will. Sad

Re-watched ep 1 again and noticed something: Frank takes Claire to Boston to start their new life together and when Claire arrives in France with Jamie she jokes about a trip to Boston being out of the question, after his seasickness.
Is that relevant or just coincidence? Hmm

MyVisionsComeFromSoup · 15/04/2016 07:26

drywhitethanks have PMed you

OohMavis · 15/04/2016 07:32

It's probably just to draw parallels between the two men, hud. Similarly them holding their hands out for her as Claire begins a new 'adventure' with each of them after arriving in a new place.

hudyerwheesht · 15/04/2016 08:06

Yeah, I thought that oohmavis, just wondered if it was a clue.

I'm probably overthinking most things now in attempt to work out what's going on!

Drywhitethanks · 15/04/2016 08:18

Thanks for all the PMs everyone.

Hudyer I noticed that too and that Boston has been mentioned before in season 1 .......

Also in interviews when SH is asked whether he'd like to travel to the past or future IRL he always says the future Hmm.......not sure I'd like to see Jamie in 1948.

Hudyer I watched an episode from season 1 last night and heard Jamie say your name !!!!!!! Think is was to Angus/Rupert, made me chuckle.

I actually thought Caitriona B was heartbreaking in episode 1, her grief was palpable......really love her as Claire, I think she plays a very real character and her portrayal of a woman's experience in sex is spot on. Looking forward to see how she does pregnancy.

Cerseirys · 15/04/2016 08:43

Diana Gabaldon has definitively said Jamie will not be doing any time travelling.

MelindaGordon · 15/04/2016 08:51

Can I join this thread? Recently broke my ankle and binge watched my way through lots of tv series and discovered Outlander and loved it. I then read the first two books and although not always brilliantly written, they are very compelling and kind of reminded me of the Game of Thrones books in that respect.

I really liked the first episode of series 2 but had to come on here to join in the sort-the-hair-out conversation. Agree that Caitriona B was very good in that episode though.

Drywhitethanks · 15/04/2016 09:02

Melinda I've had the week off too and tried not to spend most of it binge watching failed . I think I may order the books, I love GoT too. Poor you with broken ankle....DS did that playing rugby last year, I know what you're going through.

Cerseirys glad to hear it Smile

Ah no, Richard Rankin needs to be darker and less pretty to be Roger! I imagined him with almost black hair, not mid-brown. Hopefully they'll muss his hair up a bit and he'll be more rugged in costume. I can't remember how he's described in the books now though.

TheHiphopopotamus · 15/04/2016 10:43

Valia I have to say, he's not my idea of Roger either. Happy to be proved wrong once he's on screen though.

hudyerwheesht · 15/04/2016 11:40

drywhitethanks that's the wedding episode I think. I might be repeating myself from upthread but I remember him saying it when he was being teased and getting all excited when I heard it.

I also found another user yesterday called "haudyerwheesht" which is the correct spelling and felt quite put out

Boston was mentioned in S1? Hmmm

Welcome melindagordon - lots of intellectual discussion on all things Outlander related here.

Drywhitethanks · 15/04/2016 12:08

Wonder whether Fraser and mcKenzie tartan sales have gone through the roof since Outlander started

OP posts:
OohMavis · 15/04/2016 12:41

The whole industry is benefiting apparently Dry, especially from American customers who want the real deal, which is lovely.

Linky.

pixieg1rl · 15/04/2016 12:44

Oh that's nice to hear Mavis. I really like the Tartan that they've done for Jamie, really lovely colours.
