Am so excited this is back. Loved it so much last time I came very close to applying for this series but bottled it. Wish I had now, oh well.

NotJ not so much a spoiler really as they wouldn't be airing the series if something tragic had happened, or I wouldn't have thought so anyway.

They've got the support boat and emergency crew but the sea can be so fierce there and dangerous, I don't imagine they can always reach the shore.

I couldn't understand the decision to travel around the island via the rocks, what with the slippery surface, the rough and high waves and the potential to get cut off.

NotJanine · 22/04/2016 10:49

I did say as I was watching it - it can't be too bad or they wouldn't show it!

I didn't want to read it as I want to have the suspense when I watch the next episode - not knowing how badly he is hurt/if he can carry or or not.

I can understand that going round the coastline means that they can't get lost or end up going round in circles, and should be quicker. But it did look quite dodgy.
Imagine being stuck in a little cove with the tide coming in Shock

When's the next episode? Keep thinking I've missed something.

We're On!

Friolero · 25/04/2016 21:14

Very scary. I'm glad they've rescued Paddy. They're crazy for going round those cliffs.

Tigresswoods · 25/04/2016 21:14

So presumably they couldn't all get in that helicopter & had to risk their lives again on the rocks?!

af2000 · 25/04/2016 21:15

Looks like a set up to me. That final shot before the ad break showed the helicopter taking off from a much larger beach than the one they were on, and at the bottom of the screen I could see a boat... Hmm

ExasperatedAlmostAlways · 25/04/2016 21:17

Doctor Dan was really stupid to have taken them round the rocks! He really should of known to of risk assessed better than that and not put them in such danger.

ExasperatedAlmostAlways · 25/04/2016 21:19

af there was a boat though.

EnriqueTheRingBearingLizard · 25/04/2016 21:20

It was a beyond ridiculous venture, the risk assessment was off the scale but they still went.

Am so relieved Paddy's ok though.

af2000 · 25/04/2016 21:25

But I thought the whole reason they had to bring in a helicopter was because they couldn't get a boat on the shore? Hence why the rescuers had to swim ashore. Just seems a little contrived..

af2000 · 25/04/2016 21:26

To clarify I don't mean that Paddy falling was contrived, that clearly happened, but the drama around 'rescuing' him didn't seem all it was made out to be..

ExasperatedAlmostAlways · 25/04/2016 21:28

Yeah it possibly could be made to look more dramatic.

ItsAllGoingToBeFine · 25/04/2016 21:29

Yeah it possibly could be made to look more dramatic.

Of course it is! Bear Grylls is renowned for it which is why Ray Mears should be chief scout

starry0ne · 25/04/2016 21:31

I can't help thinking this is one of the least successful series ever..I don't remember them ever starving this badly before.

af2000 · 25/04/2016 21:31

With you there, Ray Mears is my hero

Very disappointed to see the girls doing the cleaning. I would love it if they went out hunting and caught something!

ExasperatedAlmostAlways · 25/04/2016 21:34

Yeah there's absolutely no way id be sitting around waiting for some one else to hunt for me. Surely, they'd be more successful all going hunting then all spending an hour together cleaning if it's really needed. I appreciate they are functioning on minimum calories and starving but there still seems to be a lot of time being wasted sitting round.

ItsAllGoingToBeFine · 25/04/2016 21:34

I don't remember them ever starving this badly before.

They are obviously failing to find all of the planted food...

"In order to keep the men and women safe Bear ensured that there was enough water, indigenous animals and vegetation for survival as long as the men and women had the ingenuity to catch, kill or utilise the natural resources to last the course of the experiment. Modifications included introducing paca, turkeys, iguanas, caiman, boa constrictors, coconuts, sugar cane and yucca to the island. All are indigenous to the area."

Tigresswoods · 25/04/2016 21:52

They were starving last year too.

af2000 · 25/04/2016 21:54

YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS if you want a job doing....

Whilst the blokes are walking around in the bush hacking their own legs off.

Susiesoap7 · 26/04/2016 10:50

I thought it was odd that the helicopter suddenly appeared landed and took him off! Sure it was a set up
