Anyone see Shetland tonight? New drama series on BBC1?

I liked it! Nice to see the scenery, plus Scottish accents on a BEeb programme.

^ That was a polite request, BTW. I know 'anyone can post on here' etc etc, but still. If you wouldn't mind, that would be fab Smile

diddl · 07/02/2016 20:04

"There is an off button, Diddl."

No, really?

That's where I'm going wrong then!

Good grief! Am I really spoiling it for you because I'm not enjoying it as much as you?

i loved the others & find this disappointing by comparison.

Will keep watching as I want to know the solution to Robbie's murder & I do like the characters.

So, I'll keep posting, thanks & you can hide me!

A few of you might fund this funny:

dabonxie.com/crime/843-shetlanders-side-with-murderer-after-concluding-that-detective-perez-is-not-from-around-here/

I must admit it did throw me even though I know Perez is from Fair Isle, when he and Tosh were walking up West Nile Street (??) and him and Tosh were talking about clubbing in Glasgow, because of course wir Jimmy doesn't have a Shetland accent (only Sandy does).

SealSong · 07/02/2016 20:18

Well it sounded like you were inflicting it upon yourself rather than enjoying it which is why I said that, Diddl. But if you want to join in the plot speculation on here etc then cool.

diddl · 07/02/2016 20:39

It wasn't supposed to come across like that.

Enjoyed the first two eps, this one not so much.

Bit formulaic for me.

Witness in protection killed, gangland thug released...

Love the scenery though.

Davros · 07/02/2016 22:03

Agreed Diddl but we're not allowed to say Hmm

Gruach · 07/02/2016 22:58

Doesn't bother me if people express dissatisfaction. Grin It prompts me to examine my reasons for liking something.

diddl · 08/02/2016 06:40

Well we all like different things, don't we?

Heavens, I watch Midsomer Murders so I'm hardly discerningGrin

Just found this last episode dull after the first two.

Do like Ciaran Hinds though!

SealSong · 08/02/2016 18:56

OK I admit I was being very precious, but hey. I'm a bit protective over wee Jimmy Grin

Don't mind me. Friday night is the highlight of my sad, tragic life

GraceKellysLeftArm · 08/02/2016 20:07

You think your life is single and tragic? Imagine your hottest option being invited out for a digestive! Grin

SealSong · 08/02/2016 22:22

Hah yes, I shall never look at Biscuit in the same way again Grin

CocktailQueen · 10/02/2016 21:09

Why did Perez shag the minder - can't remember her name? Can see the motivation for him, but why fund she? Was she just madly attracted to Perez?

Anyone else getting annoyed by perez's one facial expression? He always looks like he's about to smirk. Not good or hard, especially when facing Glaswegian gangsters...

CocktailQueen · 10/02/2016 21:10

Did she, not fund she!

And the man burning the gun case? The young bloke with the odd hair from the care home. He has a long neck - so did yon man.

But where is the gun if he burned the case?

Gruach · 10/02/2016 21:27

Smelted into sculpture?

CocktailQueen · 11/02/2016 09:17

Maybe, Gruach...

Getting ready for tonight. It said in the TV guide that Perez is back in Shetland ad focusing on the nursing home tonight...

musicinspring1 · 12/02/2016 21:51

Anyone???

TooMuchRain · 12/02/2016 21:59

Argh didn't like that ending!

2rebecca · 12/02/2016 22:08

I'm not clear why gangster 70 year old was in a care home. In Fife he'd never get placed, he seems fully mbile and mentally capable. Do the script writers think anyone over 65 can just walk in to a care home place? Young teenage casual helpers aren't normally given the keys to the drugs cupboard either, that's usually a senior care assistant job with controlled drugs more protected in a care home than they are in old folk living in their own homes. It would be easier to get drugs befriending old dears in the community who want a bit of gardening done (not that Shetland does gardening)

GraceKellysLeftArm · 12/02/2016 22:14

Makes phone call

Ah jimmy? It's grace. You see the thing is, the flask in the kye hoose (cow shed abandoned building) Is from ikea - and I had my front door unlocked when it went missing in October. Aye, I think the shooter is one of the men from the council who fixed my heating.

Case closed.

GraceKellysLeftArm · 12/02/2016 22:15

As for the gangster, this place is overrun with Glaswegians from the east end. Reader, I married one. Wink

musicinspring1 · 12/02/2016 22:19

How did the gunner guy get to the airport so quickly and know what she looked like??

Missanneshirley · 12/02/2016 22:40

I presumed they'd followed her taxi? Bit dense of her not to have been more suspicious?

Missanneshirley · 12/02/2016 22:41

And there is surely NO hotel in kelvinbridge that looks like the one the fiscal was hiding in? ! I
