...but how will we cope without Martin? Without his warmth and humour won't it be a bit bleak?

That was fantastic! Really sad but bittersweet.

I think a lot of clever mners got quite a few of those... Emil being Freddie 's dad, the code being for a sperm donor, Saga off to help Henrik.

helzapoppin2 · 19/12/2015 23:03

I hope Saga and Henrik go off and open a coffee shop in Malmo and leave all the gruesome stuff behind them!

Hissy · 19/12/2015 23:04

Cannot not don't

quirkychick · 19/12/2015 23:05

Hissy me too! When Lillian told Henrik it was Alice, and then on till the end. This series was so much more about the relationship than the murderer, really.

profpoopsnagle · 19/12/2015 23:12

I think Saga died. I think Henrik is now seeing Saga like he did his wife.

Mince314 · 19/12/2015 23:15

Phew! The ending didn't break my heart.

Hangingbasket14 · 19/12/2015 23:15

Brilliant TV!

Mince314 · 19/12/2015 23:17

We're all so sharp we cut ourselves though.

We had it all figured out.

gingercat12 · 19/12/2015 23:18

It did break my heart. It was like the Road by Cormac Mccarthy for me. Any parent's worst nightmare is that your child is out there defenseless on their own.

prof I so wish you are wrong. (sorry)

Can't be Prof - wasn't Saga driving the car when they went over the bridge at the end?

Stellar67 · 19/12/2015 23:21

I agree prof. In fact I was howling because Henrick is all alone.

Hissy · 19/12/2015 23:21

Nah prof ghosts don't drive Porsches... Alice couldn't leave the house.

Saga being told she was needed was what stopped her

Stellar67 · 19/12/2015 23:22

Oh glad she was driving. I feel better now!

quirkychick · 19/12/2015 23:22

profpoopsnagle but he sees Saga at her flat and in her car...

The Road is kind of beautiful too, in a very bleak way.

gingercat12 · 19/12/2015 23:27

The similarity between Emil's and Henrik's daughter's age and possible circumstances totally cut me up.

I really hope I am wrong too. I think the ending means the possibility of season 4 could go either way, they are making a decision next Spring. Henrik connected with Saga most in her car, so her driving is constructed by him, remember she told him he could never drive it.

Mince314 · 19/12/2015 23:51

I see the ending as the two of them together. He will stand beside her and support her proving her innocence, and she'll help him figure out what happened to his daughters. They're neither of them exactly carefree but they have each other now.

VegetablEsoup · 20/12/2015 00:05

I absolutely loved this! brilliant tv. this is why I gladly pay tv license.
an almost sort of happy ending.
anyone else notice saga's face changing from hard and colourless to lively after the train szene?

BritabroadinAsia · 20/12/2015 00:08

Henrik never touched Alice or the girls when he saw them, did he? But he held Saga after the train passed... so am hoping you're wrong, prof.

Truly wonderful television. Feel positively bereft that it's over Sad

Mince314 · 20/12/2015 00:15

Stop that. Saga er ikke død. Sure, Henrik was in the passenger seat when they were driving back to Denmark!

RomComPhooey · 20/12/2015 00:16

I had to watch on catch up. Have just finished. It was fantastic, but I'm on a bit of a downer now you've proposed the Saga as ghost theory, as I thought she had chosen life. It was a proper emotional crescendo - I feel properly wrung out now.

Elendon · 20/12/2015 00:46

Shed a few too many tears there. I have decided that I want a Henrik in my life. Someone just as strong and fragile as me.

Beautiful ending.

HanSolo · 20/12/2015 00:58

So it was Emil.
Poor guy, what an awful life.
Actually, do any of them have good, happy lives?
sigh...

StoptheRavelry · 20/12/2015 08:09

It got a lot easier to watch after the baby survived (I'd have tucked it into my jumper so it didn't fall? sorry, but I would!!)

I wondered about Saga just being a ghost after Prof suggested it, but was awake all night with ds3 and figured it couldn't be as she was driving, not him.
The way she turned to look at him straight in the face though - that was something she had never done before. The whole eye contact thing.

It did look spooky.

I don't know where to get a synopsis that confirms it either way.

StoptheRavelry · 20/12/2015 08:16

Wiki says she's alive.
