Grin Anyone else counting down the days! I actually get nervous thinking about it. I have re watched all series and reading the books to pass the time.

Can't wait to see what they do with Sansa and Tyrion this series. And will we see the hound again and lady stone heart?

OP posts:
Tequilashotfor1 · 25/05/2015 23:12

Who was the lady?? I hope sansa stabs him with that tool!

limitedperiodonly · 25/05/2015 23:14

I liked Sansa picking up the knife.

SerJorahsSecondChoice · 25/05/2015 23:17

Tequila, what makes you think Brienne is dead?

The lady who was flayed was the old woman who in an earlier episode told Sansa that the North remembers and that she still had friends - I think she passed on Brienne's message to Sansa. Presumably Ramsey thought the lit candle was for her benefit and that she would rally the troops.

gincamelbak · 25/05/2015 23:20

The old lady was the one who said, when Sansa arrived back in winter fell "ey oop our Sansa, yerve still got mates here, duck" or similar.

Brienne still waiting. Can't she just... Do something! Stop waiting or everyone you swear an oath about will die.

I am still SO bored of Daeny.

But glad Ser Jorah got to do some (slow mo) fighting.

Are we where the books finished now? I skipped so much of the last one that it's possible I missed massive storylines...

Hooray Bronn lives to sing another day. Woo!

CadieAgain · 26/05/2015 00:17

We're more or less where the books are with Stannis, Jon and Cersei, or will be soon. God knows where Dany's story is going. She's met Tyrion now which hadn't happened because she went elsewhere at the end of ADWD.

gincamelbak · 26/05/2015 00:29

Dany's story is just going to be her hamming it up about being The Mother of Dragons while feeding various high ranking enemies to her dragons. Maybe the Obe in the loose will do a hit more burning. I gave up on her.

I actually made a cup of tea when she and daario were yapping on about her marriage. BLA BLA BLA.

CadieAgain · 26/05/2015 00:36

Grin I caught up with MN during that bit.

Lweji · 26/05/2015 06:35

That's the problem. It goes on a bit, and then I miss important lines.

Tequilashotfor1 · 26/05/2015 07:28

I couldn't tell who it was that had been hung up. Glad it wasn't brieanne.

Fiderer · 26/05/2015 09:28

So did Littlefinger tell Cersei about Olyvar and then Olenna about Lancel?

Is Lancel the same actor? He was weedy and blonde and soppy back in his Baratheon poisoning/shagging days. Now he's bulked out, dark-haired and all assertive. What's supposed to have happened to him to make him join the Faith Militant?

Loved the QOT as ever.

ChiefClerkDrumknott · 26/05/2015 09:54

Lancel is the same actor...he's been working out Wink I don't think we've been told why he joined the FM, but I got the impression the way that Cercei and his family in general treated him made him rethink what he was doing and he turned to religion.

I knew LF had something to do with Olyvar turning up at the inquisition, just knew it! I did think when I first watched it that he meant Lancel was his gift to Olenna, however on second viewing I think it may be someone else. Lancel would have confessed everything to the High Sparrow without LF's intervention, so I think the HS has been planning this all along. I wonder if LF has someone else up his sleeve...though not sure who it could be. A good looking young man who could throw another spanner in Cercei's plans? Gendry, maybe?

Agent160 · 26/05/2015 10:10

I think the scene with Dany and Daario in bed was significant because Daario mentioned Hizdahr being the leader of the Sons of the Harpy (not sure if that possibility has been mentioned before in the TV show?) and said the killing won't stop just because Dany and Hizdahr are married.
Dany barely reacted to it though, so it was hard to distinguish from their general chat.

I think Ramsay is suspicious of who the old woman was acting for, because he said something about most people talking when he starts flaying them but she didn't - which suggests he was questioning her.

rallytog1 · 26/05/2015 10:21

I wondered if LF meant the guy from the brothel who was Loras's lover? (can't remember his name). If he turned up dead before the trial, there'd be no witness, so presumably Loras and Margaery would have to be released.

