Is anyone else looking forward to this? It is going to be shown on Sunday nights once the present series of 'Call the Midwife' has finished.

I loved the original series even though the story did stray from the books a bit. I wonder how this one will go. I understand Robin Ellis has a bit part in the new version as the Reverend Halse.

Oh my goodness am wrung out.

Very depressing last episode.

Cooroo · 26/04/2015 22:00

Not often telly makes me cry. That was awful.

Softcookie · 26/04/2015 22:02

At least he declared his love for Demelza loud and clear although that shattered what remained of my heart "has she come to take you"

MissDemelzaCarne · 26/04/2015 22:03

No!! Sad

KiaOraOAotearoa · 26/04/2015 22:03

God, I've cried for most of this episode! That was just awful!!!
But really well played.
I'll go finish crying now. Jeez!

Travelledtheworld · 26/04/2015 22:04

Seeing him carry his baby's coffin brought a huge lump to my throat.

Softcookie · 26/04/2015 22:04

"Pray I do not lose the love of my life" oh my heart!

Beautiful acting there from Aidan. His scenes with baby Julia were just so moving - and the little coffin omg. He was so destroyed and dignified, totally believable. That smirk on the beach when he sees the inferno unleash - FANTASTIC moment so heavy with meaning

nannyj · 26/04/2015 22:05

That was so traumatic and I've read the book so knew what happened. The woman who's adapted it has done an amazing job. Can't believe it's over until next year.

Softcookie · 26/04/2015 22:05

Il going to go hug my pillow now. So so sad. Intense. Really great episode

Buglife · 26/04/2015 22:08

So I've never posted on this thread before but me and DH have been loving it (he's mainly enjoying it ironically apparently) but tonight just destroyed me. How awful.

Sallystyle · 26/04/2015 22:08

So what was talked about earlier in the thread.. the bad thing Poldark does.. does that happen? If it was going to happen would it have happened by now?

TheOneWiththeNicestSmile · 26/04/2015 22:09

we don't even think about the 'd' part of dpt any more, do we?

'In 2013 4,700 cases were officially reported down from nearly 100,000 in 1980. It, however, is believed that about a million cases occurred per year before the 1980s. It currently occurs most often in Sub-Saharan Africa, India, and Indonesia. In 2013 it resulted in 3,300 deaths down from 8,000 deaths in 1990'

Inkanta · 26/04/2015 22:10

The love of his life - thank goodness for that!!
