Good luck Richtea. I hope it all works out for the best. xx

Ilovelblue · 21/08/2015 08:33

Young hunky soldiers, combats and army tanks over flowers? Hmmm, which should I choose?

MaddieMoo82 · 21/08/2015 08:48

Could you do a drive by through catterick ilove on the way to or from the gardens. Best of both words :-)
Good luck with your sun richtea hope you get it sorted today.
The excitement of washing, ironing, dog walk and health visitor for me (and changing many nappies)

orphan · 21/08/2015 08:54

Good luck to your ds richtea. Remember the school knows your ds already and that counts for a lot. I'm sure you'll be celebrating with a g&t or 3 tonight!

Yes ilove I've been to Harlow Carr before whist vsiting Harrogate . It's lovely. I'm surprised CJ isn't touring the garden as well - he is a big fan of a well mulched border.

KellyHb · 21/08/2015 08:55

Morning.

Good look rich. Thinking of you.

Have a great day ilove. Hope CJ's mates offer you a joyride too. Ah the looks of envy you will be getting from other ladies. Wink

Cloudy here. Could rain I think. Kids watching a DVD so they're quiet for a bit. Hooray! Brew

Ilovelblue · 21/08/2015 08:59

Maddie Catterick is a further 30 miles or so further north than Harlow Carr so it would be a long detour.

orphan CJ has been admiring my own well mulched borders since we arrived home on Tuesday night so I guess other people's borders don't have the same attraction.....

Back to real life, my grapes are ripening quite nicely. Feel free to come and make your own wine in about 6 weeks or so. I'll post a pic from my phone in a minute.

BK28 · 21/08/2015 09:03

ilove I hope the slow pace of the waterways doesn't disappoint his need for speed, but the old boat can offer a slow relaxing ride!!

Ilovelblue · 21/08/2015 09:07

Speed isn't always the best......... I'm sure he'll prove his worth BK!

Ilovelblue · 21/08/2015 09:10

Tried this earlier. Hope it works this time.

Hope morning goes well richtea
Enjoy your day ilove

KellyHb · 21/08/2015 09:45

Ah BK I've very fond memories of holiday's on canal boats years ago with me and my Dad doing the locks. Great fun. We went on the Shropshire Union canal and I remember the Bingley Five Rise locks were indeed a test of fitness.

Lovely grapes ilove. Can't wait for the black berries to start coming in. Its normally this time of year up here that they do.

Nickel45 · 21/08/2015 10:10

Congrats for all the GCSE results, good luck today richtea xx

BK where are you boating/barging/or whatever the right expression is!

Kids are laying the wii at the mo ... this is what holidayng in Devon is all about! Just wish it would stop raining for a few hours, they need to run ... Or I need them to run ... One or the other!!

KellyHb · 21/08/2015 11:21

Oo nickel very jealous of where you are in BA/CJ land. Grin

Dizzydots · 21/08/2015 12:47

Putting some bloody effort in and not enjoying the treadmill, day 2! Seriously lacking in fitness, thank goodness BK is getting first bite of the plums cherry. Hopefully all that lock action will prepare CJ nicely for his visit to MK.

Richtea19 · 21/08/2015 13:21

I can breath. DS has been accepted into his own school for sixth form. They will keep a close eye on him for maths (which is t a bad thing). I think this has been such a shock for him he will really knuckle down and get on with it.. we hope!

It all starts with getting the right nursery, you relax, then it's primary school, secondary school, sixth form! I don't think we will ever stop worrying.

Thank you all for your support, really means a lot. I should be the size of a breadstick with all my stress, but I'm not!

KellyHb · 21/08/2015 13:32

Instead of lock action for CJ dizzy how about a bit Walter PPK action and a tuxedo for BA? He'd definately gets my vote as Bond. Listening to a few Bond songs while I'm washing. Grin

KellyHb · 21/08/2015 13:34

Yey Rich!!!! Well done to you and yours. So pleased for you! StarStar

orphan · 21/08/2015 14:28

Yay from me as well richtea! That's fab news. So g&t or prosecco definitely in order then?Smile

orphan · 21/08/2015 14:32

Having friends for dinner and to stay tonight. Just looking at the state of the house and wondering if we should just all book into a hotel instead!!

BK28 · 21/08/2015 14:33

dizzy I will do my best to get him warmed up for you, but I've said it before Kelly he would certainly get my full attention as a Bond!!

Very sadly I have jus stood and done my ironing and watched 2 movies : The Last Five Years which is an amazing and beautifully poignant musical - was bawling my eyes out by the end, and the Railway Man - I know BA had only a small part but those curls on a shirt neck line were so spottable and just waiting for some long elegant fingers - preferably mine - to run through them!!

Where are we going on the boat you ask Nickel good question I think we are on the Worcestershire Canal and will probably motor through the joys of Birmingham to Warwick or Stratford on Avon, or subject to the weather - it is DH who does all the driving - might be moored up somewhere watching movies and reading. DS is a dab hand at finding relevant hotspots for the wifi or I might just to have withdrawal for a week or maybe not!!

BK28 · 21/08/2015 14:40

Great news Richtea !!

I use pictures in my work and the one for the gap between GCSE and A levels is of the wall on the military assault courses. (Look CJ's influence gets in everywhere) The A levels are on the top of the wall and you have to arrive in Sept on the top ready to start running, not at the base working out how to get in the common room!!

The CGP Guides do a series of books called Headstart to I know there are some for the sciences, but I think there is one for Maths, might be an idea. Certainly it is about keeping your algebra up to speed - totally foreign language to me but DS and DH keep trying to convince me a number can be a letter!! Anyway enjoy your A levels and remember that it is only 12 months away for beginning to look at HE courses!! Smile

cjwoofwoof · 21/08/2015 15:01

Ah nice one Rich well done to your DS on getting into 6th Form. My middle DS has got that next year hopefully - hes not very academic, more arty - so I'm hoping he'll do well enough to get in. Just got his English Lang gcse a year early - C grade but good enough to put under his belt and concentrate on English Lit this year. The pressure on kids these days is full on - I wouldn't be a teenager again for all the acne and Benson & Hedges in the world. Absolutely relentless Shock

cjwoofwoof · 21/08/2015 15:05

I'm having AT over for dinner tonight orph as he's been feeling a little left out as Manu's been so demanding of my time lately. On Rhus mum's recommendation he'll be sucking on my ya boo and feasting on my foibles if I play my cards right

pixieg1rl · 21/08/2015 15:06

Phew, Richtea, that's a relief.

I still have loads of packing to do, but I have made lots and lots of lists. I find the putting stuff in a suitcase stage is really quick, the remembering what to pack stuff is the hard part.

orphan · 21/08/2015 15:31

Oh have fun then tonight woof. Are you doing your dinner party standby, toad in the hole? Always goes down well I seem to remember. And after that entertainment, what are you having to eat?
