I wonder if BA has got his birthday card yet? That feels like ages ago now.

cherin what a nightmare but my eldest has been ill this week, he was terrible 2 days ago but fine again now so your DSs might be shot of it all ready for your trip, better it happening now than when you get there.

There is a new 'M' fanfic, might gonna get QS rating Blush

Ilovelblue · 18/12/2014 19:44

beingfrank now it's drained, do you feel ok again?

cherin I'm very fortunate to have private health cover from work so I should be ok for more treatment if necessary. Just hoping the surgeon is happy with his handiwork and that nothing else is needed.

Saw the M rated fanfic earlier - phew! Hot flushes again.

Remembered it's my neighbour's birthday tomorrow and although I've got him a Christmas present, I forgot about his birthday, in amongst all the other stuff I've been doing. Just rustled up a Victoria sandwich cake for him. It might not be up to Mary Berry's exacting standards but it looks ok to me. Best go and deliver it before I fall asleep!

Richtea19 · 18/12/2014 20:30

Cherin that's a bit shit about the poorly kids. Hopefully over the next few days they will get over it before your travels. I hope you will be in contact when you're away? We are off to Canterbury for the weekend to visit friends and the 3G is rubbish. I've grown very attached to you lot!

Richtea19 · 18/12/2014 20:50

ITV A Night of heroes, plenty of tears and combats!

pixieg1rl · 18/12/2014 21:03

Do I watch the Fall? I've missed last week and we aren't up to iplayer yet.

Ilovelblue · 18/12/2014 21:12

Just seen Lacey Turner handing out an award. She looked lovely - very different than in her combats!

When I told you the other day about my flight in a Hawk, I remembered there had been a programme on BBC Wales where Rhod Gilbert also flew in a Hawk. It's disappeared off iPlayer now but this link shows the outfit he had to wear. He's probably taller than me as well! The second photo shows the dynamite in the aircraft canopy - if you'd had to eject, it would shatter the canopy. Best not to think about it as you sit behind the pilot and taxi-ing down the runway at 600mph!

The ITV Military Hero awards have prompted me to log in and touch base!

Haven't had a chance to catch up and see what everyone has been up to yet. Have I missed anything important?

Almost wet myself with excitement Ilove a few minutes ago. Popped out to get the washing out and put it in the dryer when DH appeared and told me "That bloke you fancy and the girl from EastEnders are on". I literally trampled him to the ground to get back to the tv.....only to see Lacey and Damian Lewis Sad. I do like Damian, he's lovely (and I think might actually go down rather well in Combat gear) but for one moment there.....

Anyway, back to the tv and emotions of seeing all those amazing men and women. They truly all do an amazing job.

Ilovelblue · 18/12/2014 21:29

stressybird I just caught the programme from about 8.40 pm and I saw Lacey Turner in a clip for the next part after the adverts. Knew BA couldn't be around (or very unlikely) but still a little part of me hoped. Damian Lewis is pretty ok but he's not BA, is he? Big sigh......

Nickel45 · 18/12/2014 21:42

Hey stressy, welcome back ... Hope you have fun catching up :)
I've just started watching the awards (I can't believe how many nights I fall asleep on the floor!), its very moving, am going to watch on +1. Not the sort of thing I would usually watch, but after OG it's fascinating and more real, does that sound really stupid?!! Given OG is only a TV show???!!!

apsara03 · 18/12/2014 21:50

Not at all Nickel. I think we all need the personal story to get a handle on the bigger picture, even if it is fiction, OG portrayed a real situation. I wouldn't normally watch it but have got it on now despite DH's groans

Richtea19 · 18/12/2014 21:55

I'm glued to it, I missed the first 20 mins or so. I don't usually watch this sort of program as too emotional, tears.... But it is so interesting having watched OG, I feel like an expert. I will watch the Fall later on catch up.
Good to hear from you stressy

moojangles · 18/12/2014 21:55

Good that everyone getting to see everything HMF do

stressybird · 18/12/2014 22:08

Hi Nickel, no that doesn't sound stupid, I'm exactly the same. I probably would have had it on in the background before or started watching it and switched over. Even though I've always had the utmost respect for our Forces, I do feel that OG def made it more real and opened up my eyes a lot more (no, not just to CJ Wink!)

I have literally cried myself through this tonight though. Probably due to being exhausted from work lately and the run up to Xmas but also because DS, since he's been about 4, has been adamant he's going to join the Army and has even stepped it up a notch recently (which I swear is nothing to do with me). I know it's probably just little boy speak but even when I watched smurf's mum in OG....well, you get the picture.

Anyway, moving swiftly on before I get too emotional, I'm looking forward to a few days off and a catch up on developments on here. Am also looking forward to work Xmas do tomorrow night and Secret Santa. I'm not getting my hopes up, but I think it might be CJ related as I have practically told my workmates that their life will be a living hell at work if it's not Xmas Grin

Beingfrank · 18/12/2014 22:42

Iloveblue - yes all fine now, it was a little bit tender the following day but all forgotten now. I hope your check up goes well tomorrow.

Just went out for an impromptu meal with dh - we don't get out nearly enough! So I've not watched the fall yet. Hour and a half apparently? I'm saving that for tomorrow now. Still find Jamie Dornan underwhelming though!

Nickel45 · 18/12/2014 23:59

Bother, didn't get anything done tonight. Oh well .. Still a few more evenings to go .... Will focus up and dig in tomorrow!

ilove hope everything goes ok tomorrow at the hospital.
cherin hope the kids get better and you don't get ill.

Richtea19 · 19/12/2014 07:50

Brilliant!! I have to say when I read that icemist, straight away I thought I might look up flight arrivals from Canada!!! I'm not too far from LGW or LHR!!!

Ilovelblue · 19/12/2014 07:51

I'm just thinking how lucky those stewardesses will be on that London bound flight! Christmas will have come early for them! Bet BA will get the best sort of attention all the way!

Nickel45 · 19/12/2014 07:52

Aw, that's good! Has it gone mad on the FB lots page yet?!

Today's mission is to get all my Christmas cards sent .... Gonna need a coffee, coffee shop with no wifi and no mobile signal, and 100% focus, what do you reckon? Any chance?!!!

Nickel45 · 19/12/2014 07:52

richtea, we'd need photos :)

icemistOBE · 19/12/2014 08:08

Should be Heathrow - British airways (ooh BA flying with BA) or air canada

I actually live under the heathrow flight path - so likely to be very close to him at some point today, depending on which way the wind is blowing!
