how do you solve a problem like maria

does anyone know why emily, the gobby one, no longer is appearing in the final 10 line up for the live shows? she seems to have been replaced by siobhan, the gorgeous one who blew it by having a cold all week. I liked emily!

I don't think connie should be Maria as I feel she's already at her 'peak' (what with all her previous training and experience). The others girls are all improving and I feel have a lot more to give.........

Siobhan has got better and better - I thought the judges were a bit unfair tonight. And - though I have never thought Abi was right for Maria - I thought she sang better than Aiofe in the sing-off (even ds2, who is only 4, said "that blue one just got gooder" )

Me too marthamoo, as soon as I saw the tear on Aoife's cheek I started blubbing, much to dd's surprise. I can't stand Connie and her over-acting, she's just so unsubtle.

And I don't think Helena looks right (when she really belts it out she has a square mouth!) but I thought she sang really well tonight (even if it was cheesy old Celine).

GUTTED that Abi is out - i even bothered to vote tonight. i thought she was great and really looked the part. I thought Aiofe was really weak, infact i don't like any of the ones left. might stop watching :-(

agree MM. there is something quite weak about aoife's voice. I think helen has actually overtaken her in my esteem (i am sure she will be delighted). Connie or siobhan to win - with it all coming down to the last performance at the final.

I want Siobhan to do it.
Watching her is like seeing someone slowly opening up and beginning to believe in herself.
I just think she has a raw edge that is so not stage school, obviously beautiful and talented - but still human.

I want Siobhan too, great description unicorn. She's really watchable, and getting more so (whereas Connie is going in the opposite direction....)

Note ALW said Simona had auditioned for Evita this week - but not a word as to how she had done. She really started to annoy me towards the end - it's all very well being a prima donna when you are a star, but not before you are one!

Do you remember Mrs Overall (ie., Julie Walters) from Acorn Antiques - and how they would have her, after filming in her tabard and rollers, sweeping off the set in a floor length white mink, dark glasses and a cigarette in a long holder? That's what Simona reminded me of.

I thought the right one went tonight although I think Abi did in fact sing better than Aoife in the sing off. The judges seem to be thinking the same as me now (they've finally seen sense!)
I was quite impressed with Helena's improvement and I agree unicorn about Siobhan - I think she's come on loads

Have to say I havent been watching this cause they all annoyed me but the only one I did like from the start looks lik shes going to get kicked off - that Ether whatever her name is, the blonde one. Shes the onyl one that should be Maria - and hey my knowledge of SOM is vast.
