Anyone watching this drivel?
although slightly enjoyed the family dynamics going on last night, unfortunately DD's favourite programme and in fact Guardian seems to recommend it Hmm

OOh thank you (re sound track).

Loose Women? I'm not sure about that, he doesn't really seem (to me) to fit with that kind of show, think he'd be great on Chris Evans' breakfast show, or maybe Graham Norton.

This is the website I was looking at re sound track. I don't think all the songs are there. but it's not an official list.

Hope the link works!

IrnBruTheNoo · 25/10/2014 20:32

Loved it, really enjoyed watching it.

Oh I'm so jealous! We will be expecting a full report, obviously!

lyndie · 25/10/2014 21:50

I am so jealous too!! I am in London the weekend after. May need to take a wee detour Blush

ihearttc · 25/10/2014 21:57

Tomorrow is going to be operation convince DH that he needs to be around that day so I can go!!

One thing I'm slightly concerned about...a carol service involves singing and I really can't sing!! Do you think anyone would notice me miming lol!!

Ilovelblue · 25/10/2014 22:42

NappyValley - you are amazing! I concur with everything you say so eloquently. If there is a vacancy next year to lead the country, I think you should take it!

Richtea - definitely agree with you that Ben is more attractive because we know so little about him other than the television series. I work with somebody who is very good looking and a lovely person to boot, but because he seems unaware of his looks and personality, it makes him even more attractive (and far too young, before you say anything).

Mandy214 - can't really describe my day in words from the series - but I can keep it light! I met a friend this afternoon who I knew had watched the programme and who was a fan of CJ/Ben. Ah, I thought, my only excuse this week to talk to a real person and to discuss the finer points of everything in depth. How disappointed was I? Yes, she loved it (and had indeed sent me a photo on Sunday night before the final episode). Finer points? Hmmm, started to look at me in a strange way and said "How many times have you watched it then?" and her tone wasn't especially complimentary! Felt it wholly inappropriate to confess everything - will stick with MN I think - oh, and canvassing complete strangers (receptionists at my dentist's and dentist's surgeries).

Over 21,000 likes on Facebook now. Just watched a recording of last night's Graham Norton but BA is not advertised as a guest for next week. Sad

For anyone relying on iPlayer for episodes 1 and 2, I see tomorrow is the last day they are available

Smurfingreat · 25/10/2014 22:50

Last day available! Nooooooo. Changed the magic telly box this week so totally reliant on Iplayer and the DVD isn't released to the 3rd of November - do they think we can go cold turkey? The cruelty.. Shock

Ilovelblue · 25/10/2014 22:55

Smurfingreat - I have episodes 3-5 recorded so can get a reasonable fix but have watched 1 and 2 a couple of times ok more times than I care to admit last night and tonight. Just the Molly and CJ bits really but you instinctively knew that, didn't you?

Clocks go back tonight remember so an extra hour in which to watch our hero and heroine.

Ilovelblue · 25/10/2014 22:56

NappyValley - I am so damn jealous! I take it you decided it wasn't going to be a family outing after all?

Smurfingreat · 25/10/2014 22:58

I have done my best to mitigate the effects of this evilness. Ipad is currently downloading episodes one and two, which I can apparently keep for a week. Leaving me a couple of days gap, where hopefully Youtube will suffice. evil bastards

BrodiesBabe · 25/10/2014 23:15

Missed you lovely people today! Sorry not to be able to pop in at all.

So jealous of those able to get to carol concert.

NVM - I agree entirely on leaving out speculation or discussion of Ben's private life or family etc. That is an automatic no no. There is a big difference between admiring an actor for his roles and the public persona that accompanies that (which includes appearing at things such as charity concerts) and invading privacy.

On withdrawal matters - doesn't the DVD come out on the 3rd Nov? Only a week and a bit before we can have and hold it forever. Smile

BrodiesBabe · 25/10/2014 23:17

Not sure that last post was clear. I meant there's a difference with admiring the actor in role plus his public persona as an actor ... and then between invading his privacy, speculating and delving into too much personal detail.

cherin · 25/10/2014 23:21

Ladies, for diversion I have been reading about some real lives Molly Dawes ;-)
Check this out:
www.dailymail.co.uk/femail/article-1375233/Mother-told-Military-Cross-hero-daughter-Kylie-Watson-Oh-Kylie-What-did-Next-time-don-t-.html

This story, too, is as inspirational and heroic and anticonventional as you can get, albeit 60 years old:
en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Noor_Inayat_Khan
(Would THAT not deserve a movie??)

cherin · 25/10/2014 23:23

Ps: if you download the files on iPad/iPhone you can watch keep them for 30days or watch them for 7. Weirdly, I could only do so for ep 1,2 and 5. Don't know why 3 and 4 have no download button.
But I think they are already available on iTunes? No?

cherin · 25/10/2014 23:24

(Yes, just checked. 2.49£/each)

mandy214 · 25/10/2014 23:25

Nappy oooh, am very excited for you, can't wait for you to report back.

Ilove I agree that us Mnetters are obviously a more dedicated bunch. I honestly can't understand how anyone could have watched it and not loved it. Your friend is obviously strange / hasn't watched it enough / didn't pay full attention to the programme Grin.

I am now completely taken with the sound track.

Shosha1 · 25/10/2014 23:28

DH is on nights tonight. So spent the whole evening watching the whole series from start to finish again. :)

Ilovelblue · 25/10/2014 23:33

Mandy - strangely, she is a real telly addict as a rule. I personally think she has probably watched it more times than she admitted to me but can be a bit prudish and won't realise/doesn't accept that so many women old enough to be CJ/Ben's mother are drooling and fantasising!

Richtea19 · 26/10/2014 00:28

Just got in from a party and all evening desparatley wanted to engage someone into Our Girl, no one had watched it! Who are these people that are raising the bbc figures?

Concerned that episodes aren't going to be available on iplayer. I haven't ordered DVDs as I really want to be able to watch on my iPad as a little more private, ie away for kids etc! Can I pay to download from iTunes?

NVM. So excited about the concert. I can't sing, but love wine and mince pies and BA/CJ. We will have a wonderful time whatever happens. X
