Anyone see Shetland tonight? New drama series on BBC1?

I liked it! Nice to see the scenery, plus Scottish accents on a BEeb programme.

Yes, but Glasgow policeman also had black hair! V confusing ;)

OldCrowMedicineShow · 18/02/2016 18:25

Confused Maybe the Glasgow policeman helped set up a fake Tosh disappearance to lure the bad guys into the club.

GraceKellysLeftArm · 18/02/2016 19:09

I think the leather-jacket Glaswegian polis is a baddun - I think digestive man is going to be most irate that someone's messed with his Tosh and I think we can expect him to whack someone with a 2 by 4 at some point whilst stalking Tosh.

Bloke at the airport definitely a baddie, plied her with booze, didn't have a flight to catch... but too good looking to resist. Blush

SealSong · 18/02/2016 21:36

I've only just managed to watch the latest episode. It's all a little confusing. Who were all the posh people in the Glasgow restaurant where Rhona and her lady friend went in and Rhona left saying she'd rather get a fish supper? It was the same Asian solicitor as came to warn Jimmy off on Shetland.

bigbadbarry · 18/02/2016 21:48

I think Anna Chancellor said when they went in, that he was the tame solicitor to the big bad gang boss (no idea what he is called). Then he was smarmy and Rhona didn't like it.
Are those two an item?

SealSong · 18/02/2016 22:02

Yes I think they are

Missanneshirley · 18/02/2016 23:36

Yes I'm sure they are a couple. Smarmy restaurant guy is mccolls lawyer, was schmoozing other clients (in the ubiquitous chip? )

GraceKellysLeftArm · 19/02/2016 08:22

Some of you need to watch the programme properly and stop "multi-tasking"! Grin

Who is the solicitor? He is gorrrrrrgeous and I just can't place his face?

Yes, Rhona is gay.

diddl · 19/02/2016 08:34

The solicitor is played by Ace Bhatti.

He's been in quite a bit of stuff including The Bill &Eastenders.

He was in The Shadow Line.

Gruach · 19/02/2016 08:43

Felt a bit bad for the tame solicitor - he's clearly a late developer in the area of conscience and not keen to read of Perez's limbs (or relatives' limbs) being scattered across northern Europe.

I absolutely demand an appearance by the roadkill artist tonight. It's obvious that after a good scrub and a couple of etiquette lessons he would be the catch of the century.

GraceKellysLeftArm · 19/02/2016 14:49

Thank you diddl - that's me lost in google image search before school pick up. Oh my, I see he's from Nottingham, I thought his Glaswegian accent was the real deal and I was S.O.L.D!

diddl · 19/02/2016 15:15

IMDb page

notonyurjellybellynelly · 19/02/2016 15:16

Im loving it.

Movingonmymind · 19/02/2016 15:17

And why's Kalinda wandered in from The a Good a Wife?!!

Although thank god, as I love that programme but detest her caricature of a role in it

GraceKellysLeftArm · 19/02/2016 21:17

Anyone else cried yet? :(

Salemthecat · 19/02/2016 21:22

Really powerful stuff; poor Tosh.

diddl · 19/02/2016 21:29

Terrible.

Knew it would be bad but hoping not that.

Looking at Radio Times & it looks to not be on next week as there's rugby on??!!

Hope I've misread.

Salemthecat · 19/02/2016 21:58

Oh I'm crying now. Sad

diddl · 19/02/2016 22:00

Me too!

2weeks!!

GraceKellysLeftArm · 19/02/2016 22:01

Wow! Without a doubt the best drama I've watched on TV in months - probably since Dr Foster. That scene with Billy.

Libra · 19/02/2016 22:01

Wept throughout. Very well done. The actress playing Tosh is brilliant. Also don't trust ASHER btw.

diddl · 19/02/2016 22:01

Hasn't there already been a two week gap due to football?

SealSong · 19/02/2016 22:04

Oh god. That was utterly heart rending.

I'm glad though that the impact of rape is getting shown though, plus an acknowledgement of how the police do not do enough for rape conviction.

Brilliantly acted by Alison O'Donnell.

SealSong · 19/02/2016 22:05

Yes that last scene with Billy was wonderful.

GraceKellysLeftArm · 19/02/2016 22:08

Libra Asha has sooooo got it going on with my sexy evil lawyer - she said she moved to Glasgow and met a guy... didn't say anything about leaving him.

Brilliant, brilliant, brilliant.

And digestive man was lovely.
