I know but wasn't she in referred to him via the anti violence against women organisation? Forget what they calked it in the programme. My point was a a victim of such a crime, they wouldnt dream of getting a man in whether grief or rape counsellor. Or did i miss something?

YonicScrewdriver · 24/11/2014 07:04

The Alice Monroe Fund wrote to Paul. I assumed they'd written to many suitably qualified counselors. The letter surely should have gone to his work address though.

And Joe wasn't mentioned at all by either if them.

rootypig · 24/11/2014 07:28

I don't think he rapes his victims, does he?

There was some discussion of this in series 1, but I can't remember clearly. But there's no mention of it.

I couldn't get RTE 1 to work. Their system too tricksy for my cunning international plug ins. Will have to wait.

Blondeshavemorefun · 24/11/2014 10:12

Does seem weird to have a male under her circumstances

Not sure why I thought he raped them? Tho thoight ga in hospital said they needed to take semen swabs

rootypig · 24/11/2014 11:23

I remember that, but I thought they concluded that he didn't. I may be wrong.

Yes daft plot device, the counselling, just would never happen. I think in the writer's ming, Paul is seeing if Annie would recognise him. Also if she did now identify him, he could argue that they've met legitimately and she's confused. He came back to Belfast to sort out the ones who could lead to him: Annie, Katie, Rose.

And GA continued to call him Peter on the phone, so he's still under the illusion that his cover isn't blown.

rootypig · 24/11/2014 11:23

writer's mind, I should say

OnlyLovers · 24/11/2014 14:16

Marking place.

Gibson's boss is trying to undermine her at every step. Maybe she was a bit short with her staff member, but it did sound as though he hadn't done a great job (SPector 'seemed like a good bloke' so he didn't feel the need to question him very thoroughly Hmm ).

The babysitter is acting a bit strangely, but I think she's mega-hormonal, impressionable and after some thrills, and wants to impress her friend. She thinks that what she's doing is madly grown-up and glamorous. I can't think how it's going to end though.

I think Paul's wife should be more worried/suspicious.

I love Stella even more this series.

BingoBonkers · 24/11/2014 18:12

I can't remember if he did rape them or not. I thought he killed them, bathed, cleansed them, positioned them and then took a video and following one murder we saw him in front of his PC masturbating? At least that's what I thought?

YonicScrewdriver · 24/11/2014 18:16

No, I don't think he rapes the women.

rootypig · 24/11/2014 18:41

Yes, Bingo, I remember a reference to him making his own pornography?

Cocolepew · 24/11/2014 19:04

GA was on Graham Nortons, radio show and spoke in an English accent, she said its her natural one. She puts on an American accent.

We3KingyofOblomovAre · 24/11/2014 20:15

yes I too didn't think that he was a rapist particularly. actually what exactly IS He?

hollyisalovelyname · 24/11/2014 20:21

Ah Rootypig that's a pity you couldn't get RTE 1. R you in N.I. ?
I have that problem with the BBC player. I think I might have it on my underused ipad.
You'll enjoy it Thursday. As usual suspension of disbelief is required but it is nerve wracking.
God,GA has lovely blouses.... and I'm not the only one to noticeWink
I think during the first season I started a thread on The Fall and commented on her silk blouse and wondered where it came from. It might be in Style and Beauty.

whatevermaycome · 24/11/2014 20:40

If his victims are not always going to be female then perhaps he's going to kill the Norman Bates style B&B owner ?

Read an article a while back in the Radio Times in which the writer and/or? Director said his enjoyment came from the final 'art' of the women he had killed - Confused

YonicScrewdriver · 24/11/2014 20:59

Doesn't Joe count as the not female victim?

TheDogsMissingBollock · 24/11/2014 21:07

But he never plans to target men, does he? That guy just got in the way. Wonder if that'll change.

BingoBonkers · 24/11/2014 21:46

I couldn't wear silk blouses. Makes me shudder.

DustBunnyFarmer · 24/11/2014 21:58

I thought he might have murdered Rose's husband, but the dopey bugger was up & about the next morning as if nothing had happened.

Gumnast2014 · 25/11/2014 01:07

Don't know if it's been in second series but what was his journal about?

Was MN at time and missed it! Is it pictures of what he has done?

BOFster · 25/11/2014 01:23

The hairdresser thing seemed daft to me- Annie was complaining about her hair being in her face (solution: hairdresser, apparently), but her hair has obviously been long for years. It was just a clunky way to allude to the ever-so-helpful bobble round her wrist, suggested by GA's character.

Another daft thing that jumped out at me was when Rose tried to open the car door, but was thwarted by the "child lock". Which you only get in the back seats of any cars I've ever known.

rootypig · 25/11/2014 04:32

holly I am in California Grin
(but British)

gumnast he had some sort of journal where he made entries for his victims - he would typically steal their ID or a photo when he broke in the first time, then draw and write about their death, presumably, before and after the fact. Part fantasy, part diary Confused

DustBunnyFarmer · 25/11/2014 06:52

To be fair, he's quite a gifted artist even if he does use his powers for evil. The topless sketch of the woman he was counselling, drawn in session whilst her thuggish husband was sitting next to her was special.

Sandancer · 25/11/2014 08:04

If I remember rightly, Spector burned his journal along with the mannequin in the boot of his car. He drove to a quarry and set fire to it. I wonder if his wife ever asked where his car was?

YonicScrewdriver · 25/11/2014 08:24

Yy BOF.

apparently counsellors and nurses are paid enough to get replacement cars at the drop of a match...

YonicScrewdriver · 25/11/2014 08:28

Hang on, I've just remembered. Annie saw him at the bar when he picked up her purse.
