Series 2 about to start in France, but all I can find about it being shown here is that it will be in the autumn. Does anyone know any more?

Meanwhile, series 1 is 4OD, it's obviously my duty to watch it to remind myself of the background.

I thought that too about Victor drawing things and they come true. But Chloe (Adele's daughter) draws too. She drew a picture of Simon with a gun to his head. But she couldn't have made that come true as she wasn't alive when he died!

I don't understand any of it at the moment!

fairyqueen · 23/10/2015 23:20

I assume it's ok to have very little clue who's dead and who's alive most of the time?

BlueEyeshadow · 23/10/2015 23:27

I have very little idea of what's going on most of the time, and a shockingly bad memory for the last series.

Re subtitling, it's a very specialised skill to get the gist of the information into a certain number of characters that can be read quickly before someone else starts speaking... Interesting article about it from the Grauniad here

VodkaJelly · 24/10/2015 14:23

I thought those tied to the trees were the missing police, could be wrong though!

Moln · 25/10/2015 07:23

Ooh never thought about the drawings victor does coming true. Nor had I thought of Claire being dead, though if she's dead then wouldn't Juliet be dead? But Victor, Mrs Costa, Juliet and He's-not-called-victor lady had a conversation about Juliet not being dead didn't they.

Were there missing police!?

What's the story with Adeles baby, I wasn't too sure if he was supposed to be dead then she touched him and then he wasn't.

I know nothing anymore. I'm so confused.

TheOrchardKeeper · 25/10/2015 08:04

I thought Adele's baby was destined to be one of the returned so he had to die. And that Simon asked Chloe to look after him (aka get her mum to at least go and see/touch him) to bring him back. Maybe Simon and Lucy knew that the contact was somehow essential in the baby 'returning'. Because he was definitely dead until she touched him!

That's how it all seemed to me anyway. It's all a bit Rosmary's Baby though Halloween Grin

TheOrchardKeeper · 25/10/2015 08:05

And I wondered if the man who saved Claire was her father, seeing as the episode seemed to be about children/fathers? (Simon and the baby, Milan and Serge and Victor and his still-alive-father revelation).

Moln · 25/10/2015 08:10

That's a thought, there was Lena and her dad too.

Is it Possibly Milian and Victor/Louis as central to the whole thing, sex psychic said Milian is back, and wasn't too please it seemed. Is she dead?

Anyone fluent in French? I'm wondering if it's easier to follow if you are, because then you could just watch , rather than watch and read.

TheOrchardKeeper · 25/10/2015 08:31

I thought the last episode was meant to confirm our suspicions about Victor being very central to everything and possibly the cause?

And I wonder if Milan was like Serge but worse? They want us to see him as one of the bigger baddies anyway it seems.

If I wasn't a fast reader I don't think I'd watch it at all, I'd miss everything Grin It gets a bit tricky to note people's facial expressions etc when they're having intense conversations or arguing!

I read an interview with the creator who promises that we do get a lot of answers by the end of series 2 and that they know they've risked losing viewers by dragging the answers out. I love it regardless Halloween Smile I'm dying to know who those people tied to the tree were. Didn't think about them maybe being police officers...

I think about this show way too much outside of watching it Grin

custardcreamdreams · 25/10/2015 08:41

I thought it was Claire's father too. Well either father or ex-lover by the way he touched her face.

I read that too about getting a lot of answers by the end of the series as they didn't want it to turn into another 'Lost' - all questions, no answers. Also that part of the reason it took so long to make the second series was because a lot of it is filmed in the very short twilight phase for the lighting and atmosphere it provides.

iwantgin · 25/10/2015 15:11

Hmmmm episode 2 just watched.

Am super confused now. But gripped.

BlueEyeshadow · 25/10/2015 15:34

My French is pretty good and I can't follow it at all! In fact I often can't even hear what they're saying without the subtitles... Blush

MatchsticksForMyEyes · 25/10/2015 17:01

I'm a French teacher. I understand all the french but I'm still confused about what the hell is going on!

Blondeshavemorefun · 25/10/2015 17:32

Watched s1 when on tv a few years ago. Loved it as subtitles you actually watch it /concentrate rather then multitask and read /eat/text etc

Saw s2 e1 last week but Havnt seen 2 yet. Hopefully will tonight or tomorrow

Tho from what I've seen I take it the dead like victor and twin (can't rem name) and parents are across the flooded town /other side of village

Twins dad needs a serious shave - assume he's gone a tad nutty as lost wife and daughter again

No one can't drive out but helicopters can fly in with the police - so why don't they all vacate via helicopters?

MrsFring · 27/10/2015 15:11

In the flashback to Victors murder did Milan and the young Pierre say that they wanted someone got rid of? As in an ultimatum? I wonder if that could be Victor; that the village saw him as some kind of curse/bad omen. Hope not.

Is it just me that finds Victor incredibly beautiful? Everyone just seems to find him scary!

TheOrchardKeeper · 27/10/2015 15:53

I thought that was the point? You find out either victor or his dad had some sort of ability or something that the town wanted gone?

And you're not the only one. He goes from sweet to scary but they cast him well. Quite other worldly looking.

WhoTheFuckIsSimon · 28/10/2015 13:59

I'm glad I'm not the only one confused as hell!

Why is the guy from Helping Hand collecting dead people? He seemed quite sinister when he got Toni from the bar.

waxweasel · 28/10/2015 14:58

I loved S1 (though can barely remember what happened or how it ended...), started watching the first episode of S2 and had to turn it off, it freaked me right out. I'm pregnant and the whole creepy zombie baby squirming in her stomach was just too much. I don't want to miss the whole series though! Is the whole episode creepy baby-related or can I just fast forward a bit?

TheOrchardKeeper · 28/10/2015 18:07

I found that the early baby kicking bits were worse than the rest of the episode and the second episode has no weird Alien-esque scenes.

DS was 9lb 4 when he was born and all the squirmy pregnancy stuff creeped me out too!

Qwertybynature · 28/10/2015 21:10

I've just caught up with the last episode. Is Pierre (from the helping hand) part of the gang that shot Victor's father? I thought I read his name in the subtitles. Victor's Dad isn't dead is he, he's in a coma (the guy on the ventilator in the hospital)? So I think the three key characters are Pierre, Victor and the lady caring for Victor. I think hope more will become clear when Victor's dad dies.

The dead people tied to trees really creeped me out though, forgot about the missing policeman.

There's no more squirming baby waxweasel, it's born but you don't see it.

waxweasel · 29/10/2015 09:30

Ah thanks! I'll try it again tonight then and get DH to just tell me when the squirming baby goes so I can uncover my eyes Smile

TheSecondOfHerName · 29/10/2015 20:43

I have v.little clue what is going on, but I'm watching anyway.

Blondeshavemorefun · 30/10/2015 15:51

Weird how the men in black by the lake and all the others in the town are silent

On a flashback that Milan was the one who actually organized (but not committed) the robbery where Victor lost his life, and that Victor's father didn't actually die

Feel sorry for Esteban as he doesn't know he is dead not that his parents committed suicide last series

custardcreamdreams · 30/10/2015 21:20

Oohh well done to Vodkajelly, it was the police tied to the trees. You reckon they're tied to the trees away from the ground to prevent them from coming back? There's something to do with the water that's making them all return?

tilliebob · 30/10/2015 21:24

Oh Gawd. I'm too tired to follow this tonight at all Shock. Someone just tell me all the answers!!
