although slightly enjoyed the family dynamics going on last night, unfortunately DD's favourite programme and in fact Guardian seems to recommend it

Think I must of been a detective in a previous life! Yes spotted that one of the "dance" with trendy bearded man. My though was Ben doesn't have a girl friend (clearly waiting to meet an older more mature women...) and felt he needed to join in on the group dancing so grabbed the nearest hand, which happened to be the nice looking bearded man. Still very optimistic is is not gay!

Wedding looks very trendy though?

Mandy just watched episode one again jesus christ I need to get a life and Molly definitely said cockwombles. Unless I am now hallucinating..

I just watched some bits of episode 1. I just spotted for the first time that after Molly and Smurf were winched into the helicopter he gave the platoon a bollocking saying how unprofessional it was - but then under his breath he said 'it was also fucking awesome'! lush.

I have jutted asked MN to take down the two photos i put on as well. Think after a few glasses of wine last night seemed like a good idea. Will focus more on CJ, and in doing so butter watch a few more clips. I haven't started reading the scrips yet either. I'll get the coffee on (confession I ordered Rosabaya pods!) and have a little read!

At the risk of sounding like a complete fruit loop I was on another forum a few years ago now which was all about a storyline from a Soap involving 2 particular characters. Anyway we all loved the story and the characters so it carried on pretty much like we are on here for the best part of a year (obviously the characters were still in it so we could talk about what was going to happen etc) then we all ended up adding each other on FB and then we organised a huge meet up in London.

I became really good friends with one of the people on there as she lived quite near me and we did some 'stalking" together and ended up meeting one of the celebrities.

So yes it can happen and I think its a fab idea...and I promise Im completely normal just a little smitten with CJ.

Hear hear!! Will respond in more detail later...need to go hunting for football boots and other mundane mum tasks!

Wonderfully written post.

I definatley lost control in the early hours and now reflecting on what it must be like for the likes of BA. I think that this huge response to his acting role has probably come as a complete surprise to him, and possibly this is why he has kept away from press and follow up stories. In a way I find this so much more attractive. Dreadful when you see pictures of so called celebrities plastered all over magazines falling out of nightclubs. Personally I dont want to see our BA/CJ in any of these sort of pictures.

I am still very tempted to go to the carol concert though!

Yes, lets keep it light. To be fair, everyone well not everyone but those most obsessed amongst us were / are involved in this discussion because we have loved the series, the love story, the acting, the characters, the drama, the insight into Afghanistan / the military and the kind of 'things to take away from that' given that we've all been affected / touched / moved by the programme. The desire to find out more about Capt James (BA) was due to him being relatively unknown and us wanting to know more about him. But yes, we should all remember that he is not in fact Capt James and just an ordinary bloke (albeit having chosen a career that attracts a certain about of publicity / admiration especially when you're THAT good looking!).

I love the alignment of lines from the script to describe last night .

I think that should be our mission for today, to report back on any daily / normal occurrences that could be described by a line from the series.

NappyValleyMum what a good post. I love that this thread has a conscience and actually considers the real person behind the character, and their friends and family!

For me, it's lovely to find I can still get a 'crush' on an actor/s (must confess I have also followed the Benedict Cumberbatch threads!) and it's wonderful to find some like minded people to chat drool with.

I think as much as we are curious about an actor's private life - it's a fictional character we're drawn to, so it doesn't really matter if BA is gay or straight (to state the obvious - I may sigh wistfully but it's not like I stand a chance either way.)

It's all about the work, and what makes me appreciate an actor is how well they act, and to some extent their professional conduct.

richtea if you want to go, go! The Carol concert is a public, charitable event to which BA has chosen to lend his support, so nothing wrong with fans attending. Surely the whole point of him and others being there is to attract publicity and a wider audience for a good cause. More the merrier I reckon!

Shame I don't live anywhere near London - it would be nice to turn up and show appreciation for him bringing the gorgeous Captain to life. A job he's "bloody good at".

I agree with everything that has been said today. We've all scoured the web and I think it's quite telling that there is so little information out there, and has been said before, the lack of interviews. I'm really interested to see where Ben Aldridge's career goes now (so long as he still finds time to fit in at least one more series of Our Girl lol). I listened to the soundtrack last night - fabulous- and definitely had a lot to do with the success of the series as well as the brilliant filming. I think we need a closed Fb group !

There's no official soundtrack but there is a few lists on spotify with all the songs on.
I have also bought my fave songs on iTunes.
I think there is very little on BA as he's not had a major TV role before this one but he has done quite a bit of theatre work. And I guess that unless you follow theatre press you wouldn't be really aware of interviews he's done with them and would mainly be promotional.
I would love to see him on some chat show though- I thought loose women would be good fun but maybe he's been asked and said no ??
Anyhoo I need to try and get my daily fix of him in his army gear ??
