Darn it, missed RA on bedtime hour.

DG, I sort of agree with you re his mouth - it is def. his least gorgeous feature. But I still find him sexy. I don't particularly like him as Guy but he was gorgeous as John Thornton in North and South.

BTW, he is in The Vicar of Dibley at Christmas (playing Dawn French's love interest

DumbledoresFairy · 10/12/2006 20:03

Well, he tells a story for children OKish but Jonas Armstrong would definitely do it better. His accent isn't as broad as in Robin Hood though there are traces of it.

Speaking of accents, I am not very good on accents. I have read that Jonas Armstrong's natural accent is Lancashire. Is that the accent we hear in Robin Hood, or is he putting on a Nottinghamshire accent? Whatever, I am a convert to short vowels, when he voices them!

Having watched it tonight, I have to say that from last Sat episode I am completely torn both ways.

However, Robin seemed a bit more masterful than Guy who spent much of the episode fretting about Maid Marian (not that pretty), so on that basis I think I would go for Robin. Seriously great eyes, and a sensitive side. More interesting I guess. Needs a touch of cosmetic dentistry, but I guess that would be a bit of an anachronism in 14th C Britain.

Reserve the right to change if the other guy impresses later in the series. I did think he was pretty foxy in North and South, but he has too much eye make up on this week.

DumbledoresFairy · 11/12/2006 22:06

Thank you WSWQM. He does have the most gorgeous and expressive eyes doesn't he? And a nice mix of sensitivity and masterfulness. You have exactly captured what I see in him.

I am officially besotted with him now. Today, I found the dvd of the first 5 episodes dh has bought for me as a Christmas present hidden in his sock drawer (not hidden very well I might add) and I am not sure I can hold out until Christmas before watching it. Do you think dh would notice if the cellophane wrapper went missing?

WhenSantaWentQuietlyMad · 11/12/2006 22:50

Am surprised that the thread went so overwhelmingly in favour of GoG. Only a Rizla paper between them, but then I have only watched one episode

BoingBoing · 12/12/2006 09:05

LOL DDF. Why not rip off the celophane so you can enjoy your viewing for the next couple of weeks, then bribe one of your happily nit-free offspring to 'helpfully' wrap it up for daddy because they just 'happened to find it'?! Or are you not suppose to know it exists?
And good to see you've got Mad on-side. Agree that Robin is improving, but he's still not the Guy for me, even if they do smother him in way too much make up

WhenSantaWentQuietlyMad · 12/12/2006 09:44

DDF - step AWAY from the present cupboard - leave that DVD alone. After your 'yum yum' comment, your dh will start to get worried if he catches you with the DVD! You will have to content yourself with Saturday evenings for another couple of weeks.

I find the Lancashire/Yorkshire accent really sexy on a man. Sean Bean only has to open his mouth and I can forgive his somewhat unimpressive looks. So on that basis, I would take either of them. I am so looking forward to pondering the issue all over again next Sat.

MossletoeAndWine · 12/12/2006 09:52

Just read this thread, brill! I say, why settle for one when you can have all four! Armitage, Armstrong, Praed and Addie (I know, I know, I am lucky to have such diverse tastes!)

BoingBoing · 12/12/2006 11:44

There's a name for women like you, Mossletoe

DumbledoresFairy · 12/12/2006 12:53

So that accent of his is Lancashire you reckon? Not a put on Nottinghamshire? I am desperate to hear him speak as himself to know what he sounds like. Also, as he was bron an Irishman, I am wondering if he could do a creditable irish accent too? OMG, he would totally godlike if he could!

MossletoeAndWine · 12/12/2006 13:35

BoingBoing what are you trying to say?!

I think the name is "woman with a broad church of tastes", isn't that what you meant?

BoingBoing · 12/12/2006 14:09

Ahem, yes, that's precisely what I meant. ROFPML
Me? I'm a one-Guy gal!

BoingBoing · 12/12/2006 14:24

But though your tastes may be catholic, I can't say the same for your morals

MossletoeAndWine · 12/12/2006 14:29

Boing when I say I like all of them, I'm not saying literally all at once!!

Oh, forgive me, it's the pregnancy hormones talking doncha know!!!!

BoingBoing · 12/12/2006 14:46

At least you have an excuse! Mine's just pure lust.

DumbledoresFairy · 12/12/2006 18:26

I know what you mean BoingBoing. Trouble is, I am not after the guys but the red breasted gentlemen. Oo-er!

BoingBoing · 12/12/2006 18:37

Oh very seasonal!

DumbledoresFairy · 12/12/2006 18:39

Yeah shame you don't get my Robin on all those cards. Just think what a line up that would make on the mantlepiece. Dh might wonder why the christmas cards didn't come down on Twelfth Night though!

BoingBoing · 12/12/2006 18:43

Bought your poster yet?

DumbledoresFairy · 12/12/2006 18:46

God no! is there one?
That reminds me of something. When I was a teenager, I had a poster of the Professionals on my wall (don't know how old you are or whether that means anything to you, but think 2 very sexy men if it doesn't). They were looking directly to camera and smirking and I just couldn't bear it after a bit as I felt they were watching my every move. It got to the point where I blushed to look at the poster.

So no, I won't be daubing Robin all over my walls. That sounds a bit filthy, thinking about it.

BoingBoing · 12/12/2006 19:35

Ooh, I had that with a Mel Gibson poster (from when he was still young, gorgeous and sane, many, many years ago!) Radio Times is doing a poster offer - Robin on one side, Guy on the other. However, as I'm a mature, grown-up, married mother of 1, I shan't be racing to the shops to get it. Besides, I'd have no-where to put it

DumbledoresFairy · 12/12/2006 20:36

Me neither.

I wonder if ds1 would like it for his bedroom?

BoingBoing · 12/12/2006 21:27

Would that make you tidy it for him?

DumbledoresFairy · 12/12/2006 21:28

I do already. It would make his bed the first one I made each morning!
