Grin Anyone else counting down the days! I actually get nervous thinking about it. I have re watched all series and reading the books to pass the time.

Can't wait to see what they do with Sansa and Tyrion this series. And will we see the hound again and lady stone heart?

I had to look up this Cotter Pyke letter after reading about it here:

At hardhome with six ships. Wild seas. Blackbird lost with all hands, two Lyseni ships driven aground on Skane, Talon taking water. Very bad here. Wildlings eating their own dead. Dead things in the woods. Braavosi captains will only take women, children on their ships. Witch women call us slavers. Attempt to take Storm Crow defeated, six crew dead, many wildlings. Eight ravens left. Dead things in the water. Send help by land, seas wracked by storms.

Creeeeepy.

Narvinectralonum · 26/05/2015 17:04

As I said. Grin Fuck! FUCK!! FUUUUCK!!! Grin Tht is the thing I have been most looking forward to seeing since the show began.

Narvinectralonum · 26/05/2015 17:04

I love Cotter Pyke. Just based on that letter alone.

Four125 · 26/05/2015 17:07

Oh Sansa.
Please tell me she does for Ramsay.

In all I'm not as taken with this series, it's all a bit slow moving.

SaskiaRembrandtWasFramed · 26/05/2015 19:04

I think Rob had it the worst, he's dead.

Annarose2014 · 26/05/2015 19:09

I'm getting sick of this Sansa. Yeah she didn't know what Ramsey was like and went into the marriage willingly to get WF.

But her great plan seems to have stopped at the altar. Was that it? "Marry a bloke I've never laid eyes on and breed lots of Northern Lords"?

Oh and I hate the way the show just went "We'll just gloss over the fact that she's married already" I mean, doncha have to at least get it nullified?

One thing it does do is spoil that Sansa and Tyrion are unlikely to meet again in the books. Just like when Barristan was killed off. He wouldn't have been if he'd had an important future role mapped out by GRRM.

Vivacia · 26/05/2015 20:02

I think Rob had it the worst, he's dead.

That's what I was thinking.

I'm intrigued by the "Sansa's rubbish and brings it all upon herself" theory! The only defence I can think of is that she's just a young girl at the start of the series with her head full of pretty ladies and chivalrous young knights.

Vivacia · 26/05/2015 20:03

I wish GRRM had been a bit more Kate Bush and a little less One Direction when it had come to his art or his fame.

SagaNorensLeatherTrousers · 26/05/2015 20:13

Did anyone watch Thronecast? Ana Matronic laid into "whoever on the show" is responsible for changing a lot of the book's plot into scenes of abuse/rape for the TV show (i.e. Cersei/Jamie, Sansa) It looked spontaneous and not expected and I thought Sue Perkins looked nervous about it.

Is Thronecast "live"? I know they ask people to tweet in during the show.

SagaNorensLeatherTrousers · 26/05/2015 20:14

She said something like "If Sansa's abuse is being used only to redeem Theon's character then I will have to re-examine my relationship with the show" at the end.

Narvinectralonum · 26/05/2015 20:53

Perhaps ana matronic should try reading the books...

SagaNorensLeatherTrousers · 26/05/2015 20:57

Did Jamie rape Cersei in the books? I thought he hadn't which was one of the points she was making.

Rollergirl1 · 26/05/2015 22:01

She also admitted early on that she hasn't read the books so not why she was getting on her high horse.

Fiderer · 26/05/2015 22:09

Vivacia "The only defence I can think of is that she's just a young girl at the start of the series with her head full of pretty ladies and chivalrous young knights."

Agree. In WF with all the cold and mud and the constant threat that Winter Is Coming. Then to KL with its court and finery - and a handsome prince to marry. No wonder she went tattling off to Cersei when she was told they were leaving and ended up getting Sean Bean's head chopped off.

SagaNorensLeatherTrousers · 26/05/2015 22:09

Ahh ok. I think I found it more interesting in the fact that they looked utterly unprepared for it. Sue was turning purple...like Joffrey. Grin

gingercat12 · 26/05/2015 22:29

SagaNoren Jaime did not rape Cersei in the books. It was consensual, but icky.

Narvinectralonum · 27/05/2015 00:03

She said no then she sort of caved but they barely exchanged a civil word ever since. And she was barely sober from that moment until her arrest (the telly has her becoming a pisshead earlier in the narrative). I'm not reading that as indicative that it was consensual. Although I know that GRRM has subsequently said it was supposed to be (and the telly people have also said it was supposed to be). But it's not a good scene. In either medium. Saying no but possibly really 'meaning yes' isn't something I'm entirely comfortable with reading. No means no. Or it should do. It's really not the best writing in the series.

As for Sansa - it's not even really her rape scene she's just there to give the actress something to do for a season since they have to pay her. But on the plus side (it's not that much of a plus side) at least it was less ...bestial...than Jeyne Poole's experiences.

As far as Ana Matronic goes - books often depict horrible things. So does telly. If she will take low rent gigs to try and prolong her 15 minutes she should at least do her homework beforehand.

Annarose2014 · 27/05/2015 01:01

I just think that the writers are lazy. If out of ideas, its rape, attempted rape, or tits.

The scene with Gilly for example. Of course she was about to get raped. Thank goodness there was a valiant man nearby! (Or wolf)

Then the scene with Bronn. Of course there had to be 15 close ups of her tits. It was literally "Line - tits - Line - tits - Line - tits"

I'm starting to lose all interest in most of the female characters because I know that no matter how ass-kicking they seem, sooner or later the show will throw in a rapey scene to remind us that the wimmin are sexually vunerable. Remember when Brienne was threatened with rape and Jaime intervened otherwise she'd have been gangraped?

I fully expect Arya to be the next to have to submit.

Meanwhile the male characters get to be badass without any fear of sexual violence to cut them down to size. I love a lot of the male characters, and I wonder if its cos they're really allowed to be cool. Even Tyrion was able to beat the shit out of a guy this week. If that had been a woman attempting to beat up that guy, the crowd would have surged forward in retaliation and ripped her dress open until some Heroic Dude stopped them.

BingoBonkers · 27/05/2015 07:25

Anybody tell me who the young boy was who was with the High Sparrow when Sersei got banged up? What's his relevance?

I find I get so confused by GoT and easily get lost in who/what/when!

SagaNorensLeatherTrousers · 27/05/2015 07:28

That was her cousin, Lancel Lannister, who she was sleeping with a couple of series ago. He's turned to the Faith and has obviously confessed their relations as well as probably told them about her relationship with Jaime.

Tequilashotfor1 · 27/05/2015 11:19

Yes anna I agree

CadieAgain · 27/05/2015 11:37

Good post, AnnaRose8

I loved early Lancel and his comedy confused / terrified expression.

CadieAgain · 27/05/2015 11:38

Sorry, AnnaRose2014. Bolding Fail.

Lweji · 27/05/2015 12:54

Watching that back it doesn't surprise me he got involved with a mad sect.

Tequilashotfor1 · 27/05/2015 12:54
