...but how will we cope without Martin? Without his warmth and humour won't it be a bit bleak?

OP posts:

I know it's bonkers but I still don't think Sagas mother has died - we only have Linns word for it as Saga and no one else in plot have not seen the body.
So even though Saga's mother 'died' first she could still have interfered with Hans. I like the Hans theory btw.

SagaNorensLeatherTrousers · 17/12/2015 13:09

I initially thought the same thing, Tir that somehow they decided to test Saga in this way but it really is bonkers, isn't it? I mean, they couldn't be having some departmental guy questioning Saga on the suspicion of murder...that would be taking things WAY too far.

BrushtheHeat · 17/12/2015 13:14

Oh yeah saga cos it was like.a body shutdown and brain death so took a little while.

BrushtheHeat · 17/12/2015 13:16

Iswym tir Linn is also creepy and has crossed professional boundaries before..

StreamofConsciousness · 17/12/2015 13:28

I like Hanging basket's idea with the murderer being Freddy's child and them wanting the baby as they don't want Freddy to have a child after they grew up in care. My moneys on Emil though, not Annika. Morten referred to his killer as his brother, so they must be male, and doubt they'd make the killer someone they are only introducing at the end of the show. The police had a list of all the foster children and Morten wasn't on it though, so I'd guess Freddy was a sperm donor as with what Brush said and fathered both Morten and Emil. Their ages are about young enough for that to work...

Besom · 17/12/2015 13:49

Peter is no one, I meant Freddie sorry I'm ill. I've just watched the first one again and Morton asks if his father knows his mother has died. The wife says 'Villy has been away for years' and Morton just looks at her. Morton was clearly unwell but...it adds weight to his father being someone else.

Tirfarthoin · 17/12/2015 13:55

The thing is she has/had munchhousen (sp?!) by proxy, so she is absolutely capable of being that manipulative so that she can the be centre of attention with the whole 'see I told you my daughter is nuts poor, poor me' routine

Besom · 17/12/2015 13:55

Although the fertility clinic didn't open until 1988. My brain hurts

BrushtheHeat · 17/12/2015 14:01

Also, Emil is very slender so could look like a female waist in some of the killer shots? I was thinking that maybe Morten was brought up by Hanne and the others were fostered so there's jealousy been festering... And I like that stream about Freddy being the Father. Perhaps the killer is angry and is trying to make a parallel with him buying art, businesses and now "buying" his child. Perhaps I'm too invested?

Hangingbasket14 · 17/12/2015 14:19

I hope I haven't led us all up the garden path! I bet it turns out to be nothing to do with the foster family!

Besom · 17/12/2015 14:35

That's half the fun of it Hangingbasket! After Morton says his brother killed him they explore the possibility that villy had other kids but then soon get sidetracked by the kill brothers thing. They don't consider that villy may not have been Morton's biological father.

The third kill brother killed himself two years ago and was called Kevin Larsen. Significant? Probably not.

StreamofConsciousness · 17/12/2015 14:36

Too late now Hanging, you've given me an idea and I'm not letting go! Grin I really like that parallel idea Brush. I was about to steal agree with it when I realised that the killer was going after the baby even before they realised it wasn't really Asa's. Still, it's far more clever than any symbolism I can think of. And there will be symbolism behind it somewhere. Always is with these programmes.

Hangingbasket14 · 17/12/2015 14:42

Did they look into Villy at all? I recall it was all sort of dismissed after asking the initial question of if they had another son. Brush you could be right, I was sure it was a woman (especially that shot of Hans being chloroformed) but could well be a slender male. Did you think that Hans recognised his attacker?, I think I remember him having a flash of recognition but may be imagining it.

BrushtheHeat · 17/12/2015 14:45

stream that does shit up my idea somewhat, doesn't it?! Grin

BrushtheHeat · 17/12/2015 14:48

hanging When I first saw Emil I did think he came across as rather pretty and delicate! Plus, he was shown in the first episode, when he really didn't need to be, so I reckon he's significant.

rumbelina · 17/12/2015 14:52

I'm still not convinced Emil is involved because we saw him have a lightbulb moment over the murders/artworks connection. He didn't have to put that on for anyone as was on his own. Unless he made the connection and THEN became involved with Annika.

StreamofConsciousness · 17/12/2015 14:57

Ooh yes, he was at that singles night thing! That does seem like rather unnecessary unless he's the killer. Plus Henrik found him quite irritating, which basically confirms he's a vengeful, dismembering psycho Grin

StreamofConsciousness · 17/12/2015 15:11

I thought that too rumbelina - the light bulb moment ruled him out (unless it was just bad writing). As I don't want to admit The Bridge could ever have bad writing ever, and I really think it's him, my thought is that he suddenly thought of a way of connecting all of the murders so far so that he could go to the police to either toy with them (they always want to prove they're smarter than the police) or point the finger in Freddy's direction. Some of the supposed connections were very loose and to be fair, if you've got a room with over 30 pieces of artwork you can surely find some way to tie at least one of them to any murder ever committed. Art is apparently always what you make of it. Of course, if that is it I have no idea for why the earlier killings were so weird other than for the fact Emil just is.

Besom · 17/12/2015 15:48

Colbert is a French name non? Just wondering about the Paris connection.

BrushtheHeat · 17/12/2015 17:56

Completely.childish and irrelevant I know but the video that Hissy posted on page 17 at 18.17 yesterday has an interview with Saga. At 19secs it sounds really like she says "Aryan Smackdown." Just made me.laugh that's all. I'm such a loser but one.of.my favourite The Bridge watching past times is listening to the language and sniggering at things that sound funny. Lightens the mood a bit Smile Blush

Allofaflumble · 17/12/2015 18:20

Just bringing Hanne with the blown off leg back into the story. Don't know why but I find it strange that there has been no mention except investigator said she overheard Saga saying she didn't like her mother.

Mum seemed to appear after the accident. As the Famous Five said "I'm far too tired to solve this mystery tonight".

Holstein · 17/12/2015 19:05

brushtheheat "cancelling Christmas" in a pseudo Danish-English accent has become a catchphrase in this house!

Tirfarthoin · 17/12/2015 19:18

If Henrik is good with faces why didn't he recognise Emil from the art gallery?

Holstein · 17/12/2015 19:25

Or Lukas? (though he was very cagey about that one!)
