Series 2 about to start in France, but all I can find about it being shown here is that it will be in the autumn. Does anyone know any more?

Meanwhile, series 1 is 4OD, it's obviously my duty to watch it to remind myself of the background.

spiderlight · 18/10/2015 10:41

I'm so relieved it wasn't just us who were lost!!

Moln · 18/10/2015 21:44

Helping hand guy; name forgotten even though I've just watched the scene.

He said the same words to Victor about singing a song as the man who come into Victor's room before the man came in and shot Victor. Had also totally forgotten that.

custardcreamdreams · 18/10/2015 21:56

It's Pierre Moln

Glad to see I'm not the only one with bad memory :) I think the problem is there was such a big gap between the first and second series.

I have just re-watched the first series, think that's me up to speed. I now want to take up smoking again, drink vodka shots and exclaim 'tout suite' and 'bein sûr' a lot.

custardcreamdreams · 18/10/2015 21:58

But it would also help if I could spell, as it's toute and bien. GCSE French was a long time ago.

Moln · 18/10/2015 22:53

Thanks.

You'd have thought I'd have remembered Pierre. I'm pretty sure ever male featuring in French text books was called Pierre.

For all our French classes we were given 'French names', which we used instead of our own "je m'appelle Gabrielle" or what ever that may be in the past tense!!!

iwantgin · 20/10/2015 16:04

Just caught up with the new series.

Hmmmm interesting so far.

So victors mum came back too.

BreakingDad77 · 21/10/2015 10:54

Glad this is back, just caught up on OD as thought it was planned for later in year. As other have said DW and me think we need to watch season 1 finale again.

BreakingDad77 · 21/10/2015 10:56

My french cest ne pas bon, mais...

Do people find some of the translations of replies in some of conversations aren't really right?

custardcreamdreams · 21/10/2015 11:07

Yes, I've noticed that BreakingDad. Quite often the replies are slightly different or shortened. Was quite impressed my brain has stored away some basic French away in there.

There was always a Pierre and a François Moln Grin

Moln · 21/10/2015 11:45

Yes I spotted that!! I was very pleased with myself Grin

Though I've recently moved jobs, it involves a lot of translating documentation, and I've come to realise that it's a lot harder than you'd think as words in one language can mean many things in another depending on the context.

So but "Ca va?" means more than just the 'how are you?' and response, and is used differently in French so can even be used to mean more than 'everything ok? too.

I don't have a second language but it's interesting in small doses to listen to the translator explaining this to me.

Moln · 21/10/2015 11:49

(Ignore the 'but' after the so. Not sure how that sneaked in)

BreakingDad77 · 21/10/2015 16:55

I noticed in the scene where the new engineer was talking to the police man in the hot dog cafe and also when the police were talking between themselves.

I agree Moln, my french is not much further than the pass in GCSE I got several moons ago , but do have the confidence now to try to speak it more when on holiday.

I remember one time at a camp site the deflector label had come off one of the headlights and so went to reception and my french got me as far as Avez vous quelqe chose pour couvert la luminaire sur le voiture, and they produced some brown parcel tape, which did the job. Out of curiosity I asked something like - quest que ce en francaise (apologies for my french spelling) to which the lady replied:

"Scotch Ad-hes-iv" Shock

Things like Ca Va are oddities as they are both question and answer at the same time, I can only think of slang type sayings like "all good", to which you could reply "all good".

Moln · 21/10/2015 22:06

Right so I've rematches series one, and I've just rematches episode 1 of the new series; I still feel confused!!!

There's been a second flood, that resubmerged the old town that was unsubmerging during the last series, and submerged part of the new town (the bit in the middle) However we weren't shown this happening, nor have we been filled it with any other difference (I'm guessing this is going to be a slow you'll just pick it up reveal)

The second flood has cut off part of the new town, which was exited by helicopter by people who weren't dead, and now it's populated by The Horde plus those that they took out of the Helping Hand at the end of series 1.

There's a few of the not dead people living on the other part of the new town that isn't isolated, though it seems that it actually is as the roads are mysteriously dead ended.

There's new dead people returning too.

The sex psychic is very interested in the baby that dead Simon fathered and she need to shag Simon to see what's going to happen. Mind you I've a feeling she can actually have sex with anyone, just Simon's willing, the dirty tart that he is.

Have I missed something (probably)

Duckdeamon · 21/10/2015 22:45

Sinister stuff! Especially victor.

I love the scenery. Hope Lena is OK on her own: her Dad has clearly list the plot a bit. The mum and Julie were brave to go with famille and victor to the zombies.

Chloe, Adele's DD, looks quite like my DD and their now-difficult relationship and her sad, anxious face upsets me!

Rollergirl1 · 23/10/2015 21:54

Anyone watching? Still utterly perplexed and I even re-watched series one!

Serge and Toni's dad is terrifying! And what's the deal with Mr Costa?!

Can't for the life of me work out how all the different strands hang together! Something funny with Victor's Dad though and think all the characters will eventually tie back to that family.

fairyqueen · 23/10/2015 22:16

I'm watching. Nothing clever to say though Sad

SabsFabulous · 23/10/2015 22:36

I was watching too - I'm left so confused! I missed the first few minutes. There were a few characters today that I didn't recognise

tilliebob · 23/10/2015 22:37

Gawd, you need a degree in...zombies to make sense of this programme!

I still need ALL THE ANSWERS....NOW!!Confused

Didn't help my 14yo was watching for the first time with me so I was trying to catch her up on the entire show during the episode. I've left her watching S1 on Netflix

custardcreamdreams · 23/10/2015 22:41

Were the masked men asking for Victor's dad to leave or was it Victor they wanted gone? So Mr Costa was involved in it too?

Confused myself and also nothing enlightening to add.

SabsFabulous · 23/10/2015 22:41

DH was watching with me for the first time and wanted to know what was going on - but I couldn't explain at the same time as reading the subtitles! Told him to read the series summary on wiki Grin

fairyqueen · 23/10/2015 22:44

I assume all the scary people are dead? Never a good idea to try to escape down a long coridor with no exits. Bound to be zombies at the other end!

tilliebob · 23/10/2015 22:50

Are there now two groups of dead - the returned and a more sinister/traditional type of undead?

What happened with Claire? Did that bloke take her back to the house she was staying with Camille in?

Was Serge' dad the leader of the burglars/vigilantes?

Why are all those folk tied to trees?

What does Mr Costa and more to the point Pierre have to do with all this more than we already know?

Does Victor/Louis draw things that then come to life?

How am I supposed to go to sleep now with all this in my head? WinkAngryHmm

PloptheBarnOwl · 23/10/2015 22:56

Which one in the car was Mr Costa?
Is Claire dead (and one of the Returned) or alive?
And why is nobody mentioning Thomas (Adele's boyfriend)? Did he die in the face-off at the end of the last series?

tilliebob · 23/10/2015 22:58

Thomas disappeared with Julie's girlfriend (Lorne?) in the dead/police shoot up at the end of S1 didn't he? I assumed Claire was still alive but with this show, all bets are off!

custardcreamdreams · 23/10/2015 23:00

I thought she was alive too and that man brought her back home. Got the impression he knew her?
