Their interventions seem random, scattergun approach - hand out cash here, pay one girl's school fees there. There seems to be a distinct lack of strategy, systems or procedures.

And it sounds like a very top-heavy organisation with little or no forward planning.

I agree if she had any integrity, she would have fallen on her sword and resigned for the good of the charity. Serious God Delusions going on.

I don't like how she's bragging about pressuring philanthropists into donating money either.

I think it's because they started small and innovative. And they did seem to be doing something quite different and groundbreaking. But you can't do that and grow without introducing rules and procedures and that would get in the way of the power of love theory.

She clearly seemed to think that the rules didn't apply to her. Complete megalomaniac.

oooh I know that woman who is talking now - the one who is crying about it being possible to work with kids as a family would. I think this is how it happened - good, decent people who see the problem and could see the power of some of these interventions. But you can't build an organisation on just that.

No, the govt (and others) gave you millions. You ran out of money because of gross mismanagement.

I recall on a previous thread someone stated that they had received more money in a year than the whole of the Scottish Mental Health budget.

I did think that the reactions when it closed were very odd at the time; but if you had spent the last however many years relying on KC for money every week.