ChiefClerkDrumknott · 26/05/2015 10:52

rally That's Olyvar, the one at the inquiry. I think LF meant someone else as he mentioned another young man but it would be no shock to anyone if Olyvar accidentally brutally stabbed himself if the stomach whilst shaving

They mentioned the line from Dario to Danty on Thronecast and how she barely reacted. Dario brushed it off as a joke because of her lack of concern. She is in dire need a smack upside the head now; hopefully Tyrion will not be as impressed with her as she and everyone else is and will read her the riot act.

In other news, I'm pleased Samwell finally got together with Gilly Oh my indeed Grin

Degustibusnonestdisputandem · 26/05/2015 11:10

DH is now very smug that we've just about passed where the books have gotten to (I've read them, he hasn't) hmmph.

queensansastark · 26/05/2015 12:01

I actually don't want sansa to try and do anything silly with whatever she picked up on the walk with Ramsey....it would not end well....

limitedperiodonly · 26/05/2015 12:12

She almost pushed Joffrey off the castle walls after he had Ned executed but The Hound spotted it and stopped her, more to save Sansa from herself than Joffrey, I think.

Fiderer · 26/05/2015 14:45

She had the chance to go with The Hound as well. That would have been a different travelling duo than him and Arya. Where was he planning on taking her?

And another question, why didn't Jon Snow take Ghost with him when he went off to the Wildlings? I like the direwolves but now there's the rarely seen Ghost, Lady's dead, Nymeria (?) vanished and Bran's and Rickon's also MIA. Or MI-Inaction.

Narvinectralonum · 26/05/2015 15:24

Jon Snow didn't take Ghost so that he could save Sam and Gilly. Exigencies of the telly plot. He will probably help them escape to oldtown too. The whole Jon Snow Hardhome thing is made up for the telly to give us a set piece in one of the final episodes, so they can pretty much do what they want there (it's sad because in the books, the Hardhome situation is represented by a brilliant letter from Cotter Pyke (who isn't in the telly) which basically reads (I'm summarising here) 'Fuck! FUCK!! FUUUUUUUUUCK!!!! And slimey (well - icey) things did crawl with legs upon a slimey (or icey) sea....' Part of me wants to SEE that - because it sounds ace and the telly people can do with it as they will and make it really good (let's hope) - but it's sad we won't see the letter which is both funny and scarey at the same time. Unless Jon sends Sam a letter. But that wouldn't have the same impact (for a start, Jon is literate. Cotter Pyke isn't, someone else has written his letter for him. Jon is also probably braver).

Narvinectralonum · 26/05/2015 15:28

Sansa has made mistake after mistake after mistake. She could have told the truth about Joff and Nymeria. She didn't and as a result she lost Lady (something she may well come to regret). She could have gone quietly with Ned when he wanted to flee. She didn't. she could have gone with the Hound. She could have trusted Varys. She could have trusted Tyrion. But no. she chose to trust Ser Dontas and Littlefinger. In the telly, she could have trusted Brienne. In the books she could have appealed to the Lords Paramount. But no. Every time she made the wrong choice. She has VERY POOR judgement.

SaskiaRembrandtWasFramed · 26/05/2015 15:51

Yes, Sansa does have poor judgement. I know this won't be a popular view, but I think she tends to make decisions based on what is best for her, which isn't necessarily a bad thing except a) it leads her into ever more perilous situations, and b) the consequences for other people/creatures (Lady, Ned, Tyrion, Sir Dontas) are often dire. She could have trusted Arya, Ned, Tyrion, or The Hound, but instead she seems to lean towards people who really don't have her best interests at heart.

Narvinectralonum · 26/05/2015 16:12

She seems to be entirely selfish and somewhat stupid. Had she not been obsessed with being queen things might have turned out very differently. She's a bit of a waste of space on the page.

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 26/05/2015 16:15

Interesting perspective! In many ways, though, I think she's had the toughest time of all the Stark children because she's had so little control over what happens to her. Of course, one could argue that's because she's not made best use of her opportunities.

Narvinectralonum · 26/05/2015 16:46

She surrendered control gladly. Several times! And from that stems much of the ensuing story.

Narvinectralonum · 26/05/2015 16:48

Clearly Bran has had the worst time. He lost his legs! And now he's turning into a tree!! But actually it's probably Arya who has had by far the worst time. she just handled it pretty well (apart from that whole turning into a psychopath thing). Of course, we don't know yet whether Rickon has been forced to turn into a cannibal.
