Am I the only one who thought Karen was a bloke?

Norrsken · 01/02/2015 10:30

I was sure Karen was a young bloke.

chockbic · 01/02/2015 12:25

Who has grassed up Gilou?

It won't be Alfonso. Too obvious.

TroelsNextCampaignManager · 01/02/2015 14:07

Can't stop thinking about this...

Whoever killed the daughter was close enough to her/ cared enough about her to drug her so she wouldn't realise what was happening, correct? But didn't give enough of a shit or had too much to lose to let her live. That probably could fit Jaulin, Zach or Karen for different reasons.

I still think the brother was copying some abuse he had witnessed, when he attacked that woman in the park. But who had he watched? The use of language suggested Jaulin was the most obvious candidate but now we've seen more of Karen and Zach it all seems fairly open again.

Did Sandrine want out of the setup and Zach or Karen killed her, even unintentionally, for letting them down? Had Jaulin realised that Sandrine was in touch with Zach and killed her out of jealousy, not wanting another man playing daddy to "his" boy? Was Jaulin actually working with the team as originally thought and forced Sandrine to play along?

Who actually benefited from Sandrine's death? She was helping Zach & co get places to live in and phones to use so was useful to them - no benefit in her death - so it must have been a pure rage attack instead if it was one of them.

Jaulin is the only one to benefit - as he potentially gets Leo if he plays his cards right and gets away with it.

Hmmmm Confused

TroelsNextCampaignManager · 01/02/2015 14:12

I originally thought Karen was a bloke too but do think we were meant to think that!

Chock - re Gilou - could it be Bremont getting his revenge for his grass being pinched? Or Ziani using his influence to find and kick a loose cog in the investigation against him?

Moanranger · 01/02/2015 15:36

Troels agree with you as to plot twists, but this will keep us watching ( unlike season 2 Broadchurch - I bailed after episode 2!). This is gripping, exceptional acting, great camera work. I too thought Karen male! I love the uniquely French bits, not just the legal system, but did anyone else pick up on the scene wher police describing someone entirely by their clothing style - tres Francais!

PTAblues · 01/02/2015 16:21

I'm swaying between Herville and the wife beating bloke- Djibril (?) setting Gilou up. Herville was the one who got the trackers and was so keen to use them and get his lot onto the case. On the otherhand Tintin keeps warning Gilou not to trust Djibril. Ziani will probably be at the head of it all - however it pans out. That's why he has been let out on bail. It wouldn't be much a story if he was languishing in on remand waiting for his court date.

carabos · 01/02/2015 17:33

I was gobsmacked when that bloke turned out to be a Karen. In fact, until she actually said she'd shared a room with Sandrine I thought something was lost in translation and Karen is a boy's name. Even after it became clear, I still couldn't see her as a girl Blush. I thought she was Laetitia's boyfriend!

aJumpedUpPantryBoy · 01/02/2015 19:42

I was convinced Karen was male- DH kept insisting she was female, said they were using feminine pronouns/forms when referring to her.
I told him he was losing his ear and was wrong...

cruikshank · 01/02/2015 22:24

Whoever it was who grassed Gilou up, they've done him a favour because Zach saw him at the desk and would know that the entire thing was a set-up if he was pretending to be a buyer.

Moanranger · 01/02/2015 22:53

Cruikshank Absolutement!

PTAblues · 02/02/2015 09:24

I suspected Karen was a girl because she reminded me of Snoop in The Wire.

fussychica · 02/02/2015 14:41

Karen a girl! How [shocked] were we. What a nasty bunch they all are.

Oh Gilou, not again - that's probably the promotion off the cards then. Laure stop doing these dangerous moves - think of the baby.

I missed a bit (unforgivable I know) & got slightly confused -who is the new character, tall bloke who was behind the bar ??

chockbic · 02/02/2015 15:53

I can see it being Bremont, with some personal jealousy involved too.

Menage a trois.

ActionManEyes · 02/02/2015 16:26

who is the new character, tall bloke who was behind the bar?

I forget his name, but he is a contact of Djibril's who also knows Zach (the ATM robber who got away and it seems also the father of Lucie Jaulin). I think.

wowfudge · 02/02/2015 16:36

He is Bensimon who was being set up to buy the trailer of stolen printer cartridges.

Can't believe people thought Karen was a bloke! Maybe my knowledge of French meant I knew she wasn't - she walks like a man, but definitely seems female to me.

wowfudge · 02/02/2015 16:39

There's no way Herville will stand up for Gilou either as he is trying to salvage his floundering career.

I liked the bad judge, good judge raid at Ziani's house - Roban at his charming best.

fussychica · 02/02/2015 18:09

Bensimon - that's him - thanks.

Roban - no news on what might be wrong with him yet. He seemed so lost without Marianne at first but looked like he was back on form for the raid.

violetwellies · 03/02/2015 08:57

Oh no, Gilou, buggerations. DP was unsure about Karen, couldn't make out whether she was a butch lass or a femme fella Grin,

AmazingDisgrace · 07/02/2015 22:14

The boss of Maitre Karlsson's new firm is a bit hot non? A leetle bit comme Jose Mourinho non?

AmazingDisgrace · 07/02/2015 22:33

Gilou!!!!! no !!!! Angry

smugmumofboys · 07/02/2015 23:08

Fabulous episodes tonight. I was Shock at the dog attack.

Naughty Gilou and sad Tintin. Sad

I was impressed that Herville seemingly has a conscience and refused to drop Gilou in it.

eddiemairswife · 07/02/2015 23:32

Good for Herville.

butterfliesinmytummy · 08/02/2015 04:50

Loved it when jaulin walked into Roban's office and Roban's temp hid the scissors from his desk!

Fabulous new episodes, I think Karen is highly suspicious!

LooseAtTheSeams · 08/02/2015 10:43

I think this has been the best series yet, despite the tragic loss of Pierre. Delighted to see case against Gilou collapse thanks to a combination of Josephine and Herville (honestly thought Herville would let him go to jail) but totally convinced that Gilou's latest escapade is going to land him in even more trouble.
Poor Tintin - Christine, no!!
