Hope no one minds - was just about to post on the thread but it was full.

What DVD? I missed that. Has no one watched it yet then or was it a red herring?

I agree too. But it was an issue in an only thread, unbelievably.

JeanSeberg · 11/05/2014 10:20

I loved Carla's top with the trees and horses. Any idea where it's from?

mileysorearse · 11/05/2014 10:34

I remember that thread. Someone mentioned her terrible fake crying and face full of botox and was flamed for it.

How can some people who have botox look beautifully smooth all the time Carla and some end up looking like Worf from Star Trek when it starts wearing off?

JodieGarberJacob · 11/05/2014 10:43

I think it was the Botox slagging off that caused someone to post that it was the drugs that the actress takes that causes her face to look slightly unnatural. Dd2 has an unnatural look due to medication so I can understand how hurtful it is when people jump to conclusions.

mileysorearse · 11/05/2014 11:01

If I am wrong about the actress using botox then I apologise, however the Worf question was a general one. It's a common phenomenon, I see it all the time.

Nancy66 · 11/05/2014 12:49

the actress who plays Carla def has a bit of Botox going on there but, I guess, you could argue that it would be in keeping with her character

Housewife2010 · 11/05/2014 20:59

The one who plays Izzy definitely uses Botox. I used to notice how creased her forehead was when she cried then suddenly it was completely taut & shiny. The Botox wore off & now suddenly it's line-free again.

DesperateHousewife21 · 12/05/2014 06:56

Anna looked so annoyed to see Izzy/ Katie coming through the door when she was >--< this close to telling Owen what was wrong.

hildasmuriel · 12/05/2014 08:01

That really winds me up in soaps.

Someone says to husband/boyfriend/best friend /wife/girlfriend etc. 'I've something I need to tell you' with panic stricken doom laden look on face.

Then doorbell/phone rings/other interruption. After this husband/boyfriend/best friend /wife/girlfriend etc says 'what were you going to tell me?'

Person 'oh it was nothing'.

Husband/boyfriend/best friend /wife/girlfriend etc never seems to wonder why person had panic stricken doom laden look and wonder what they were going to say whereas I would have them under torture till they cracked.

DesperateHousewife21 · 12/05/2014 19:23

Or the person forgets to even ask them and acts like they weren't just about to tell them something earth shattering.

qazxc · 12/05/2014 19:45

Why would Whingey Izzy be sacked? It's not like she stole from Underworld. Carla reprimanded them last week for talking about it during working hours, so it was clearly an extra curricular activity.

ohdearitshappeningtome · 12/05/2014 19:55

Tina tanned and lips inflated!

AnneEyhtMeyer · 12/05/2014 20:10

Anna's woe-is-me face and walk is really getting on my nerves now.

I know!! Honestly there's no point acting the victim when you slept with phelan! You deserve misery for eternity for that dastardly act. Urghhhh.

I would've felt more sympathy for Anna if she had played it a bit more melancholic. Her snarling routine (akin to maddies) is making me switch off.

AnneEyhtMeyer · 12/05/2014 20:59

Peter's falling off the wagon yet again is also yawn-some. Seriously, who cares?

OP posts:
cheekygeeky · 12/05/2014 21:08

So true Anne. They keep repeating the plots. Sophie always has troublesome girlfriends, Peter is always falling off the wagon, Leanne is always in a three way, Gail is always being picked on by one of her kids, Anna is always angry, and liz on the prowl.

AnneEyhtMeyer · 12/05/2014 21:26

That sums it up pretty well, cheeky!

What on earth was Tina doing in the toilet so long that she missed Rob? I was actually excited that it was all going to be discovered. I'm glad her flat mate knows and hope that she won't be able to keep it to herself for too long.

Another threesome who I care little about and who took up far too much of tonight's episodes - Todd, Marcus and Maria. Ugh.

WhoKnowsWhereTheTimeGoes · 12/05/2014 22:58

Beth's plastic surgery is another yawnfest.

KenDoddsDadsDog · 13/05/2014 07:19

It's got to the point I don't care if I watch it or not. Garbage. Who was the random bloke with Maria in the pub ?

JodieGarberJacob · 13/05/2014 08:09

He's fairly new. He's the brother of Tina's flatmate and Kev gave him a job in the garage. I can't work out if he's going to turn out a goodie or a baddie. He's so bland at the moment so I don't really care one way or the other.

MrsSteptoe · 13/05/2014 09:37

I quite like the fact that they're keeping Luke a bit neutral and in the background at the moment, though. They often end up being the more developed core characters in time, but you don't feel like they've been forced down your throats. The arrival of Stella, Karl and Eva into the Rovers, meaning that they were barely off the screen, didn't work. The characters like Steph and Tim are keeping me going at the moment. I have to fast forward through anything involving Sawfie and Maddeh or the increasingly insane Maria storyline. And Beth's boob job. And the Windass clan's financial problems. And Peter's drunkenness.

It's taking me about four minutes to do a whole episode of Corrie at the moment.

WhoKnowsWhereTheTimeGoes · 13/05/2014 09:45

Todd getting a well-deserved punch was the highlight last night. Just hope there aren't any repercussions for Ty by way of police involvement, it might not look too good if Kirsty wants to try and get Ruby back now.

ProfYaffle · 13/05/2014 09:56

I think Luke has the patience of a saint! I'd be hot footing it off the cobbles if I were him. Tyrone's been really rude to him, he's been knocked back by every woman he's spoken to and bought Maria drinks while she moaned on about her ex all evening.

TulipOHare · 13/05/2014 10:53

I cannot believe that Marcus would give Todd the time of day. He's like a male version of Tracy Barlow, just gratuitously nasty and vicious and completely open about it Hmm why why why would you be with someone like that?
