Spiral is back next Saturday, series 4. BBC 4 at 9pm.

OP posts:
cruikshank · 11/01/2015 21:07

Ooh, a Spiral thread! I was just about to start one and then I found you all - should have known mumsnetters would be talking about quality tv.

AmazingDisgrace, I agree entirely with your summation of Pierre and Gilou. Pierre is veh good-looking, but Gilou likes to fuck. I am even more in love with him now that he's taking charge of himself and wanting to co-parent with Laure (who I also have a huge woman-crush on).

Also agree about Marianne and Roban.

It's not the brother. I think it might be the grandfather - we haven't heard a lot from him yet, have we?

I love this programme. I love how everyone in it is complex and compromised. Nothing neat, no little boxes. It's brilliant. And this series is shaping up to be one of the best yet.

AmazingDisgrace · 11/01/2015 21:07

I quite like a natural smelling man Grin Grin

Moanranger · 11/01/2015 21:35

Do we love Laure's sheepskin coat? So bad it's good....

cruikshank · 11/01/2015 21:37

Laure could walk around in a bin-bag and still look sexy. The coat would make me look like a lumpy old woman who has lost the fashion plot but on her it's great.

fussychica · 12/01/2015 09:26

Berthaud is sex on legs - we call her "dirty Laure" partly because of he sexiness and general willingness to jump into bed with anyone at the drop of a hat and partly because her personal hygiene leaves a lot to be desired. She always looks like she needs a shower and despite her bleeding problem this week there was no sign of any hand washingShock.

I fancy Tintin Shock

I love, love, love this programme.

chockbic · 12/01/2015 13:45

Really glad this show is back.

Something to get your teeth into. Or eyes, I suppose.

LooseAtTheSeams · 12/01/2015 16:57

Must admit I was also slightly mesmerised by Josephine's hair colour. Definitely a deeper red than I remembered.

I was a bit ?? When Roban suddenly started to help Josephine but of course he would not be happy about the defence being switched to a lawyer who always takes the police's side. (The armchair 'falling off a balcony' and destroying the police car so there was no evidence was a nice touch!)

cruikshank · 12/01/2015 19:06

I don't approve of Josephine's new look - obviously been going to Rebekkah Brooks' hair stylist. Non, Josephine, non!

chockbic · 13/01/2015 15:12

Just as slippery as RB Wink

WalkingThePlank · 15/01/2015 23:11

Only just watched this on iplayer.

My theory is that grandpa used to abuse Sandrine and she discovered him abusing Lucie which ended in the murders. Grandma probably knew about the abuse of Sandrine and blamed it on her.

Possibly the brother went mad as a result of abuse or knowing about it.

wowfudge · 17/01/2015 16:08

Walking - interesting theory and one I thought myself. The little girl was drugged with sleeping pills the implication being that the murderer didn't want to actually kills her with his/her own hands.

Knowing Spiral it will be more horrible than anything imagined.

cruikshank · 17/01/2015 16:31

I was wondering about possible abuse myself. Also if the child was the grandfather's, but then that would make the woman quite old when she fell pregnant, so maybe not.

I literally cannot wait for tonight's episode!

AmazingDisgrace · 17/01/2015 20:53

Thierry Godard commented on a FB post that me and a mate were discussing Spiral on. He sent me smileys. Clearly he wants me Grin Do I get divorcing DH now or should I wait for Thierry to bend the knee?

PTAblues · 18/01/2015 16:15

I am really enjoying this series.
I'm thinking the grandfather has something to do it with it as well.
However I hate Josephine's pale peach silky pyjama bottoms.

cruikshank · 18/01/2015 16:56

AmazingDisgrace, I am so Envy that there are not enough Envy emoticons to do it justice. You've practically shagged him!

PTAblues I'm really enjoying it as well - I was worried with all the bomb thing that they had jumped the shark, but they've come back with a belter. I was actually wringing my hands when the women were beating Laure up.

aJumpedUpPantryBoy · 18/01/2015 17:07

I'm really enjoying this series. I love Gilou and am very jealous of Amazing for her social interaction with him!

PTA I hated Josephine's pyjama bottoms (usually she looks amazing) but when I commented on them DH looked at my ancient faded Winnie the Pooh PJs and burst out laughing

LooseAtTheSeams · 18/01/2015 17:48

I really love Gilou's expression every time Herville calls him into his office. Also the way Herville and Laure are never actually in the same room at the same time (lots of carefully timed door opening!)
Thought the scene where Tintin hears what Laure thinks of him over the speaker phone was very well done.
Meanwhile, Roban appears to be getting a little carried away: Marianne may have to have words with him at this rate!
Josephine's PJs are just wrong.

AmazingDisgrace · 18/01/2015 18:08
Grin

Josephine's PJs are a bit 1970s. I loved last night's episodes, Laure better not be taking my Gilou's offer to co-parent. I have my limits you knowAngry

Moanranger · 24/01/2015 18:52

Re Josefine's hair etc, recently read an article about cutting edge French style & it is apparently de rigeur to have " bed hair" which goes some way to explaining Josefine's/Laure's current coiffures. Josefine used to be tres soigné..... No more!

carabos · 24/01/2015 20:36

Josefine is obviously tge Twilight vampire Victoria hiding in plain sight. Gotta love a bad-to-the-bone Frenchwoman.

TroelsNextCampaignManager · 24/01/2015 22:54

Whhhhaaaaaattttttt???

Twiceover · 24/01/2015 23:00

Noooooo

smugmumofboys · 24/01/2015 23:02

Not the divine Pierre!

chockbic · 24/01/2015 23:03

When he was looking around, thought he might go for the judge.

Not lovely Pierre. Lovely Pierre.

Josephine didn't even get the words out.

Chocolateteacake · 24/01/2015 23:03

Flesh wound? A plaster and bedrest and he'll be fine...
