After the fantastic threads last year I thought it time to start making our predictions for those in the semis and for potential winners.

Who's in?

OP posts:
Raahh · 21/05/2015 22:06

Right-off to bed.

Saturday here we come!

wowfudge · 21/05/2015 22:07

It'll be Malmo or Moscow or the substitute for Sydney

FuzzyWizard · 21/05/2015 22:07

I remember when Italy put up Rafael Gulazzi (sp?)... He was really good. Didn't win but scored pretty well.

ilovesooty · 21/05/2015 22:07

Our entry could be worse. It's not as embarrassing as Josh, Scooch or Daz.

wowfudge · 21/05/2015 22:09

Indeed! I shall post the consensus from Eurovision Towers this weekend - including from the guys who have been in Vienna this week.

HarryLimeFoxtrot · 21/05/2015 22:12

I'll be here on Saturday night - with alcohol...

ouryve · 21/05/2015 22:14

Had to record, so watching with a 90 minute lag. The Czech woman looks like she'd glass you down the Bigg market.

LineRunner · 21/05/2015 22:18

That's what I thought, ouryve

ouryve · 21/05/2015 22:20

Latvian woman appears to have a very hairy chest.

mathanxiety · 21/05/2015 23:39

Happy for Slovenia.

Dulra · 22/05/2015 08:58

Awww boo Ireland didn't get through, didn't watch it so from a UK mumsnet perspective should we have?

RedToothBrush · 22/05/2015 09:32

dulra, I can safely say with a degree of confidence you were not robbed of your chance of Eurovision glory.

hawthornknitter · 22/05/2015 10:44

Actually quite liked the Irish song this year (am Irish) but wasn't too impressed with the performance on the night. In a way would prefer not to be in final at all than be in final and not even get a third of the way up the rhs of the board.

ilovesooty · 22/05/2015 13:19

Well the running order is very interesting. Certainly favours Russia and Italy.

StupidBloodyKindle · 22/05/2015 16:23

Italy does indeed get the pimp slot.
UK 5th hmm Didn't Engelbert perform early so he could have a slerp, bless him
But we were late on last year weren't we and didn'tgive us an edge?
Sweden 10th on, four before intermission.
Have any of you seen the Daily Mash article on eurovision? Grin

StupidBloodyKindle · 22/05/2015 16:24

slerp? the mind boggles. Sleep.

ilovesooty · 22/05/2015 16:30

I'm not so much upset at the UK being on 5th as Estonia being on directly before them. I think that along has killed Estonia 's chances and it's my favourite entry. Angry
Looking at the shortening betting odds and the number of YouTube views I think Russia might take it.

ilovesooty · 22/05/2015 16:30

that alone, sorry.

StupidBloodyKindle · 22/05/2015 16:38

Well, just watched it (missed the first semis). She can belt out an otherwise bland song, the dress is cool, there's the clappy bit at the end, you might be right. It has had 3 million views.

StupidBloodyKindle · 22/05/2015 16:42

Ah Have now just watched Estonia and you may well be right. Despite the intensity of the performance it's going to get drowned.

StupidBloodyKindle · 22/05/2015 16:46

Are Il Volo like Il Divo but with added dork? I do like to hear Italian though.

StupidBloodyKindle · 22/05/2015 17:10

Just watched UKs second rehearsal and I unashamedly love the LED dress but Alex's suit didn't light up Sad and in hiding her gadgetry with a fur stole, it looks a bit awkward/clumpy...memorable though. My dd will vote for you, it looks like a light up dress Barbie would want. Whereas Russia's is classy our LED gimmick is a bit like the wearing technology jacket they had on last series of the Apprentice...

toldmywrath · 22/05/2015 20:20

Oops late to the party & only watched Thurdsay's semifinal. I love the Israeli song with the catchy rhyme about "& before I leave, let me show you Tel Aviv"
I thought Ireland were not good & so,sadly, they don't make the final.
Hello to Raahh & woof to puppy.

Raahh · 22/05/2015 20:24

Aww. Thanks told RaahhPuppy is currently barking at imaginary squirrels. More tunefully than some of the Eurovision entrants, it has to be saidGrin

toldmywrath · 22/05/2015 20:34

Go RaahhPuppy! Grin
