The Lockhart matriarch is played by the same actress as Meggie's bratty actress daughter in "the Thorn Birds". That makes me feel old.

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 11/06/2015 14:44

Cole's mum was a teen in St Elmo's FireShock

Rollergirl1 · 11/06/2015 16:29

OMG. I've been wracking my brains to remember where I know her from. Yes, she was the one who was in love with Rob Lowe's character and used to bale him out all the time! Grin

Blondeshavemorefun · 14/06/2015 20:45

Just catching up as been away on holiday

So we know scotty died and I had to google mum As was bugging me - and soon as I did I thought duh. Course it's her. The Virgin with the rich dad from St elmos

Also thought weird that stories are different - ie phone call was grandma / daughter

tutorproof · 14/06/2015 22:28

I was so tense during this week's episode I had to remind myself it wasn't real.

They are very indiscreet though, it's hardly surprising that everybody knows!

I thought tonight was the first time I've felt really sorry for his wife. I feel bad that hasn't happened earlier Shock

oneowlgirl · 17/06/2015 22:56

Just catching up on this series - enjoying it so far, although can't tell which version of events I believe more!

Cole's mum was also Meredith's step mum in Greys Anatomy (who died).

oneowlgirl · 17/06/2015 22:58

Just googled Maura Tierney as think she's fab & loved her in ER- she's 50!! She looks amazing!

tutorproof · 17/06/2015 23:59

She took it remarkably well.

I would have definitely thrown more things.

EachandEveryone · 18/06/2015 21:17

She has a look of Demi Moore I think.

Both sides took it very well I thought. Alison is now verging on stalking him.

Three more left!

Let's not forget series 2.

Obviously it was how they remembered it in their heads. I imagine reality was quite different and contained more snot

spookyskeleton · 19/06/2015 06:27

Wasn't the Lockhart's mum Marty McFly's mum??

Anyway, I am truly gripped now - took a while though. Wasn't expecting it to move away from the town so soon or for both partners to already find out - thought that would come at the end.

Love Joshua Jackson though - I know who I would choose if I was Alison Smile

Blondeshavemorefun · 19/06/2015 15:19

Martys mum was lea Thompson

Haven't seen 7 yet. On planner - do I take it wifey finds out?

gingercat12 · 19/06/2015 16:06

Really fancy Cole. Alison and Cole went through so much together that they appear to have been married longer than Noah and his wife. Which seems impossible.

Also great to see different points of views. Noah sees everything through sex and seems to think himself irresistable, while Alison seems so insecure.

EachandEveryone · 19/06/2015 18:32

The drug dealing seems so out of character though.

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 19/06/2015 18:45

In what way Each?

tutorproof · 19/06/2015 19:08

I think the drug thing is all part of the general theme of how people rationalise things and excuse themselves. So the affair, the drug dealing, Helen's Dad being a twat.

You can convince yourself that anything is OK if you're doing it because you have extenuating circumstances.

gingercat12 · 19/06/2015 19:08

It is a hard life for the islanders, and they can't make a living. Having to turn to crime is a class issue between Alison and Noah. Noah got lucky by marrying Helen and her money.

I loved it how Cole decided to turn their lives around though. It is probably not that simple.

The novel is titled Descent, and they keep showing the ocean in the title sequence. Will someone else drown?

tutorproof · 19/06/2015 19:11

It's a metaphor innit Wink

gingercat12 · 19/06/2015 20:09

Yes tutor Grin. I just wonder if tells anything about the future of the participants. (I am that nosy.)

Just listened to the lyrics of the title music properly. It is beautiful. The ocean makes more sense now.

entirelyidentifiable · 20/06/2015 17:46

I adore the title music. Off to google it.

Blondeshavemorefun · 20/06/2015 22:13

Finally watched and both spouses seem very calm as finding out they've been lied to

So do we think red bearded bloke kills Scotty for punching him?

Can't believe the whole family is dealing drugs - the mum (St Elmos Fire) takes it in her stride

Blondeshavemorefun · 20/06/2015 22:14

Ps music is

Container by fiona Apple

EachandEveryone · 20/06/2015 22:38

Oh, I fast forward the music every week Blush
