Who else is settling in for the evening? Missed most of the first half due to Doctor who but we have lots of cheese and biscuits and wine and hooray!

Yup a bass.... I used to take it on the tube!!

ItsNotEasyBeingGreen · 13/09/2014 22:18

On the tube. Blimey. That must have been hairy on the escalators.

florencedombey · 13/09/2014 22:18

I would say my soloist friend gets a bit nervous but not cripplingly so. I also know that a massive amount of preparation (even more than I had imagined, and I am a keen amateur musician married to a professional musician) goes into being a solo performer for something like tonight. I guess if the preparation is that thorough, there is less to be nervous about.

WhoKnowsWhereTheTimeGoes · 13/09/2014 22:19

Great Rule Brittania, I never really like it with female soloists.

Picturesinthefirelight · 13/09/2014 22:20

Hear hear Mr Oramo

MrsRosetree · 13/09/2014 22:23

I couldn't agree more!

ItsNotEasyBeingGreen · 13/09/2014 22:24

I'm conducting waving my arms around frantically away here.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 13/09/2014 22:24

Land of Hope and Glory.....

Lesleythegiraffe · 13/09/2014 22:27

Well that's almost it for another year - personally I hope for a big fat NO on Thursday as i love being part of all this Britishness

ItsNotEasyBeingGreen · 13/09/2014 22:29

Me too Lesley!

Picturesinthefirelight · 13/09/2014 22:31

Dd is dancing to it still.

alemci · 13/09/2014 22:33

Jerusalem taking me back to end of term school assemblies

NerfHerder · 13/09/2014 22:33

By jingo, there's no other song in the world to equal Jerusalem, is there?

OhYouBadBadKitten · 13/09/2014 22:33

It's just all a little sad this year.

OP posts:
HesterShaw · 13/09/2014 22:34

Except I can't help singing the Scarlett from Four Weddings version. Every. Single. Time.

mausmaus · 13/09/2014 22:34

beethoven 9th maybe?
but 'tis beautiful.

HesterShaw · 13/09/2014 22:35

Was anyone else air conducting like a maniac?

Please don't go Scotland. Pleeeeeeease. We love you.

ItsNotEasyBeingGreen · 13/09/2014 22:35

Proud to be English AND British.... Hopes Scotland vote to stay with us.

Will definitely let DS watch next year!

joanofarchitrave · 13/09/2014 22:35

i hope they sing this version at the Queen's funeral

WhoKnowsWhereTheTimeGoes · 13/09/2014 22:36

Yes, half Scottish and living in England here, feeling quite anxious about it all

HesterShaw · 13/09/2014 22:37

I can't bear to think of the Queen dying. I'm not even a royalist. It's just her.

NerfHerder · 13/09/2014 22:37

Beethoven's 9th isn't technically a song though! Wink

Lesleythegiraffe · 13/09/2014 22:37

Oh a tear in my eye and a lump in my throat at Jerusalem.

Alex Salmond - stick your Yes vote up your arse!

joanofarchitrave · 13/09/2014 22:38
