To be honest, I don't really mind if it's a prequel or Series 2 as long as we get more Capt James!
I find I'm appreciating the writing and acting much more the second time and finding it more believable, if I can say that (not that I found it hard to believe in first time). I think it's because I was so panicky that they weren't going to get it together first time of watching that I spent too much time analysing everything and reading into things that maybe weren't there. What has struck me watching again and knowing that he's as dotty for her as she is for him is how natural and human he really is. He is like a little boy at some points and I really love that. He's flawed and realistic. Love, love that.
It's been mentioned before about the cinematography (can you use that term for a TV series??). It was beautifully shot. I remember particularly a scene in Episode 4 where Smurf and Molly are in the back room of the bunker (just before Smurf exits, Capt enters and ... sigh, bliss). Smurf is standing looking out of the window with the light coming in. It is an absolutely gorgeous shot - looks like a painting.
Dress uniform at funeral - I think at the first time of watching I was still too shocked by Smurf's death to react to it too much, but, yes, that will do nicely, sir.
Oh, and is the working out bit in ep 2? I thought I'd watched all his bits (ahem) last night but I must have missed that bit. Argh! That's one of my fave bits. Molly just cannot help sneak a peak. Who can blame her?
Yes, still obsessed ...
