Because his real name is Paul.

TheDietStartsTomorrow · 22/11/2014 23:42

Rose's husband seems too calm. Something's obviously wrong and in light of the conversation he had with her the night before about why she was going to see GA and the police presence, it seems mad that he's not hysterical about her whereabouts.

I find it hard to believe that a 6 year old who saw a stranger in the house would act in such a way. My 6 year old DD would come running to me if she saw any stranger in the house at any time of the day.

Blondeshavemorefun · 22/11/2014 23:50

True. Rose has just told him that she was seeing ps at uni - don't know if she told him he raped her? She did say sorry when he got into bed :(

Tho didn't she wrote a note on the kitchen table

But now that ga and police know ps is the killer - fingerprint on scissors - then maybe he will worry more as now knows rose has been kidnapped - plus what daughter told police lady about Peter piper being in the house last night

rootypig · 23/11/2014 01:55

I don't think he raped Rose did he? they had a consensual sexual relationship, and he strangled her. He doesn't rape his victims, does he?

Re the name, I still think it's possible he was raised peter and became Paul, that the efit sent him after Rose.

EachandEveryone · 23/11/2014 03:53

I would put money on him really being called Peter.

rootypig · 23/11/2014 03:59

I thought that, Each. I said upthread that the police in his voluntary interview said something about not being able to find a history of him in Belfast. He then said he was raised in children's homes. I thought then that the lack of records might have been because he constructed his current identity.

We'll see!

BingoBonkers · 23/11/2014 06:55

I am hooked this series but nowhere near as gripped as I was with the first.

Some bits are annoying me tbh.

GA is getting on my nerves a bit now.

We3KingyofOblomovAre · 23/11/2014 07:55

Right. Have read whole thread. so glad I've got you guys here!! because without you pointing things out - that tom was the brother who got stabbed, etc, I would be totally lost!!
I was on the thread for series 1 and it helped a lot then.

I loved GA and her blouses!! But I agree they are now lingering on her too much. and some if the plot failings are really starting to irritate and let it down.

Mind you, I still love it, and will watch it, because there's nothing else on!!!

YonicScrewdriver · 23/11/2014 09:04

I think that's right, rooty and Each.

Gumnast2014 · 23/11/2014 10:07

The final of the second series is on 17th December with a 90 min special!!

BingoBonkers · 23/11/2014 10:42

90 minutes?!!

TheDogsMissingBollock · 23/11/2014 13:23

Found second episode more gripping.

hollyisalovelyname · 23/11/2014 13:26

On tonight on RTE 1.
No spoilers though for the BBC 2 viewers. I promise.
I hope there isn't more suspension of disbelief.
Re one poster:
I thought that a Marie Stopes clinic had opened in Belfast ?

DustBunnyFarmer · 23/11/2014 15:59

If I recall, the Marie Stopes clinic in Belfast only offers medical terminations (the tablets), not surgical, but I could be wrong.

TheDietStartsTomorrow · 23/11/2014 19:10

I hope the 90 minute episode doesn't include an extra 30 mins of GA swimming laps gracefully, or looking increasingly thoughtful or giving someone a thoughtful look whilst whispering a question to them in a supposedly non seductive, yet highly seductive way.

Gileswithachainsaw · 23/11/2014 19:21

I thought the episode was good. I can't believe that baby sitter though. why is she not reporting him Confused

what does he have to do to her

CoolCadbury · 23/11/2014 19:30

diet Grin

So I am the only one who thinks she sounds a bit Thatcheresque?

rootypig · 23/11/2014 20:32

I had no idea that Irish viewers got it earlier than us! I can watch it online! squeegee

rootypig · 23/11/2014 20:32

Squee! no squeegees involved Hmm

CateBlanket · 23/11/2014 20:41

It's all a bit daft really. Well, very daft actually.

TheDogsMissingBollock · 23/11/2014 21:02

Good daft though! Dh & i were just saying how v unlikely it wd be that such a high profile rape victim couldn't be found a female counsellor in all of NI. When all eape centres, i believe, are excluded from the sex discrimination act as thry recruit ONLY women, for example. For v obvious reasons. That scene was the creepiest of the lot for me. The cheek of him!

Wandathewindfairy · 23/11/2014 21:14

Oooo cunningly I get Rte 1. I didn't know it was on on a
Sun. Have just watched Thursday tonight as DH wasn't here, perhaps a double bill........

forago · 23/11/2014 23:08

GA English accent is getting so forced now.

TheDogsMissingBollock · 23/11/2014 23:13

Gets a little transatlantic but does the job. She has lived much of her life inc half her childhood here after all. I heard a theatre goer complaining about bloody Brits trying to play Americans when GA did Street Car! So she cant win..

Lurleene · 23/11/2014 23:17

TheDogsMissingBollock - I think Paul is a Grief Counsellor there to counsel her over the loss of her brother, not a Rape Counsellor, so maybe that's why?
