I'll have both please. At the same time.

OP posts:
BoingBoing · 12/11/2006 13:02

Dumbledore, I'm afraid you're welcome to him, but maybe you could take him home and give him a good square meal. He looks like he could do with one. Oh, and a decent hair cut whilst you're at it!

And this isn't meant to be in any way rude, but are you under 30? I have a theory that they've cast this by demographics - Robin for the cool, young lasses, Guy for us more 'mature' ladies who don't get out enough, Marion to keep the dads interested, and the Sheriff for the dads who are so over the hill and cynical that all they can relate to is his own brand of cynicism (that'll be my DH, LOL)

DumbledoresGirl · 12/11/2006 14:39

BoingBoing, I am delighted to have him to myself and to be able to take him home for a good square meal. How odd because, as I was eating the roast chicken, roast potatoes, bread sauce, leeks, carrots and gravy, followed by steamed chocolate pudding and chocolate sauce that I made for lunch today I was just thinking exactly the same thing, viz, I bet Jonas/Robin would appreciate this meal as he is young enough to still enjoy a wholesome, filling mother's dinner!

Oh and I like your theory, but actually I am 42 next month! But I do appreciate all sorts of men, young and old!

DumbledoresGirl · 12/11/2006 14:40

Oh and the hairstyle is fine by me!

stoppinattwo · 12/11/2006 15:31

I think both would be nice, do we have to choose >

willandsamsmum · 12/11/2006 21:48

I don't watch Robin Hood but I do love it when it's Richard Armitage's turn to read the bedtime story on CBeebies! Him and John Barrowman are my absolute favorite story readers for obvious reasons!

CAMisole · 13/11/2006 12:45

No point fancying John Barrowman, WillandSamsmum

WhizzBangCaligula · 13/11/2006 12:54

LOL at the demographic breakdown of viewers and actor to appeal to all targets.

What is Marian's make-up about?

Can someone please do a Mumsnet alert when it's RA's turn to do the bedtime reading?

This is what having kids is all about - the excuse to watch Robin Hood on a Saturday evening and pretend you're only doing it for family bonding purposes and not thinking about any other kind of bonding...

bookends · 14/11/2006 18:57

WBC...abs. right. We..no I need to know when RA is reading on Jackanory. Even though my dds are tweenies I will force them to watch it or sneakily watch it myself

stitchthezenmaster · 14/11/2006 20:10

robin definitly

willandsamsmum · 14/11/2006 20:14

Cam - Just because JB is gay, it doesn't stop me admiring him (or drooling, fantisising or any other type of ing over him!)

Sugarfree · 14/11/2006 20:23

PMSL@Marian dressed by Per Una.
They do seem to have alot of raggy looking knitwear and extra hanging 'pieces' on their clothes.

BoingBoing · 18/11/2006 20:51

Oh dear, I'm lusting again after my weekly fix. All I can wonder is why on earth Marian would even have to think about saying yes to the gorgeous Guy? Weedy Robin just looked like a whipped puppy, whilst Guy's reaction if she'd turned him down would have been both memorable and tragic. Roll on next Saturday....

Apart from that, the programme is entirely stupid and irritating in its historical inacuracies.

DumbledoresGirl · 18/11/2006 20:52

BoingBoing I am going to have to ask you to step outside now, this has gone far enough.

i too avidly watched my weekly fix tonight. he is gorgeous. Blue eyes, lovely hair, twinkly smile, and he nearly got his kiss tonight too (and no I don't mean Guy of Miserybourne)

fullmoonfiend · 18/11/2006 20:54

Marion looks around 15 FFS!
I saw puppy fat!

I want Guy...

DumbledoresGirl · 18/11/2006 20:54

Marion FMF? I couldn't care less about the totty!

DumbledoresGirl · 18/11/2006 20:55

female totty that should have been

roisin · 18/11/2006 20:58

To repeat myself from further down the thred: In an interview on the BBC site Richard Armitage says
"I'm really hoping that when people sit and watch this, when Gisburn is trying to woo Marian that they absolutely squirm in their seats, and their skin is crawling. That was my main aim with this character to make people absolutely despise him."

Failed completely I'm afraid! I actually felt sorry for Gisburn tonight. And no sympathy with Marion whatsoever.

It was a good episode for Gisburn-watchers tonight anyway

DumbledoresGirl · 18/11/2006 21:00

Agree with you re it being a good episode for guy fans roisin. I recorded it as my children always talk all the way through and I thought this time I will have the tape and can watch back and enjoy it when they are at school next week, but it was a disappointing episode for Robin fans.

BoingBoing · 18/11/2006 21:07

DumbledoresGirl, now let's not fight about this - I'm probably waaayyy heavier than you and would squash you flat (I'm still blaming post baby fat). So instead I think we call a truce in the best tradition and agree to differ - I'll keep the gorgeous Guy and you keep the...ahem...twinkly Robin. But I will just say I know which one is more likely to leave me with a very satisfied smile on my face in the morning .

DumbledoresGirl · 18/11/2006 21:09

Me too! Misery guts? No way!

fullmoonfiend · 18/11/2006 21:10

I'm sorry but once Guy sees me...

DumbledoresGirl · 18/11/2006 21:11

Ha! You girls are going to have to fight each other for him so looks like you get to squash someone flat after all BoingBoing! I will quietly take Robin's hand and disappear leaving you others to sort out who gets Guy. have fun!

BoingBoing · 18/11/2006 21:32

DumbledoresGirl, I wish you both happy, just don't forget to keep him well fed, as I've said before, he needs a good meal inside him.

But it looks like I'll have a few other rivals to squash flat! OTH, once he claps eyes on me, the rest of you have no chance. Honestly, the pouty 15-year old girly with puppy fat just wouldn't get a look in. She's more sulky than sultry, and I dress much better.

Apologies for slowness of postings - my bleeping internet connection keeps having a bleeping tea break.

DumbledoresGirl · 18/11/2006 21:36

Well fed? yes indeedy. Although there are other ways he can fill me up, I can tell you!

BoingBoing · 18/11/2006 22:29

LOL
