Marcus a bit rude to Gail I thought when others (on this series) have been just as 'not up to Masterchef' standard
but loved the Marcus look of scorn though. Smile

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 25/11/2015 07:13

Maybe off camera she followed through on her threat to ask for a hug before she started cooking! Grin

mollie123 · 25/11/2015 08:20

maybe she is one of us on here and could not resist the thought of hugging Marcus - good point Grin

Macaronipony · 25/11/2015 13:51

Has anyone else noticed Marcus/Monica's obsession with "fresh almonds"? It's rivaling the contestants' obsession with honeycomb.

BobandKate0 · 25/11/2015 16:53

As predicted, another lady chef in place with this weeks new lot - definitely a quota system in place.
Otherwise where does one buy fresh almonds ,same place Nigella shops ?

SallyStarbuck · 25/11/2015 17:07

But their obsession is certainly paying off, as no one knows what to do with the buggers!

Lottapianos · 25/11/2015 17:09

Squoosh, I thought of you during last night's programming when Marcus gave a contestant a hard stare and said 'So, how was that for you?' Wink I felt my own knees tremble a bit, can't imagine what state you must have been in Grin

IHaveBrilloHair · 25/11/2015 18:07

I got a huge box of food goodies from a friend today, including a bar of honeycomb chocolate, all I could think was melting it on a savoury dish for the lolz.

iklboo · 25/11/2015 20:36

I don't think there's enough money on the planet to persuade me to eat pig's trotter......

Igneococcus · 25/11/2015 20:42

They are nice if made properly.
Like Joey and the guy from Skye.

chocomochi · 25/11/2015 21:44

The bone trotters task was difficult!

BobandKate0 · 25/11/2015 21:46

At last one of the quota shealia's has got through ! It can't be course she is pretty ,can it ? surely Marcus wouldn't let that colour his judgement.Hmm

Igneococcus · 26/11/2015 06:17

I wonder how many women apply to take part in the first place. I don't think it's many.
Joey looked competent and organized in the technical challenge though. I thought that even before the judges commented on it.

squoosh · 26/11/2015 17:16

Lotta I think my reaction was along the lines of 'hnnngghhhh errrr mmmmm'. Lust makes me very eloquent! Grin

They're a mixed bag this year aren't they? More duds than anything else. Dearest Marcus was quite right to give short shrift to bowl of soup woman.

I think Joey and Joe from last night and Danilo from last week are my faves so far. Glad to see that Marcus merely gave Joey a fatherly smile of affection. Who was that strumpet last year who tried to flirt with him? Luciana I think her name was.

And I know I've said it before but in the name of Holy Jesus and all the blessed saints would someone please arrange a dreadful accident between Gregg and a fish bone, Gregg and a sous vide bath, Gregg and an anything! The raised eyebrow 'shocked' faces and nodding 'happy' faces he makes during the skills test to Monica and then to Marcus are pushing me to the brink.

Lottapianos · 26/11/2015 17:48

Marcus gets more yum as each series goes on. I'm almost at drooling stage now.

So many deeply shite contestants! Shocking standard so far.

Could not agree more about Gregg, even if I wanted to. He's at least 20 times more annoying than I remember. What is the point of him apart from bellowing and telling poor sods to stop shaking? Its critics tonight so at least we get a bit of peace!

IHaveBrilloHair · 26/11/2015 18:08

I read somewhere that Gregg has a share/investment/somethingy in the show so they can't get rid of him.
He's so bloody annoying.

SheHasAWildHeart · 26/11/2015 18:22

He was shouting far too much, I really want a Gordon Ramsey type chef to tell him to stfu!!

iklboo · 26/11/2015 20:46

Ah. The Laughing Cavalier, Peter Griffin & Tracey as tonight's critics.

Gosh squoosh, Marcus got pretty excited about Joey's passion fruit tart. I didn't think he had much 'wow' and whooping in him but I was wrong Wink

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 26/11/2015 23:08

They all got excited about Joey's cooking, to be fair. I think she could win it.

What annoys me about Gregg is that at the start of each new round Sean Pertwee says that the new chefs are going to have to tackle tasks set by Gregg Wallace and top chefs Monica and Marcus. He doesn't set any tests! He's just there to make faces and give Marcus the chance to look at him with utter contempt!

iklboo · 26/11/2015 23:17

Maybe Gregg's test is getting through the challenge without punching him in the face or drowning him in the sous vide bath?

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 26/11/2015 23:19

Yes, I think that's a special challenge for Marcus, actually. I wonder how they've managed to keep him away from the critics' round?

iklboo · 01/12/2015 20:20

OFFS - Gregg is making sex noises about crepes Suzette. It's making me stomach churn.

SheHasAWildHeart · 02/12/2015 09:53

He's either over excited or shaking his head in a patronising way.

squoosh · 02/12/2015 14:11

Lottapianos Marcus got very excited indeed by Joey's tart. He was positively glowing. He soon balanced that out though by being scathing about what she produced for the critics. Very ying and yang is my Marcus!
