although slightly enjoyed the family dynamics going on last night, unfortunately DD's favourite programme and in fact Guardian seems to recommend it

Mandy214 - Fanfiction.net's default setting is to only show stories rated below the M rating (which is for more mature audiences). You have to select that you want to show the M stories too. If you are on the browse feature and you've got to TV Shows then go to the letter O then click on Our Girl. You then click on 'Filters' which should come up in the top middle of the page. Then change the Rating from K-> T to 'All' or even just M if you're in the mood . It should then show ALL stories, including My Man and others ... You can also choose other filters too, such as particular characters or genres. I hasten to add that I did actually have to go to the site to figure out how to do this!! I couldn't just remember it all!

Agree with you lyndie - and I cannot say I have ever, ever watched one TV series more than a dozen times over. I think I may have corrupted the recordings as I have played them so much. The sound seems to have gone on one episode, the bits with Captain James in needless to say. Thank goodness I have pre-ordered the DVD!

Oh and final confession of the evening is that the only TV programme I watch religiously is Holby and tonight I have just set it to record so that I can see Captain James/Ben again and again and again.....

Thank you Brodies, I believe your explanation of having to check. Honest . My H has just come into the room and asked me what I am doing, I explained I was reading Fan Fiction about Captain James. If he was slightly disturbed before, he has just gone out again shaking his head in disbelief that a) people have written stories and b) that I am spending my evening reading them.

Interviews- its interesting that there are only the "official" BBC interviews - neither CJ or Smurf seem to have done any interviews / plugging.

Mandy214, I have seen something Smurf did, somewhere on the internet but can't quite remember where. I think it may have been on BBC Wales or something like that. I will see if I can find it. Definitely nothing from CJ though there was one interview with Eamonn Holmes that Molly did.

NappyValleyMum - if you think 40 is the average age, I'm a bit above that! (Nearly 50).

Iloveblue and NappyValleyMum - I also tried to engage people at work today who simply looked bemused. And like Ilove blue I thought about scenes and dialogue in the car all the way home. I have him as the wallpaper on my phone, spend every evening watching episodes on iplayer (mostly the M and CJ bits of course). Reading the posts on here feels like reading about myself!
DH thinks I've gone completely loopy. I have to say, I keep thinking I've watched every episode until I know it off by heart but each time there is another look or bit of body language that I hadn't picked up on before. I apologise if I'm treading on toes as I have only read the first and last page of the thread, iffy wifi in my hotel( away with work again).

This is the only series I have seen in its entirety in three and a half years and I have loved it, I'm x military and yes I can pick giant holes in the plot, but this has been a beautifully shot and written action/romance drama it's been great.

I work shifts, earlies and lates and have dd 3 who doesn't sleep so I rarely follow anything tv, but after catching the pilot last year I have made an effort with this, catching up on the iplayer where necessary.

Why was it only 5 episodes, I did feel the last episode was rushed and could have had more depth. I am too a sucker for Capt James, but would have loved to have see Molly's friendship with Smurf grow.

Please can we have some more thinking women's action totty on tv.

( I also adore Strikeback on Sky but there hasn't been a new series yet this year)

Evening everyone! Just popped in to see how the CJ lovefest is going, can't quite get my head around the fact that there will be no new episode on Sunday!
I would love a compilation of more Cpt James bits too (especially the expression on his face just before he leans his head on Molly's at the hospital and his face when the chopper takes off). But I do love all the bits with the whole of 2 Section as well, I've never been in the military but I did work abroad for many years in a heavily male dominated environment living and working together 24/7. It reminds me of that very happy time in my life, which also contained a couple of wonderful love affairs, one of whom is now my DH.

Brodies thanks to the fanfic link you posted, I had a look at other stories by that author and have been distracted from Cpt James for a couple of hours due to becoming enthralled by Harry Potter Erotica!!!! Hermione and Lucius Malfoy

Talking of dialogue, I was in a meeting today and one of my colleagues said "Ditto" in response to a question. It was said in context, nobody else in the room thought anything of it, but I burst out laughing and had to change it into a cough. All other attendees were men and I am doubtful anyone knew why I laughed/coughed. The meeting dragged on and on and my mind drifted over to our Captain. I even managed a sneaky peek on my phone....... they didn't even notice.

Oh and just to add, I was also a Soldier Soldier fan in its day, still have all of it on VHS. For info just shy of 40.

I have to confess that when it was on, as a family we'd watch Downton first (don't hate me - it's family tradition!), then I'd scamper off to bed straight after and iPlayer Our Girl immediately. The streaming in my house is not great, but every time it stopped to buffer, it seemed to freeze at a scene with CJ and freeze on his gorgeous face. So I'd go from 'Argh! Stop freezing on me!' to 'Aaaahhhh, actually, never mind, you can stay frozen on that image for as long as you want.'

As it is confession-time, i think that I have been on bus/LUL something like 4hrs today and I managed to only watch/read our girl.
AND I sneaked a few moments in the middle of a very boring meeting (where again I was the only woman and none of the men was even remotely interesting.) I think it's true CJ is not real. But then again, there's no harm, right?
(I wasn't driving...may have missed a stop, who cares)

I have emailed Chris Evans (for Radio 2), Graham Norton for his show and the BBC to say how great the series has been and are they going to promote the three main actors on any programmes. Not sure if I can do any more....? I am sure they must look at websites such as these anyway and Facebook has had nearly 17,000 likes on the Our Girl page as well.

Watching ep 2 again and just about to get to the paddling pool scene and DH walks in!! Grrr! Will have to wait.

Ilove love that someone said "Ditto" in a meeting, I wouldn't have been able to keep a straight face either. Maybe its a way of getting Our Girl fans out in the open, you have to drop "ditto" into the conversation and see whose face lights up .

Have just watched the original film again and CJ bits of Episode 5 again.
