I think Mary Berry has been 'encouraged' to remind the audience to bake stuff & sell it to raise funds for Comic Relief. If a 'celeb' bakes something vaguely tolerable she remarks it would be suitable for a bake sale.
It irks me that on programmes like this & Masterchef with 'celebs', the presenters are so much more forgiving when they cock up.

but the celebs are not pretending to be bakers, I doubt they want their careers to go down the baking route.

Yes you're right HoraceCope They're doing it for charity, not self aggrandisement ,though of course that does occur when you're on telly.

I loved the one with Dame Edna in it ! The comedy is what it's all about IMO.

It's weird when I saw Sarah Brown I was thinking she was the veggie chef whose cookery book I own, it's only on here that I realised she's the ex P.M.'s wife (is she the same person?).

I am pretty sure Sarah brown is not a chef,her introduction was quite strange but did not mention that

I am really enjoying it but DEAR GOD would some of them please put a hairnet on, or at least securely tie their hair back? None of these artful wisps falling forward, either. Hairs in food makes me heave.
