Anyone else watching?

BIL is an ex-marine and he's told me some of the stuff they got up to Wink

OP posts:
DiaDuit · 28/07/2014 20:57

signing in for my weekly bare bum fix Grin

DiaDuit · 28/07/2014 21:33

aww. Sad for Marks.

DiaDuit · 28/07/2014 21:42

Grin @ those 3 switching places so they look right!

PopcornFrenzy · 28/07/2014 21:58

I love watching this, brings back lots of memories of my basic training...granted it was nowhere near as harsh as marine basic but hated the gym

DiaDuit · 28/07/2014 22:03

I saw my sister's feet after two weeks basic training with the TA and knew there and then I could never do it. Grin fair play to anyone who has even done two weeks of it. I couldn't. I'm a wimp. Blush

FrankelandFilly · 28/07/2014 22:12

Sorry, missed bits of tonight as DD (4.5 months) kept waking up! Did Borg make it?

OP posts:
PopcornFrenzy · 28/07/2014 22:17

He was backtrooped 4 weeks then sadly quit and went back to Malta

FrankelandFilly · 28/07/2014 22:56
Sad

Like they said though, they can't "turnout a substandard product".

OP posts:
notyummy · 28/07/2014 23:00

Oh dear- not much luck for either of them tonight!

lljkk · 29/07/2014 19:15

I think Borg definitely wasn't cut out to be a RMC & good that he figured out it didn't suit him. Too emotional. I felt bad for Marks. Seemed obvious that life dealt him a poor hand and he had genuine raw potential.

AyMamita · 03/08/2014 21:32

Loving this series (especially the hot Scottish PT instructor, he could shout at me any time)

FrankelandFilly · 04/08/2014 18:58

Ready for tonight's episode everyone?!

OP posts:
PopcornFrenzy · 04/08/2014 19:07

Yep Grin

notyummy · 04/08/2014 19:32

Oh yes!

elportodelgato · 04/08/2014 19:49

Yup, getting ready here too Smile
Can anyone enlighten me as to WHY they go to bed naked? It can't be for efficiency as surely you'd want your boxers on in an emergency situation?

NapoleonsNose · 04/08/2014 19:53

Just discovered this thread. DH is an ex-marine and we watch this every week with running commentary by his nibs. He reckons that the recruits have a far more cushy time than we he was there. He's looking forward to the Dartmoor survival exercise, if they show it, where they are all given a rabbit to look after and then have to kill and eat it. He thinks that'll be when we see the men separate from the boys.

Sidge · 04/08/2014 20:35

They don't have to go to bed naked. That's just for viewing effect I think.

They do get shown how to shower properly though. Including the, ermmm, intimate wash directions!

FrankelandFilly · 04/08/2014 21:27

BIL gave himself a hernia on his first attempt at bottom field - don't tell him I told you Wink

OP posts:
PopcornFrenzy · 04/08/2014 21:27

Loving the spiders web, he will remember to secure his kit next time Grin

PopcornFrenzy · 04/08/2014 21:36

Those rope regains are excruciating Shock

FrankelandFilly · 04/08/2014 21:37

I'm crap at anything upper body strength related so just the thought of rope work makes me cringe!

OP posts:
FrankelandFilly · 04/08/2014 21:54

Oops, failing to spot pneumonia!

OP posts:
notyummy · 04/08/2014 21:59

If you use proper technique for rope climbing then it's as much legs as arms. (Ex RAF officer- I don't claim my 6/7 month training was quite as physically demanding as this, but it had it's moments....)

DiaDuit · 04/08/2014 22:04

the Cpl told them on the first episode (their first day) that they sleep naked and no-one wears boxers/pants to bed and he threatened some punishment if he caught them with boxers on. no idea why though. Confused
