There is no need to bake pork pies. Shops and butchers sell them. These don't appear to have the grey layer and jelly that I remember from 70s pork pies on my Mum's buffet table.

Pork pies are just a bit 24hr garage aren't they? It's like the scotch egg. Our local wanky, middle class deli sells artisan scotch eggs. They look all frou frou and lovely but really they're just for lorry drivers and shit buffets. You will not be receiving four of my English pounds for an artisanal one.
