So frustrating watching this - surely some of this parenting falls into the neglect category?

Every parents knows the right answer - so it's not ignorance, it's choosing not to bother.

How can she be so blase when her daughter is in pain ffs?!!

ilovesooty · 18/02/2015 22:35

I think that teenager was being rude with her phone because she just doesn't want to discuss her weight.

That poor child and her teeth.

KirstyJC · 18/02/2015 22:35

Poor Tallullah - she seemed to be in such a lot of pain when her Mum finally got around to trying to clean her teeth. Sad

honestlies · 18/02/2015 22:35

she is 13 years old and 19 stone?

avocadotoast · 18/02/2015 22:35

This is so sad. I live in Leeds, I've been to that dental hospital, and while the staff are great it's not a nice place to have to be. Poor kids.

pinkpanda101 · 18/02/2015 22:36

So so so so so so soooooooo glad I persisted with water when my kids were toddlers. Even now, my 13yr old will only drink water or hot chocolate. Sometimes causes issues at parties when it's all fizzies or squash, but I think I'll get him to watch this and feel happier Grin

honestlies · 18/02/2015 22:36

tallulah's jacket potato was healthy, but it was an adult portion. not a kids one

HelenaDove · 18/02/2015 22:37

It can go too much the other way. I did get to a point where i became absolutely obsessed with my diet and in the last 18 months have completely withdrawn from my friends and having a social life in order to lose weight.

honestlies · 18/02/2015 22:38

how old is tallulahs brother?

NoArmaniNoPunani · 18/02/2015 22:38

I'm a dentist and I see so many children having full clearance of their teeth. It never stops upsetting me.

ilovesooty · 18/02/2015 22:39

It can't be breaking your heart that much if you're doing so little about it.

Sirzy · 18/02/2015 22:40

Exactly I love.

At least this family on now are trying to make changes

HelenaDove · 18/02/2015 22:41

i feel so sorry for these kids They should be having a carefree childhood.

honestlies · 18/02/2015 22:43

she let her eat baked beans, icecream and jellies before lunch???

BMO · 18/02/2015 22:43

She's only 13, why is she being allowed to eat a can of beans and tub of ice cream before dinner?

I would not give her pocket money if she is going to spend it on crap, any more than you'd give a 13 year old money knowing they'd buy drugs.

Damnautocorrect · 18/02/2015 22:44

That massive jacket potato little tallullah had 'it's not the food she's eating'. It was a large adults portion.

I'd say lazy tea lady may have been edited poorly (at least I hope!). I can't imagine being told something as devastating as 'your sons got a fatty liver' and still choose to feed the 'food he likes'.

The teenager (missed her name) clearly isn't ready, I'd be going down councilling or hypnotherapy.

VirginiaTonic · 18/02/2015 22:44

Tallulah's mother makes me soooo ANGRY! She is absolutely responsible for her daughters weight and tooth rot by her lazy, selfish, parenting. If you are too lazy to teach your baby to sleep without a bottle of juice you shouldn't have them!

HelenaDove · 18/02/2015 22:45

Raj is excersising so will gain a bit of muscle and that weighs more.

Damnautocorrect · 18/02/2015 22:45

I've got a water refuser so I know that in itself can be tricky

honestlies · 18/02/2015 22:46

tbh if she has gone up 4.5 stone in a year she is probably in denial

im going to watch it on +1 so not seen it. the teeth thing :( my fault of course but my son had 8 baby teeth out. this happend when my dad had cancer. i was my dads full time carer as well as looking after 2 small children on my own. everytime my son cried my dad would start shouting and getting quite irritated so to stop my dad from doing that i used to give my son lollipops to stop him crying :( but of course it still comes down to that i gave them to him.

my 7 year old has some holes in his teeth as well although he does not eat loads of sweets. i dont know what its called the dentist said he has something that makes him more prone to getting holes in his teeth. she said you could get 1 child that eats sweets everyday and does not have 1 hole in his tooth but then there could be a child that eats sweets 2 times a week and has lots of holes. so he rarely has sweets.

my son is 12 now and we are lucky that he now has lovely teeth

Mrsteddyruxpin · 18/02/2015 22:48

I am Shock at this programme. I bet far worse cases out there but refused to be filmed.

HelenaDove · 18/02/2015 22:48

The food industry needs sorting too.
