...but how will we cope without Martin? Without his warmth and humour won't it be a bit bleak?

I've just realised I've been calling the first victim Hanne instead of whatever her actual name is! It cracks me up holstein , our Bridge catch phrase is a deadpan Saga, "Ja." m.youtube.com/watch?v=xgK8xDfSib0

Having had the day off yesterday and binged rewatched all episodes to try and work out what the fenn is going on, I have the overwhelming urge to use bra liberally in my day to day.

I have however treated myself to en kop te Brew

Hangingbasket14 · 17/12/2015 20:11

Hissy, any pearls of wisdom now you have re watched?

Hissy · 17/12/2015 20:53

Emil. "The One That Got Away"

Anneka would think of him like this, where is she?

Claes had a shovel with mud on it and a roll of big black bin bags when Ã…sa went there to confess her lies about the pg.

Was it his father he took from her? Buried him?

But who else knew about the cottage. It's location? Who was watching them, waiting for them to get there.

Freddie was close behind her and Marc, so the killer was already there, knew they were going there.

So no. No more clue than I did have...

ovenchips · 17/12/2015 21:24

Yes, I still think as I said upthread that Emil is only one with links to a lot of the people murdered. Basically all people who destroyed his childhood. And one of the only ones apart from Claes to display art knowledge.

He worked at A&L logistics where first murder took place, which also gave him access to that yellow car and would explain why the toy catalogue (which contained items used to stage the murders) Henrik found had the order form missing as Emil ordered the stuff while he worked there.

I reckon he faked his own abduction (I checked there were no scenes with him and murderer lurking in it) and staged it in Annika's house to frame her. I think when he said Annika was lower in foster house pecking order than him, he was lying and suspect Annika was awful to him. Thus his motive to frame/ hurt her.

His flat does not seem lived in - suggesting he lives somewhere secret, with the doll's house?

I think Helle Anker's fertility clinic that she used to run is going to be the link and why he murdered her. If Freddie was a sperm donor maybe? We've been carefully told it is Freddie's wife who's unable to have children, not him.

It's got to be motivated by family, the motif throughout series has been about dysfunctional / no contact family relationships. I can't remember if we know anything of Emil's mother but Freddie being his father would tie in with the theme.

You could be on to something with this line of enquiry. I reckon someone will find Annika's body (courtesy of Claus adding another notch to his patricide belt) and the time of death will establish that Emil could not have been kidnapped by Annika, refocussing the enquiry on Emil.

BrushtheHeat · 17/12/2015 21:59

Ooh yes oven romcom definitely. It will be bittersweet finding out

ovenchips · 17/12/2015 22:04

Yes and also meant to say the clues Emil provided which enabled them to pinpoint the house he said he was held in - the main clue was the fire engines. I think it said someone had set a fire in a skip which seems like something Emil could have easily set up to ensure fire engines were in area, enabling the police to get very accurate idea of where house must have been in relation to the field he said he was found in.

Hangingbasket14 · 17/12/2015 22:16

DH's reason for thinking Emil wasn't actually kidnapped was his recollection of very specific identifying sounds very quickly after a traumatic event, seemed a bit off.

SquareRootOfPie · 17/12/2015 22:17

hissy, hvorfor valgte du dansk ikke svenska?

Holstein · 17/12/2015 22:40

How on earth did he injure himself on his head though?
I admit, his 'kidnapping' was very suspect.

Hissy · 17/12/2015 22:46

square

SquareRootOfPie · 17/12/2015 23:03

god beslutning! har du set Dicte? og Arvingerne? Mor dig god Grin
It's hard to speak Danish in Denmark. I went in to shops and restaurants and hotel check ins talking spanish to my daughter and then practised my Danish and they still replied in English.

ovenchips · 17/12/2015 23:43

Holstein that's true about unlikelihood of injuring his own head though.

SquareRootOfPie · 17/12/2015 23:45

Maybe he whacked himself with a crow bar. Hard but not too hard.

RomComPhooey · 17/12/2015 23:46

If you threw yourself down the stairs, I imagine you'd get a battering and could sustain a head injury.

MadFestiveGnome · 18/12/2015 03:55

That means that Emil must have got rid of Annika somehow, or how else would he be able to stage all that stuff in her top floor? Unless he knew she'd be away at the convention... but then she'd come back and find it all surely.

I think upthread I meant that despite both being connected to the art and therefore the murders, neither Freddie or Claes have links to the murder victims themselves... Helle Anker, Hans, weird PE teacher, social worker etc. The fact that these specific people were chosen for the murders points to the foster kids who do have links to them.

Mad theory: is it Annika who is doing the first murders for herself to satisfy her own vengeance and then the final 'artwork' involving Freddie's surrogate baby is a way to get vengeance on behalf of Claes who she loves? She is clearly besotted with him as evidenced by the pictures above her bed and must know his history as it sounded pretty public.

Agree that it was weird how Hans suddenly and inexplicably deteriorated.

NeverEverAnythingEver · 18/12/2015 08:01

Do you reckon somebody did Hans in? That's going to piss Saga off no end.

Hangingbasket14 · 18/12/2015 08:38

I still think Anneka and Emil are either in it together or acting separately but with the same thing in mind. I just can't work out if Anneka is Hans's daughter or a completely separate foster child and Hans was in some other way involved (knew of the abuse and ignored etc). I tested my Emil as Freddie's son theory on DH and he grudgingly agreed it was plausible.

MadFestiveGnome · 18/12/2015 08:46

But if someone went to the trouble of using a sperm donor (ie Freddie) to have a baby, don't you think they'd be keeping it, not fostering it out?

MadFestiveGnome · 18/12/2015 08:46

Agree it's an interesting theory though.

Holstein · 18/12/2015 08:55

Mad- Emil said his mother died.

Hangingbasket14 · 18/12/2015 08:55

I don't necessarily think Freddie was a sperm doner, possibly got a girl pregnant/gave up the child etc, I think that any child would feel very bitter that he/she was given up and that the biological father is now wealthy/successful and now having another child. I think the sperm doner father was Annikas *this could all be total rubbish but have ill DC's so spent quite a few days over thinking!

MadFestiveGnome · 18/12/2015 09:06

Ahhh this is suddenly all quite convincing. I forgot Emil's mother had died.

Emil strikes me as quite charming and nice though, surely too nice to be doing all this horrible murdering. His empty un-lived-in apartment was dodgy though.

MadFestiveGnome · 18/12/2015 09:08

So along these lines, maybe Freddie gave up the child during the hard times he talked about in his speech at the art opening?

Anyone think there was anything strange about Freddie's expensive watch being revealed as a fake when Marc tried to sell it? I think some secrets are going to come out about Freddie in the last two episodes Grin
