That knitted shawl that Claire is wearing in the photo on that link is one of the £140 ones I saw at Doune Castle.

Which is annoying because I really wanted it. Anyone care to knit me one? I'll give you a tenner for it? Grin

The tartan range was nice, though.

Drywhitethanks · 15/04/2016 13:35

Mavis that's great isn't it.

Hudyer that shawl wouldn't be difficult to knit and a lot less than £140

Am thinking that Jamie and Claire should visit Ross and Demelza, they're around at about the same time, how. Cool would that be? Grin maybe a quick stop off on their way home from France, sure Prudie could rustle up something edible or not

I've long admired Claire's knitwear, but I couldn't pull it off Sad

It's almost as sad as the time I realised I'd look completely ridiculous in Katniss' shawl. Sigh.

OohMavis · 15/04/2016 13:36

Or cowl, or whatever that thing is!

AlisonWunderland · 15/04/2016 13:39

Anyone else want to giggle every time Jamie introduces himself?

"I'm Jamie Fraser.
I am....
(signifcant pause)
...Laird BROCH TUARACH!!! "
(slight dead tilt and pause for effect)
(unspoken TA-DAH!!)

I'm not a knitter but I saw a website as obsessed as this one with a pattern for Claire's cowl if anyione is interested?

pixieg1rl · 15/04/2016 13:53

I like this shawl, and it looks pretty easy to make. Perfect for shuffling around my cold house.

I don't much the big bulky cowl, I have the wrong stumpy figure to carry off chunky knitwear

Think only K Balfe, with her model proportions, can pull that chunky knitwear anything really off, sadly

Drywhitethanks · 15/04/2016 14:23

Correction, C Balfe

Am thinking that Jamie and Claire should visit Ross and Demelza,

Best idea ever. Ross and Jamie could have a moody stare-off. Although I think I would be overcome.

Im also sniggering inside at the "Lord Broch Tuarach" proclamations. He really loves that title doesn't he?

The shawl/cowl thing was the softest wool ever - maybe that was the reason for the price. I still want one, and the wrist warmers. Wish I could knit.

AlisonWunderland · 15/04/2016 14:56

I think a Ross / Jamie Shirt-off is more likely...

Cerseirys · 15/04/2016 15:02

An arse-off might not be a bad thing either...

hudyerwheesht · 15/04/2016 15:02

Ooh yes please. Wouldn't know where to look.

hudyerwheesht · 15/04/2016 15:03

...in either of those scenarios.

TheHiphopopotamus · 15/04/2016 15:07

Ooh yes please. Wouldn't know where to look

Really?! Grin

I know where I'd be looking.

hudyerwheesht · 15/04/2016 16:06

Fair enough, thehipho, I should say I wouldn't know which one to look at! Grin

Drywhitethanks · 15/04/2016 16:34

I'd be staring at both from behind my fan Wink

I think Ross suffers from the same hair issues as Jamie, think what they need is a bit of wax or something to tame the frizz

OP posts:
TheHiphopopotamus · 15/04/2016 16:40

Good point hud Grin

I know it's off topic, but does anyone know when Poldark is back?

I don't think Jamie's hair is frizzy, it looked kind of lank. It's more in need of a good cut especially in the fringe area.

MelindaGordon · 15/04/2016 16:41

DrywhiteGrin

Yes, bit of wax indeed

Drywhitethanks · 15/04/2016 16:42

Think it's been postponed until the Autumn Angry TheHiphop.....thankfully I have outlander to fill the void.

OP posts:
TheHiphopopotamus · 15/04/2016 16:49

WHAT?! Angry Autumn?

Humph! Yes, I shall have to make do with drool over Outlander til then.

hudyerwheesht · 15/04/2016 17:44

Autumn?!! WTAF?

Angry
Drywhitethanks · 15/04/2016 19:02

Crap isn't it?
But we could continue letching our intellectual analysis of tv shows when Poldark starts in the Autumn after Outlander is finished .

So, after a few Wine And after seeing SH leading the tartan parade in NY I have revised my kilt wearing preferences. Have always been a traditionalist non Scot so excuse my naff terminology Aran (?) socks, black shoes, waistcoat or black jacket.........I'm now thinking knee boots/leather jacket/scarf combo is much better on SH, possibly not on the Scotsmen I knowSad Grin
