Is it my imagination or are these challenges really hard, more so than other years.

I like them all now.
I want no one to go, and for them to draw tonight, and in the final.

But yeah probs Nancy will go.

What's the difference between an entremet and a petit four?

Kate -I would say that petit fours are the group (ie small baked thing, usually sweet), and in that group is entremet which is usually a moussey layered thing.

I think Louis has won, which is why the editing of freezergate didn't show him to be the villain.

I have a serious crush on richard! hes got a lovely cheeky smile! I would like him to win, but I think it will be louis.

A petit four is a very small delicacy. Entremet is larger. I think...

I do think it might be Louis to win - mainly because they homed in on Paul saying that it's Richard's level of detail which puts him ahead, and they obviously want to keep the suspense going.

I was wrong about Nancy! I'm glad now, slowly warming towards her.

According to French DP, 'entremet' is just a generic term for a fine patisserie single-serving dessert. A petit four is more one-mouthful size. He is not a cooking expert though!

I was grumpy as soon as I realised (early on) that one of either Chetna or Nancy were going. They are my faves. I feel bad for Chetna, she was so motivated and tried so hard. I think Louis and Richard are both just good at planning and working under pressure and it paid dividends for them this week. Chetna and Nancy were always a step behind it seemed.

I am so bad at calling it though, literally the last two years in a row I've gotten it completely backwards.

I think Luis will win (although I want Richard to).

I don't understand the Luis hate. He's not my favourite but he's a brilliant bajer and seems nice enough. I've had that multi-layered cake in New York and assumed it was made from crepes, really yummy.

Just caught up. Annoyed that smug Luis got through - his comment about Chetna being competitive was supremely annoying, and I feel like they never like the way his bakes taste - but I am mollified that Nancy survived. I really like her, she's a proper home baker.

Surely Richard HAS to win. Luis hasn't done as well throughout.

In the final, do they pick the winner based on how they've done purely in the final or how they've done overall throughout?

They pick purely on the final. I remember Mary specifically saying this before. They only consider past rounds if there's really nothing to separate the performance of two bakers in the final itself.

I'd say there have been winners in the past that really weren't the strongest going into the final (Frances, John) but pulled out a great showstopper and won on the strength of that.
